I was diagnosed with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) in 2019 and last year a second diagnosis Functional Cognitive Disorder (symptoms similar to early stage Dementia)
It is a complex condition, even the best neurologists, still don't have a clue what is causing it.
It is so great to see FND making more aware among the public, because we struggle with so many things and in most cases due to our symptoms, that are not fake, it is such a fight to be heard by specialists and all kinds of government agencies.
I'm fighting to be heard for almost 5 years and I won't give up and I want to thank Alex a million times, you are such an inspiration for us all who are dealing with FND ❤❤❤
Thankyou for raising awareness for FND and tics ❤ I have both too and it made me really happy to see you on stage! Loved your performance 😁💕
I've never felt so much love and pride for someone I don't know but my goodness Alex would be my golden Buzzer now and forever. Evreyone's got a place right here, you tell'em Alex!
Indeed. He is incredibly lovable!
Absolutely brilliant he is 💯
That message is good about everyone’s got a place but was he that funny
For someone who has been diagnosed with FND myself. This is inspiring 👏
I agree. I was diagnosed with FND more than six years ago, and I loved his delivery of it.
I agree, I was diagnosed with FND more than six years ago, and his delivery of it was fantastic.
I have FND as well. He got up on that stage and he did it.
I have fnd!! So glad to see some representation
As a fellow sufferer of FND he’s so inspiring. Great set and very funny
He wasn’t even funny
Would he be funny if he didn't have fnd
It not a show for inspirational people, they can spread their awareness somewhere else, this is a talent show ,and lacked talent, wasn't remotely funny,
@@tracyjacob7091 it's like that Ghana act lady night the only ones who voted for it were Africans you just have to look at the comments after it
Lol
@@Keiron-pw6slI know, it because the young girl is deaf, that why they made final
I went to school with this guy, fairly decent fella kept to himself I'm glad he's doing well
Brilliant performance. So likeable. Also great to raise awareness for FND (which I'd never heard of!) and learning sign language. Such an inspiration. Wishing Alex Mitchell all the best. The audience reaction was truly deserved.
He wasn’t even funny
@@amylouise24xx Comedy is subjective. The best you can do is acknowledge that you're entitled to your own opinion and then respect those of others. :)
@@amylouise24xx totally agree
He was useless
I laughed at hair guy more, and laughed at viggo venn last year, Alex wasn't remotely funny, didn't laugh once,
Tell a lie,I'm laughing now at all the comments that say he was funny 😁 maybe you all need to get ya ears tested lol
Everything about Alex was absolutely perfect! I hope he does become a successful comedian one day! The whole world needs him!
Why do ppl assume. he’s faking? I’ve got fnd and it’s not easy to live with. People need to study the condition a bit before jumping into conclusions. It’s nice to be recognised. Spreading awareness is important. Good luck.
He is not, it is a real thing.
Wonderful to raise awareness of autism and tics ….. thank you Alex, there are so many people out there who will feel less alone and more confident in themselves after seeing this. You will help so many. Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing 🎉
He faked his tic twice for a punchline. People with tics spend their lives trying to prove they are not faking it and this guy fakes it for laughs. Inappropriate and unfunny.
The shows called "Britain's got talent" not "Britain's got a guy begging for sympathy and pity"
@@glendatobin3877 How do you know he faked it? That's pretty harsh considering Alex suffers with them constantly.
@@glendatobin3877 people guna say it weather or not... he's using what he's been dealt..
Really love this guy. So genuine and so funny.
I think if you jingled a bunch of keys in front of Bruno Tonioli his mind would be blown
😂😂😂 Someone should glue him to that chair.
😂😂😂😂 you need to audition for next year ,your cracking me up with your comments, your more funny than Alex
The fact that some people are being negative about him just shows they don't know what he has gone through all his life well done Alex as Simon said he nailed it within the first 10 seconds!
It's not being negative it's critiqueing him against the talent he was up against, and in my opinion he got a lot of sympathy votes from the public, it's actually negative to judge him by what he has gone through, just judge him with his material.
That’s just not true. Nobody’s mocking his disability here. He’s just not funny
He wasn't remotely funny,
I agree and also I'm sure he's playing up the disability as keeps doing it every few seconds. Might sound harsh but that's the way it looks.
And more importantly his act wasn't funny. I'm amazed he won the semi final and can only put it down to sympathy votes which is unfortunate and not right for the others
@@mickwalker5120totally agree
This was a class act. Loved it ❤
13 years into having FND, never seen anyone on one of these shows with it. And now… this inspires me even more to want to get back on the stage!
