I had heard that one with the aunt in meth psychosis before but it still hits just as hard. That was some horrible torture to endure, especially for a 14 year old. I really hope she's living a good life now and has all the therapy she needs. 🙏🏼
I really hope the story was not true. It is horrible and what makes me most angry is the neglecting mother and the rest of the family. How could she leave her daughter alone with a methhead psycho? I get it a lot in these stories. What is wrong with US parent? So much neglect, especially emotional. You can really thank yourselves for all the bad stuff going on in America. It all starts early on. Makes me so angry.
It’s like u had such a bad day but when u listen to the video It’s like “it could have been a lot worse” ye feel grateful for the day u had than what could have been 100 times worse
Fun fact: Werner Herzog, the guy mentioned in the plane-crash-survival story, played the imperial guy who hired the Mandalorian to find Grogu in the first season of "the Mandalorian".
These stories really get under your skin! I can already tell they’re going to linger in my mind long after the video ends. Such a terrifying collection!
This is the best you've done yet! You are truly one of the best narrator and your different voices really make your stories come to life. The story with the aunt (1:43) terrified me and will not leave my mind anytime soon
Man, I'm so upset about the one with the horse. Those hunters should have gotten some jail time. That was very malicious and irresponsible. I'm so sad for that girl. What a traumatic experience.
The story about Custer the horse reminds me of a one time when my family was hiking on a well-known trail about 15 years ago. It was my sister and me, my dad and stepmom, and my sister and I wanted to walk further ahead, which was no problem since we'd hiked this one before. My sister was wearing a brightly colored tank top, so this is the only reasoning I can think of for what happened, but all of a sudden my sister and I heard this loud chittering noise and my sister screamed in pain. Her arm had a small hole with blood streaming down. We were both freaking out and our parents were too far back to know what was going on. A few seconds later 2 men came from around the corner of the trail and were surprised to see us. They said they were "shooting at birds" and that they thought my sister was a bird. They said sorry and got out of there pretty quick, probably not wanting to get in trouble for shooting a little girl. Fucking cowards. When our stepmom saw my sister bleeding, she was PISSED and tried to chase down the men but they were long gone.
The story of the psychosis-affected aunt is, to me, one of the few genuinely disturbing stories I've listened to. I listen to a lot things like this, hours upon hours of stories but most of them are things in the background that I just kinda have playing, tune a couple out too because they just don't do anything to cause me to focus on it. Stories like that one though just make me squirm while I listen to the details. I'm not done with the video while I'm writing this so ik there are probably some other ones that might have the same affect but if that wasn't painful to listen to idk what would be.
that one is...truly gut wrenching. hes read it before. i want to skip it but its so horrifyingly captivating, like some slow motion car crash i cant turn away.
The fact they left her there with that dangerous and delusional aunt makes me so mad. Like a locked door is gonna do anything, clearly it didn’t. She was a 14 yr old kid, her mother is a doctor and should’ve known better. I hope she blames herself for choosing her abusive mother and still trying to get her approval over protecting her own daughter. I hope that hit haunts her just as much as it has haunted the OP. That story really upset me like few others have.
@@illbeyourstumbleine I agree. Totally irresponsible and stupid. But it sounds like she comes from a pretty toxic family when listening to the first part of the story. The sentence, "I was too young to tell my parents no" kind of gave it away for me. I hate bum parents who don't do their job.
Robert Maudsley tho!!! I actually listened and read a lot about him. I’m not even mad about him. He never ate the brains from what I read. And if I remember correctly he had reasons to kill the two inmates. He’s doing fairly well now. Apparently had a lot of contact through letters with a nephew I believe. I feel bad for him really. I wish he had more time to handle some of the guys that went after children and women😢🤷🏻♀️
The Salcombe murder is honestly horrific, I feel so much for that jogger. The story is actually horrific: _Alternative therapist Jemma Mitchell hit 67-year-old devout Christian Mee Kuen Chong over the head with a weapon at her London home and left her decapitated and badly decomposed body in woods in Salcombe_ _The prosecution claimed 38-year-old Mitchell had planned to murder the vulnerable divorcee and fake her will to inherit the bulk of her estate worth more than £700,000. She came up with the plan after Ms Chong, who was known as Deborah, backed out of giving her £200,000 to pay for repairs to Mitchell’s £4 million dilapidated family home_ _Jemma Mitchell, a trained osteopath, boasted online of her award-winning skill in human dissection_ Like actually horrific, but she was found guilty in October 2022. She was first woman in the UK to be sentenced live on television and only the second person to be sentenced live on television in UK history, so that’s… something. She’s been sentenced to a minimum of 34 years, at time of sentencing she was 38, so she won’t be out of prison before the age of 72, but that is the MINIMUM sentencing as she’s likely to be imprisoned indefinitely as she has shown no remorse, so most likely to leave prison in a box.
The one about the drugged out psychotic aunt reminds me of something my dad said during a visit we were on. He told me he believed drugs like meth or psychedelics can open you up to evil beings that want to do you harm. He believes this because of how my mom behaved and the nightmares we all had living with her. It gave me chills listening to it all because my mom did so many disturbing things (nowhere near as disturbing as this of course) when I lived with her claiming it was to cleanse the house or to cleanse me and my family. One thing was burning sage in my room and not airing it out, knowing full well that it burned in my lungs (I'm an asthmatic) and she often thought it was funny to see us fighting each other or getting hurt. Regardless of if you believe in demons or the supernatural, drugs can make the nicest people into monsters,
