We were watching it here in Fremont, California. The theatre was full and everyone were on their feet when the movie ended and there was a standing ovation. There were few second generation Kannadiga NRI teens, they for sure had never seen anything like it before. Kannada movies are going places and we are extremely proud of them. Never miss a chance to support and encourage these new generation film makers

I'm from Toronto, Canada. For a two-week period, I was unable to purchase movie tickets. I chose to watch as I was already travelling to Bangalore. And trust me when I say that this was an incredible experience. watched it twice! We'll be talking about this film for years!
I really like the way Raj B Shetty is staying away from all the interviews of Kantara to make sure he doesn't take away any credit as Kantara is Rishab's vision ultimately.
Well, rather than national awards or international recognition, we should start Kantara Awards to reward/recognize our World cinema industry talents…. This will be the greatest tribute to this movie. Imagine this global award ceremony happening in India & every talent visiting Bharath, promoting tourism, culture & trade.
Last 20 mins of Guliga(Demigod) giving divine darshan through shiva's body gave me happy tears ❤️ 🙏 I always had a perception tht Guliga was the most violent Demigod, other Demigods felt more compassionate, in personal experience in all yearly rituals seeing Guliga always trying to run away towards water/well/pond to disappear permanently always thought Guliga has no respect for the divine pact our ancestors made with these Demigods in Ancient times just like the king made shown in movie but now i understand why it is the last resort to restore the Dharma whn things are out of control 🙏

Some stories cannot translated to other languages and kantara is one of them. It is raw and real. This story is of coastal Karnataka and and Tulunada people still follow the rituals of Bhootaradhane or bhoota kola. And dialogues are best to hear in local languages and there is a different kick when you hear it in Tulu or Kannada language. Still if it is dubbed pakka non Kannadiga’s will like it but you people won’t connect to it the way kannadiga got connected to the culture and traditions of Tulunadu. 🙌🔥 Best of Best “Kantara”❤ 5/5 Please watch it with subtitle. KANTARA You should pronounce the it as "Kaathara"/"कान्तारा" Which means "Mysterious forest" the dialect which he used that is very difficult to dub to other languages ,not just other language its very difficult to translate to other slangs kannada only The slang is kundapura kannada Its pure, deep folklore

For all those who compared Kantara to Pushpa, Karnan, Jallikattu movie etc.. Just 🙃 Nimish the action sequences were choreographed by the 2 time National Award winning Action Director Vikram Mor (He won National Award for action direction of KGF Chapter 1 and Avané Shrimannarayana)
@@aashishsharma9106 I think Vikram Mor provided what the directors wanted. Also I think Yash had too much budget running on his shoulders and they couldn't afford any single mishap to occur. With Rishab it's the same but, the degree of freedom was a bit more so and Rishab himself was determined to do it.

There's hard to find any cons in the movie but If I have to find, The screenplay could have been more indulgent with the past story (current time with 18th century). Also, Shiva's relationship with his father could have been explored. Also, the movie does not give any time to grasp the tension and rift going on with Shiva, Murli, and the landlord. time was much focused on the comedy aspect. The war battle at the end feels fetched with the landlord showcased extra evil total in contrast to his first-half portrayal. The climax is the saving grace. but have to admit the BGM, fight choreography and cinematography are top notch

In india history the Kantara is going to be first Oscar awarded movie. This movie deserves OSCAR. Excellent excellent every bit screen. I watched movie yday, couldn't sit on screen, story goes so flawless, everybody is acted so well, climax is superbly made by Rishabh.

There's hard to find any cons in the movie but If I have to find, The screenplay could have been more indulgent with the past story (current time with 18th century). Also, Shiva's relationship with his father could have been explored. Also, the movie does not give any time to grasp the tension and rift going on with Shiva, Murli, and the landlord. time was much focused on the comedy aspect. The war battle at the end feels fetched with the landlord showcased extra evil total in contrast to his first-half portrayal. The climax is the saving grace. but have to admit the BGM, fight choreography and cinematography are top notch