Go mr mitchell my computing teacher❤😂😅😊
if he ever did his bit in South Africa, where they actually have a click language, there will be a lot of confused people. lol.
click language?
Tell me about it please
@@mrnatha there are languages in south Africa that actually have clicks in their language, one of them being the xhosa language; so to them, this guy doing the random clicks would sound like gibberish. lol
Oh man, that was amazing.
As someone with autism I can identify with worrying about small insignificant things. I'm happy he made the final.
He's a terrible comedian though.
Amazing Alex! Thank you for the jokes about FFND lol.
I like what simon said about being welcome on this show, it made me emotional because I have FND and where i work at a job i loved so much has pushed me out and I know i'm not welcome there anymore because of my diagnosis. I'm happy for Alex though finding where you belong, congratulations!
Great performance! This man was meant to be a comedian. I’m so happy for him!
Nah bro was not funny at all
He was meant to be but he wasn't. I laughed more when my hamster died.
Think he needs to stick to his day job
@@itztracaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I sat and watched his performance and didn't laugh once in fact I didn't even smile.
I have laughed more when i stubbed my toe 😂
He's just fantastic. I wish him all the best.
On that night I was there. He has a real chance of winning the show because the standing ovation at the end was wild
Tbh he was loads better than the stand up guy the previous day and he had the likeability factor (louis walsh trademark) so he was deserved to go through. Not the best material but the guy commands the stage like a boss.
Not the best material but his adlibbing was excellent. Can see him on shows like 8 out 10 cats, etc..
U know hes got it when he made joke out of his sudden strong ticks on the fly.
There's no such thing as on the fly when it comes to the stage. Every bit of it is choreographed. You know when things go wrong in pantomimes? All pre planned. Sorry.
@shabba890 oh really interesting welp thats one way to fool me i guess but hes still impressive nontheless
@@shabba890that's just not true. He clearly has no control of his ticks. And sometimes things do just go wrong and you have to deal with them quickly
@@indijohnson1278 it's all rehearsed. Sure, they're mostly real but if you think he can't add a couple in for an extra laugh you're mistaken
Better than yesterdays stand up
Not much better, low bar
Good for him - great representation for the little-known FND.
Aw he was great! I felt for him with all his tics, but he battled through and what I liked how he commented on a few of them, best way to be on comedy honest and direct, and tackle the issues head on!
I
LOVE
HIM
Brilliant how he can turn negatives into positives and be funny about it . This man is a good laugh and I hope he keeps it up for stand ups to come.
I'm in contact with dead people and when I ordered a pizza the waiter said "medium?"
I said "yes but I'm off duty"
There. That's a joke but this is just waffle.
So pleased for Alex - his comedy routine hit the right tone, and he's an inspiration.
God bless you brother. Very kind ending remarks ❤. Am also single just incase😅
As someone also diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, I sincerely am encouraged seeing people like Alex succeed. Seeing FND become more known is deeply encouraging.
Didn’t laugh but seems nice guy
A break from Asians have got talent atleast they should be banned. The only good act the asian beatboxers didnt even get through its such a travesty.
Charming 🎉🎉
❤❤❤
He's so funny 😂
What a great guy, so funny but also, so genuine! Well Done Alex!
People were PRE-BOOING Simon hahaha
I don't normally find disabled comedians funny but he's pretty funny
Mad respect that this guy did his whole act straight through his tics. No maybe he’s not the funniest I’ve ever seen but he has such interesting material to work with, a hella fresh perspective and represents neurodiverse people we write off every day. I can see why he went through. 💕
Plus I don't think he does comedy even semi professionally? Like the guy yesterday does tiktok and comedy clubs and like most acts has loads of experience. It seems Alex here is newer to comedy and therefore a genuine unknown talent. Deserves kudos for that and can see him going from strength to strength.
❤and...the green pepper looks nice on a pizza. Just saying... congratulations mr. Mitchell!
Love WILL always win ❤️
Love Amanda's top. It's beautiful 😍
Tick tock boom

I loved this performance, I laughed and cried, I felt so much joy and tears in the same time! I wish you the best, Alex! My vote goes for you! You have your place in this world - own it, you deserve the best, own are amazing!
Sympathy votes
How exactly??? He poked fun at himself!
Maybe
Would be so cool to be part of the Audience BGT , Alas I am in New Zealand 🇳🇿 So UA-cam is closest we can get ❤
Where in world are you ?
