Great interview, what a legend! Have listened to him since Heartwork with Carcass, as well as Spiritual Beggars, to see him still so passionate and going strong all these years later with Arch Enemy truly inspiring.
Fuck yeah Michael Amott thank you for all the years of awesome guitar playing can’t wait till August 12 so I can hear the rest of the album and jam it for like six months straight! 🤘🤘🎵
Michael seems like a very pragmatic , down to earth person. It's probably the first interview I've seen, where the interviewer speaks more than the guest interviewed (?).
Thank you what a great spirit and melodic creativity has kept metal alive and well ! WOULD have liked to know who his biggest influences were in Metal . He plays great leads as well!
There’s a tonne of Gary Moore in his playing, and I remember back when Gary died that Michael spoke out about how much of an influence Gary was on his playing.
A boat load of obvious Michael Schenker, Gary Moore and John Norum influence - from his playing style to his choice of gear/tones, they're all over it 🤘
The problem with the interviews I've seen with Michael is he has his guitar in his hands but there is no amp in sight... It would be much better if he was allowed to play the guitar while the interviewer asks guitar centric questions (tuning, this riff, that riff, this solo, that solo, this kind of tone, etc).
There’s people who claim he doesn’t play enough lead and now we have you claiming he doesn’t play enough rhythm. You guys don’t need to speak for Jeff. He’s a grown adult and can speak for himself. Jeff appears to be VERY happy with his role in Arch Enemy. If you want to Jeff, go listen to his stuff. It’s very simple.

I miss the golden Era of pre D.I. albums, now more than ever everything sounds the same, God I miss albums that had its own sound that could never be replicated, now days the D.I. approach just seems to shit out the same sound/tone/character every album. I'm sick of the pressure to sound like the album from the public, if you want the album listen to the album, the album used to be the hook to get you to the show and suddenly the album doesn't even compare to the live show and that's why you'd travel and catch every show that you could because that's what it was all about. But now days the "single" is the highlight? Ya whatever
Sitting with a V is great. Shame I can't with his signature cause Dean put the jack in the dumbest possible spot. You can't sit down and play with it plugged in. Its such a stupid design. I don't even have the super cheap one, the USA ones like the one he's sitting with have the jack in the top horn but the one I have has it in the lower horn. Terrible design choice. Shocked it even was built like this
The greatest contribution of Michael is always creating great riffs and melodies and perfectly executes those.
Michael Amott is the greatest GENIUS guitar master! Love so much from Carcass
Michael Amott, absolute legend and genius. 🤘🏻
You only speak facts.
You fanboi,
He is good.
Great interview, what a legend!

same here. Love his playing and songwriting in those bands.

What an awesome guy! Michael and his bro, Chris are two of my fave guitarist!
He is a sleeping pill.
Very nice interview thank you, still learning studio things ! I like Michael's humor so much ^^ "The sacrifice we make for heavy metal".
I played a drinking game where I'd have a drink every time he said "you know." I just got home from the hospital.
Hope you make a swift recovery 😝

very humble man much respect
"you know" - Michael Amott 2022
😂🤣
Michael is a great guitarist
One of the best guitar players ever
it helps when yr sound has a lot of range to begin with. Arch Enemy goes a lot of different places while still remaining true to the sound

I love how they translated Marshall and Engl to Martial and Angle in the subtitles. 😂
"You know" 😀
Michael amott rockkks
Great interview!
You know, Michael Ammot is like kinda awesome guitar player you know
Belleza de hombre y que talento, me enamoré 😍🥰❤️
suuuuuuuper cool thanks!!!
Did anyone count the "you know"s?
If he wore a cloak i don't think it would be out of place,it would just blend in🦇
He's also got a mad voice
When youll bring these guitars in stock?
he says you know as much as alexi laiho and zakk wylde
"have some balls or ovaries, y'know" 🤣
Ah yes, disabled receiver, my favourite single from Deceivers😂
I had some fun reading the subtitles.

Why He never said "you know" in this interview? 😂😂😮😮😮
Amott rocks hard
The guy is a straight up Legend 🤘
@@guitarguitaruk do Jeff Loomis next have him plugged into an amp
I think amott is distracted and mildly offended by the interviewers socks
George Best is alive ?
he is sick or someth?
Why?
Not big on eye contact is he
The spectrum is strong in that one 😂😂😂
🥱
Thinking about Heartwork from Carcass....where are the Riffs from Jeff? Like him but give Jeff more room for Rhythm Ideas...

no eye contact between those two. its insulting.
Not fond of eye contact, is he?
I love that guitar

Get a right angle cable...
You play a V sitting down? I have done it but it's not a sitting down type of guitar. Move the output put it where you want it.
@@mattwhitfield9850 the jack doesn't reach, I have the Tyrant FM.
Thankfully his old ESPs and LTDs got it right out of the gate!
@@HaganeYoshi you good at wood working? If so put the output jack where you want it to be. Me I use an L cable on my king V.
Who is this guy with the guitar? He looks lame.
You look lame.
You know nothing, Jon Snow.
You gotta have some shit taste in music then
He said a few years ago that he can play things that Jeff Loomis can't 😂😂
If that isn't a joke, I don't know what is 🤣🤣🤣🤣