i live in plymouth, uk. that has never happened here we've had a couple big crimes but its rare and never been a serial killer... to my limited 30 year knowledge. not often our city gets a mention tho, was a refreshing surprise, thankyou.
Those hunters deserved a harsher punishment they were definitely lying a horse doesn't look like a deer just because of the coloring sounds like they wanted to commit more crimes than that but when they realized her mother was coming they made up a flimsy excuse rip Custard 💛
Well, if you can’t prove it in court then you can’t charge someone with any crime. There are two sides to the story. It was most likely a hunting accident, hunting accidents do happen. Sometimes people get shot. The fact that the person telling the story says “they don’t deserve 2nd amendment rights” is nonsense and that’s not how it works in this country. The federal government actually has no power or authority to strip citizens of their God given rights. Let us instead ban alcohol sales and alcohol consumption as it leads to far more deaths and violence than guns do.
To Custard's person... Please seek counseling and work hard to heal❤ ! Maybe you could start a horse sanctuary and save other horses in Custard's name...God Bless You 🙏🙏🙏
As a hunter i can confirm that there is zero chance that they didn't kill that horse Custard intentionally. Glad she had them locked up that's disgusting.
Finally coming back around, it's been about 7 ish months since I've last been here, hoping you will help my baby sleep too, as I've listened to you for years!! I think 6? Maybe 7 years now 🙊
This video was probably the most brilliant one I've heard yet. Nicely done, sir! Also, if the story with the tweaker aunt is really true -- and I'm inclined to believe it is -- that's one brave girl to share her story and all the intimate details with us. Thanks so much to her for her vulnerability. It's a testament to her strength. Thanks so much to ALL the legitimate stories in this video. Well, the non-legit stories were also entertaining and creepy as hell. Thanks for those too!😊
The decapitated body found in the woods is definitely real, so I’m honestly happy hearing at least one real story _Alternative therapist Jemma Mitchell hit 67-year-old devout Christian Mee Kuen Chong over the head with a weapon at her London home and left her decapitated and badly decomposed body in woods in Salcombe_ _The prosecution claimed 38-year-old Mitchell had planned to murder the vulnerable divorcee and fake her will to inherit the bulk of her estate worth more than £700,000. She came up with the plan after Ms Chong, who was known as Deborah, backed out of giving her £200,000 to pay for repairs to Mitchell’s £4 million dilapidated family home_ _Jemma Mitchell, a trained osteopath, boasted online of her award-winning skill in human dissection_ Like what an actually horrific case, but she was found guilty in October 2022. The story about the lady with the hole in her stomach is the most disturbing and disgusting thing I’ve ever heard in my life, and that’s saying a lot. I almost lost my dinner from that one.
Robert did the world a favour and quite frankly he shouldn't be demonized. I think there is nothing at all worse in life than abusing children! Not even murder imho
The Carpathian hiking story, I'm sure the "people with torches" were likely Rom or Romani, colloquially called Gypsies, though that is actually an insult. They are known for being extremely private people and in Europe are treated like garbage. WWII hit them as hard as it did the Jewish.people only there are far fewer records from their camps.
The crazy aunt story sounds like a movie. Does not really sound real. It’s so crazy.😱 If real, I don’t see how that poor girl has a life after. I would never leave my home. Horrible!! The way you told it had me right there and seeing everything. You are a great storyteller!!😎💙
I hope nothing bad is gonna happen to Custard. I love Custard because it's name is Custard. Too cute. I paused to type this, hit play, and the first thing read was why Custard is named Custard and I love it even more. Omg.
As creepy as your storys are I find your voice rather soothing I listen to these while I'm working and 12 hours of running plywood goes by a lot quicker thanks to you love you man
Can I ask, how do you deal with the stigma/hatred over 'Gypsies' /Romanian 'not'? I only have limited experience but particularly in Paris (where world is focused right now) I saw just downright abuse? I, as an Aussie want to stand against any form of oppression/hurt..
I liked touring Romania but some of it was down right scary. Would be on one street, having it all lit up, then turn the corner and it would be super medieval dark with people hiding in closed buildings and apartment building alcoves. Visited Transylvania and Wallachia to sight see Vlad the Impaler's buildings, battle areas, and other Dracula related things. Some of the stuff up in the Carpathian Mountains was pretty creepy. Even went monk's convent so a female (that I was trying to date) could light a candle for someone who wasn't with her any more. But there was something wrong with the monks. There was an air of something wrong and that violence could happen at any moment. They stared at the females with us and stood very close to us. Almost like they were thinking about grabbing one of the girls and running away with one. We would be talking and as naturally as we could walk and stand between them as a physical barrier. Later in another town we heard that the worst of the the monks ended up there due to little interaction with the public (not many visitors, and the ones that are, are usually men) and that many of them have major problems with their chastity vows but also have sexually assaulted others from men to women to children. But in a country that goes from 1sr world to 3rd world the Orthodox Church was more able to hide problem monks away before the government/police are told or get wind of said monk.
That sounds very true. Look how often different religion's have covered up abuse over different times and area's. To save their reputations rather than people. Sounds awful having monks invade your personal space......

