Until one day when they realized just wha she could do with her voice, they pushed her up front and the magic happened. It is so sad that she suffered with anorexia until her heart just gave out. Just wonderful, so soothing! Many other Carpenters classics to choose from, maybe Goodbye To Love or Superstar next 👍

Karen and Richard Carpenter...only siblings can have that tight a harmony, i.e., The Bee Gees :D

I am contemporaneous with Karen Carpenter and haven’t seen her picture for years. I am struck now by what a beautiful girl she was. When you are young youthful beauty seems “normal”. She had so much to live for. Why? Why? Why? Would she have recovered if she had lived now, I wonder.

My mum introduced me to The Carpenters in the 1970s when they were big. It is only recently that I have come to appreciate her perfect voice & excellent drumming. We get a little bonus as well!!!

Her vocals literally bring tears to my eyes. How could anyone sound so pure & perfect??? It's scary how great she was, and sad that we lost her WAY too soon. She was only in her early 30's. 😥

I've been listening to the carpenters since I was a little kid, 50 years ago. There music never gets old. Great reaction!

That they medleyed into Close To You, might be a good segway to your next reaction. It's a classic.

Karen it´s the voice, pure quality, her voice is like an exotic perfume that permeates the environment in a subtle way but has a very powerful effect.

Yesterday, Once More is my favorite Carpenters song. It's a nostalgic song about nostalgia. Takes me back to about 7 years old.