👇
Alex Mitchell that is the name to watch out for a very funny comedian and he can take the Mickey out of his disability I Agree with Simon i think you wont be a teacher for much longer all the luck in the world.
it’s so amazing to see representation for FND, i was diagnosed in february and have been so lost. Have had tics for over 5 years and non epileptic seizures for 18 months plus various other symptoms. had never heard of fnd until diagnosed and it’s so nice to see people openly talking about such a misunderstood condition 🫶
I think Alex is brilliant.
As somone the suffers from fnd so proud
Well done Alex!! You are so awesome!!
Absolutely brilliant
??
He was so funny I don’t understand why some didn’t find him funny. You obviously got a problem if you didn’t think it was funny and you need to book a doctors appointment now to get checked out to see if they can make you laugh 😂🤣
It hard to get an appointment at the doctors lol 😆
Maybe you have to be autistic to find it funny, and by that rationale doctors now have a sure fire way to diagnose autism "ok watch this... ah you laughed, your autistic, next."
I know right. I was laughing so hard for so long that literally fell on the floor and started crying happy tears
@rayhankhan8992 jeez he wasn't that funny
@@rayhankhan8992 this makes you fall in the floor in hysterics I'm bet your fun at parties 🤭
Respect for the courage to perform. Having said that, not 1 joke was in the least bit funny. I wouldn't even call them jokes.
Sympathy votes got him to final
I agree, he is very likeable and his first audition was funny. To come on the live show though and to rely solely on doing jokes about his condition was boring. He needs to show he can do jokes about other subjects, because otherwise he is a 1 trick pony.
@@vaw796exactly
@@tracyjacob7091No they didn’t… 🤦♂️
Well, of course these are no jokes, because he's talking about his life and his diagnosis - but his ability to talk about it in such a funny, charming and lighthearted way makes him not only a comedian, but even more important a rolemodel
Isn't grand that we with disabilities turn them into bring it on abilities!!! Tell me I can't and I will show you I can 10 fold!
I am not trying to be negative about Alex as he has a great personality and seem like a really great person but I just don't find him funny.

What an amazing guy… naturally funny, love him. He deserves to win BGT.
Came here to say thankyou! Feeling validated and feeling seen 😊 excellent comedian. Tics are a part of us but do not define us. Well done xx
Amazing act and comedy 8:25
Fair play to the guy he has achieved so much considering his tic, but I’m afraid he’s just not funny. Loads of respect for him just not funny imho.
This is amazing and it makes it even better Cus my second name is Mitchell to
Hope the Melbourne comedy festival bring this guy to aus.
I have had fnd 11 years and hide away. Alex for the win!
The guy stands head and shoulders above any comedian I've seen on this show ... And to perform so well with a tick. Well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hilarious is not exactly how I would have called it.
Can't agree more.
My winner for the hole thing! Roll on Sunday
Nope. He is boring and can only rely on jokes about his condition. The first time was amusing, but to do it again shows he can't do other jokes. The word is whole not hole.
@vaw796 well said, totally agree with you, if he wins ,it be out of sympathy
Awesome hilarious performance 😂
The best comedians are the ones who are naturally funny, and he truly is. He is a master of ad libs
Great message at the end also
I get the awareness for autism, tics and the courage to perform. The show is based on talent, and I didn't find him funny at all. We have so many good comedians the bar is raised pretty high!
Spot on.
Can tell your a Tory
Both him and the camp comedian with accents were on par with their followups to their auditions if you ask me.
Not fantastic
This guy deserves to win the whole thing.sadly will be a singer or some other crap
You think he deserves to win?💀 don’t be stupid
Why does he deserve to win
He may not win the big money but he has been seen by millions, including people in the business who give people work. Standup is a very very tough career, but maybe he will do well.
Is about as funny as a fart in the wind
Super-duper funny! I loved the sign for Bruno!

He was hilarious in the audition. This bit wasn't as good.Stand-up comedy is tough.

Funny bloke but personally the Canadian comedian was considerably funnier
IMHO
If he doesn’t win the UK is ducking dumb
If he does win it be out of sympathy
You already know he is this year's winner don't you
Hope not
Wtf, what was so funny about that? That was the least funny thing i think i’ve ever watched
Because he's talking about something which is not funny - but he does it in such a charming and lighthearted way that impresses me totally, because its amazing what he makes out of his situation
I hope this guy wins, he's so good!!
I thought a comedian was supposed to be funny, Alex fell flat on his face in that respect.
