Great discussion! Thank you. A couple of thoughts: (1. How about a philosophy reflecting Jesus' life? I rarely (generous word) hear anyone talk about the values and principles of Jesus's life outside of just Christ's culminating act on the cross and grave. (2. The things cited are stylistic and not ministry-centric. For example, chairs on stage or pulpit or other things mentioned were contemporary in another day. It's just citing new examples of old tendencies. How about getting more practical and specific regarding substantive issues like a pathway to lifestyle multiplication, leadership structure, governance variables, etc., etc. Lights and stages are forward facing, but it is the underlying mentality that needs to be addressed... seeker service is bad because Paul never envisioned it (e.g. Corinth) when speaking of the church, AND the church must equip people to reach their friends and the WHY, WHAT, and HOW (Philosophy of ministry) behind it. Great start but needs more digging into means and not merely forms.
