Julius Randle is Thanos you don’t trade him once he acquire the 4th infinity stone..
Randle is the solution to the backup center problem, but it would require Thibodeau to expand his coaching repertoire to include small ball.
Right now, Thibodeau is a one trick pony and must have a rim protector on defense and wants a classic pick and roll type center on offense. Not that it's a bad trick, the Knicks are doing well. But, if Thibodeau wants to maximize the talent on this roster, he is going to have to adjust, as the great ones do.
A Randle, Bridges, Anunoby, DeVincenzo/Hart/McBride, Brunson lineup would be a dominant small ball lineup. Randle wouldn't need to play the post on offense and is not the rim protector on defense. This lineup would be awesome most of the time.
If this lineup can't deal with the size of the opponent, Thibodeau could always move Robinson back into the lineup. At that point, the decision of who of the others to sit would depend on the opposition.
How could he develop anything if he always hurt and clogs the paint for Randle.
