Enjoyed your relaxed way of talking and your line of reasoning: "I have a hole here.. That deserves a moth ball" lol. Very helpful for all levels of gardeners.
Perfect timing for this to pop up in my feed today! I had heard about mothballs for lizards but not snakes, so thank you thank you cuz there are definitely snakes in my neighborhood here in GA. Looking forward to more gardening tips. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome advise, thank you. I live in Florida and just had a water moccasin up under my steps on my porch where my dogs are fenced-in at and the dogs let me know that he was there. We said bye bye to the moccasin. But I'll now go buy these and put them as needed around the house and the Border on my property line. Thank you again.
Great video. Me and my mom have been doing this for years. It does work. She lives in the country and uses them close to the house. I dont have a problem with snakes in my yard...around the house and the yard perimeter. Does the job!
Just moved with my family to Arizona. We bought a beautiful home with lots of land. Rattlers and other snakes are a big problem. I’ll try this. I also heard chlorine tablets work as well. Thanks for the mothballs tip
I have tons of iguanas eating my vegetable garden so, I will be using these (mothballs) along with a citrus spray to keep them out. Thanks tor sparking the thought process.
I’ve heard of this snake remedy before. I’ve tried it and not really sure how well it worked only because I was not noticing many snakes either way. The other thing I’ve done is peeing near areas where snakes might travel or hide out. Yes, I’ve done this, but usually at dark and first making sure that no one was around. A Kentucky friend of mine told me of that remedy years ago. There are plenty of trees on my 1.3 acres of land. I’m in the yard most often, so when the urge hits me, I take advantage of it. I’ve also heard that hedge apples work well. Not sure on any of it though. Thoughts? Have a great day and a Happy New Year! The Porter Dude of Ohio. 🤩
You are very smart! Many people don't know how to look for active ingredients and then buy that and not a formula! A formula at times appears to give you more when the inactive ingredients don't do any thing! When I worked at a health food store vitamin formulas were like that!

I use them to keep mice and rats away. In fact I heard snake poop and owl feathers will scare them away too. I throw them around the floor of my little outside shed. Can’t hurt or leach into soils there. Where my garden is I use the plastic container with holes trick! Haven’t had a problem since.
So the "plastic container with holes trick" is to put the moth balls in a plastic container among or around the veggies and it smells but doesn't mess up the soil? I've been placing them on the brick border i put around the raised beds but maybe i should use a container to keep it more safe?
