My favorite everyday foundation is Smashbox photo finish and I have very dry skin. Granted I don’t wear foundation daily, and the proper tone means the most to me 100% of the time. Thanks for the review!
I tried a sample of this foundation a few weeks ago and found that it started to show my dry skin peelings only after having it on my face for a short while, UGH! I also just tried their Pure Tinted Moisturizer last week and went back and purchased a full size and have been wearing it every day. I am absolutely loving this product! I love it as much as my GA Luminous Foundation. Marnie and every person with dry skin must get a sample of this and try it out! It gives me great coverage and leaves my skin looking luminous and hydrated. Even after 12-hours it still looked good. I have used my fingers, brush and beauty blender and have had great results with all three. I am in love...

Hi Marnie! I tried three different color samples from Sephora & had to remove it every time I tried it because it looked so unnatural and flat on my normal to dry skin. For me, L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow wears just as well under all conditions and looks sooooo much more flattering. Thank you for doing a collaboration! I will check out Stephanie's channel for sure.

I'm with you on rooting against that Bama team! Mine is an SEC team too -- although we haven't done well in awhile -- Arkansas Razorbacks! Love Stephanie too even both of you are the age of my oldest daughter! And love this look on you, Marnie. Beautiful sheen/glow. Too bad we have to use a variety of formulations due to breakouts. I'm ancient and I still get them too.

I watch both Stephanie’s and your channel as I value your opinions as I’m over 40. I have tried this foundation but didn’t like it. I have normal skin and found that it settled into pores and wrinkles enhancing the areas I didn’t want it too! I also found it to be very cakey and drying! Needless to say it went back.

Love watching you and Stephanie. Two of my favorite UA-camrs. My two favorite foundations are the GA Luminous Silk and the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet. I recently tried a sample of the Jouer Essential foundation. It went on and wore nicely for about 8 hours but was more coverage than I felt comfortable with. It did start to break up a bit on my chin after 10 hours or so. I have dry/normal skin.

Now that I am 62 I have normal skin, but still not dry at all. I do have a question. Since it is long wearing is the Nars foundation difficult to remove?
It came off just fine with my normal skincare routine. Isn't it odd how skin changes over the years?

I love this foundation, just got a little sample. I have extremely dry skin so it's really not the best for me, but the finish is so gorgeous! Think I'll definitely get it for the warmer weather (which in Chicago may never come!!)

Marnie, thank you. I was not sure about this foundation but I will try it now. My skin is normal but can be dry depending on the time of year. Hydrating primers are a must with me. I also prefer using the It Cosmetics brush but I also lightly pounce with a damn beauty sponge to set it. Seems to work for me. Looking forward to trying this NARS foundation.

What primer did you use with this foundation?

Great video! So thorough. I was getting blemishes more often than I should when I was in my 30’s until I figured out that dimethicone was giving me blemishes. I tried your favorite dream cushion without reading the ingredients 🙄 (I should know better by now!) and it broke me out. Maybe try eliminating dimethicone (for me it has to be in the top 3-4 ingredients for it to bother my skin). It’s not an all over breakout, but just a few big ones.
Good call-that could very likely be a culprit!
I got a sample last week, I have oily/combo skin. I tell you it was nice. Primer Marnie..... It really does help with our mature skin. Fills in the fine lines. The new YSL all hours. You gotta try it Marine. Go to your girls and get you a sample.
I actually have it sitting in a drawer but am afraid to use it. Most primers break me out.
Marnie Goldberg do you know what is in the primer that makes you break you? Have you tried a mineral primer?
I love the shade, the coverage and overall look of this foundation on my dry skin right after application. But sadly it clings to all my dry patches. Even with moisturizer underneath. I wore it into Sephora and the gal said it looked awful on my dry skin. She recommended a primer, Smashbox Primer Water. I added that to the mix and still it looked awful by noon. Not sure what I'm doing wrong as it's meant for people with dry skin.
Lovely video. I also use the pimple test when wearing cosmetics. My go-to foundation coverage here in Canada is Lise Watier CC Creme. I noticed when I used the NARS smooth & protect primer for too many days in a row, I got pimples (some ingredient in their products must clog your pores). So, I reverted back to AVON face perfector primer (just because my sister sells AVON), and I haven’t really experimented with anything else (only started using primer in the past 9 months). Just my two cents! -🇨🇦🐥✌️

Hey Marnie, I loved this video and it’s prompted me to wear my NARS foundation today. Have you tried the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation? I’ve been really enjoying your Foundation reviews and thought of you and your recent LM video.
I haven't-I've concluded that long-wearing foundations are just not for me.
I'm really interested as to why you prefer a medium to full coverage foundation in the first instance. I'm curious because I think that as you get older less is more and if your skin is in fairly good condition (as yours seems to be) AND you don't want to look heavily made up, then a light BB or CC cream and a good spot cover maybe all you need...

I had the same experience with the Nars foundation. I then tried the new Dior foundation, I found a better match with my fair skin, and I found it wears better on my dry skin. Have you tried it yet? In Dior I’m in 14, it’s a bit less yellow than 15.

It’s funny how different your and Stephanie’s opinions are of this foundation! I think it’s hard for a foundation to claim it works for all skin types
It is medium to full coverage but on you it looked like you put so much on & it didn't even give you good medium coverage....very strange, you must have used way too much primer on the face before, maybe too hydrating on the skin before the foundation was applied.

Hi May! Welcome to my channel! I haven't used a 100% mineral sunscreen so I can't really recommend one, but I used to use the Elta MD UV Physical sunscreen and loved it. Currently I'm using the new Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen and it does do well under makeup.
Thanks! I appreciate the reply. I will definitely take a look at that brand. I have been fighting Melasma and started using tretinoin , so a good sunscreen is essential... melasma is very difficult to disguise under makeup, so I am trying very hard to fade it away.
