  • People from all over the world are retiring in Panama! They are discovering the affordable and comfortable lifestyle available in Panama.
    Laurie and Tony moved from Hong Kong to Panama just before Panama shut down the borders because of the Covid pandemic. They lived in El Valle for a few months until they could get to the Pearl Islands where they had a house-sitting gig lined up. A few months of living at the beach made them realize that they would prefer to live in the highlands where the weather is mild all year.
    Now, they live in Volcan Panama in a furnished two-bedroom house on a 5-acre potato farm where they pay $625 rent. Tony said you can't even get a parking place for that much in Hong Kong!

    With global upheaval and inflation it's good to see you made it to Panama. Best to find your sanctuary before things go south, in this case going south is good but you know what I mean. Can't wait to get to Panama, just need our ducks in order!!!

    I'm looking at country after country and I keep coming back to Panamá. No matter which country I'm looking at, everyone says they're in the best place for them. I just don't know. Everyplace looks good to me. 🤔

    We also have 5 dogs (4 chihuahuas and a boxer mix) and are considering a move to Boquete/Volcan area in the next 3 years. I have worried that we would never find a place to rent with 5 dogs. This gives me some hope.

    Thanks for the vids!
    Question... a US citizen, Can I come for 6 months, leave and come back after a certain amount of time, does your time start over?

    • @PanamaRelocationTours
      @PanamaRelocationTours  3 роки тому +2

      You can be a tourists in Panama for 180 days. Then you need to leave for 30 days before you can come back. That's called a border hop. You can do 1 border hop per year.

    I'm Canadian born Chinese (speaks English and Cantonese), and I'm researching possible places to retire early :) I'm just wondering what it's like in Panama for Asians; are there any recommended communities/areas?

    • @laurielemmlie-leung7554
      @laurielemmlie-leung7554 3 роки тому +1

      There are >200,000 Chinese in Panama (5% of the population) many are 3rd or 4th generation. They live everywhere. I don't think there is a "Chinatown" anywhere in Panama, so I wouldn't base where you choose to settle based the Asian population.
