In this song, they were in one of those rare state of grace that only very few bands reach. The song outro is THE BEST OUTRO EVER WRITTEN. period.

good to know, I'll check it out. rock though is not just the writing (usually pretty basic music) but the energy as well.
Stolen is a bit too much no? I listened to the song (great song btw). But it's not like they just copied it, more like a blueprint. They may be using the same basic guitar riff, but they add so much. Especially the build-up (for wich you should really listen to the full version) is amazing. Still my favourite outro ever written.
I agreee with JohanDeBruycker, it does not seem to be stolen, it actually seems to me that only about 4 or 5 notes from a pretty standard bluesy riff are the same, but pretty much everything else is different.
Of course you both don't think it is stolen or borrowed, because you want to love deus.
Belgium's finest.. The 90's. What a decade! My teenager years... Now i'm a 'forty-er' and dedicated father. Wild years far away. But when i hear this music, makes me nostalgic...

I think you know that the album version of this song is even a little longer and with more escalating guitars in the end ... It is _so_ much better to hear this song in it's entirety then "castrated" like this ...

This song reminds me of my university days… I loved this song and associated it with a very special female acquaintance at the time…. Very very sentimental song for me… now it’s my chill out song… the tune is sooooo infectious 🥰
That was a great moment when they made that video clip. We all got StrongBow cider for free and just had to enjoy while they were filming the music video.
I had a great memory being there and I love the fact that someone else was there that I would meet years later. It was definitely a perfect cross point in life !

How come this band are almost unheard of in southern england at least ? I don’t spend my life studying post rock or alternative music or art rock or cult bands or whatever pigeon hole they’d have to be pushed into but I keep my ears open - I’d probably only have read about them in The Guardian or Morning Star British newspapers if I was lucky but didn’t. If it weren’t for Spotify I’d never known of dEUS. It demonstrates how the uk music scene is biased towards non mainland European music I guess. Great video I think influenced a Blok Party one . In the ending on the album version the alternate guitar hits even more like a truck in the ending. It's beautiful how the song feels finished and they just wow you with another instrumental track
This is just an amazing song..... I’m old but new to Deus.
I used to work in a call-centre with Craig Ward just a couple of years after this was made, circa 2001-2002. He told me some interesting stories about his time in Deus and touring with other bands. I heard some fascinating stories about Michael Stipe and Courtney Love.
His contribution to Deus was amazing. It's kinda depressing to think that he was working in a call centre a couple of years later!
I hope he's still making music.

I think I met Craig in Dublin one night during his Deus days but it was a long night and I have very little memory of it!

back in 99 i was supposed to live London after 2 years. bags were packed, bus was in about 2h from victoria station.. then i heard this song at XFM radio and went crazy about it.. run to the virgin mega store at Ofxord Street and nearly missed the bus but I bought the cd! so tied to the 90's...

@Tricked85 I'm myself a Belgian, and the reason why they do that is because Belgian people have a serious identity problem. Belgium is small, divided in two large groups (Flemish and Walloons). Their are a lot of differences between these groups, which leads to political and social conflicts. So people don't really know if they are Belgian, Flemisch, Walloon or European. So they are happy when a Belgian artist is famous. It's confirms their identity.