@Benny-Boo72😂😂
The story about Custard absolutely broke my heart!!!
Missed opportunity to say, "Instead of finding something to warm your bones, you might find the bones of somebody else."
This channel kicks ass!! Great story telling!!
That ending though. The uplifting music with the birds.
Really softens the blow of the video ending.
This is soooo good to sleep to.
Guards demanding safer conditions, when it’s the guards’ abuse causing violent reactions, is next level.
Right? 💯
Who else is listening to this while they off and enjoying their memorial day today?
Yes : ) hope you’re having a great memorial day

I listen to these while I'm doing chores and I swear it's the best way to get through them. Thanks Let's Read
Exactly!
Man, I'm so upset about the one with the horse. Those hunters should have gotten some jail time. That was very malicious and irresponsible. I'm so sad for that girl. What a traumatic experience.
Jail time for accidentally shooting a horse in a hunting accident?? Seems hardly fair.
Even people get shot in hunting accidents. No jail time.
Recovering from a brain injury not allowed to look at my phone much, I enjoy your stories
I SUSPECT Horse Custard was shot to incapacitate the young girl, thinking she as alone. Her mother’s arrival may have saved her.
No. Probably not true. It’s an interesting thought though.
@@michaelvanmastrigt7591 what's your theory then?
You do realize this is a storytelling yt channel, right? None of it is real you sucker.
sweet dreams everyone and as always
Thank you Joel
Sweat dreams? Considering its a creepy story telling channel it should be haunted dreams. (Joke)
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who falls asleep to scary stories
That’s INSANE. Please tell me you caught the men eventually and pressed charges
@@ZaraKarim-qw5fj Not even remotely, unfortunately
I've listened to all your narration compilations on here and this has to be one of my new favourites 👌👍
A very good story. Thank you.
🖤🐾🎧O my gosh you had me at Carpathian mountains!
The meth aunt! Wtf, poor girl I hope she heals bless her heart ❤️ her aunt was a demon 😈 her family was nuts for leaving her alone with that monster
The Salcombe murder is honestly horrific, I feel so much for that jogger. The story is actually horrific:
_Alternative therapist Jemma Mitchell hit 67-year-old devout Christian Mee Kuen Chong over the head with a weapon at her London home and left her decapitated and badly decomposed body in woods in Salcombe_
_The prosecution claimed 38-year-old Mitchell had planned to murder the vulnerable divorcee and fake her will to inherit the bulk of her estate worth more than £700,000. She came up with the plan after Ms Chong, who was known as Deborah, backed out of giving her £200,000 to pay for repairs to Mitchell’s £4 million dilapidated family home_
_Jemma Mitchell, a trained osteopath, boasted online of her award-winning skill in human dissection_
Like actually horrific, but she was found guilty in October 2022.
People can be truly evil😡
Yay just in time my son is down for a nap 😍🫶🏽

Let’s Read is the Greatest of All Time.
Boo!:)
I concur friend lol
So, I grew up with horses. There's NO way that you can confuse a cremello for a deer. They're nearly white, absolutely NOT a colour of a deer.
To Custard's person... Please seek counseling and work hard to heal❤ ! Maybe you could start a horse sanctuary and save other horses in Custard's name...God Bless You 🙏🙏🙏
How can a hunter be so careless, so reckless to shoot an animal that has a person riding it? Why no prison sentence? What a joke our legal system is.
Poor Custard 😢 I don't blame her for thinking of him every day!

Thanks for those too!😊
I was thinking the same thing. Like literally out of dozens I’ve heard so far this tops them by far
The decapitated body found in the woods is definitely real, so I’m honestly happy hearing at least one real story

A very good story. Thank you.

YOU ARE MY FAVORITE NARRATOR! Thank You For Doing What You Do! PLEASE DONT EVER STOP!
Okay as a Romanian I will never go to that park in the first story ty 🥰
Can I ask, how do you deal with the stigma/hatred over 'Gypsies' /Romanian 'not'? I only have limited experience but particularly in Paris (where world is focused right now) I saw just downright abuse? I, as an Aussie want to stand against any form of oppression/hurt..
Really enjoyed these! Thank you
I liked touring Romania but some of it was down right scary.
This sounds like a classic case of outsider looking in, none of what you described is a concern for a native.
Arrogant foreigners...
