During my first year last year, my biggest regret was taking so much work home. Thankfully, I’ve been much better this year about keeping boundaries between work and home life, which has made me become more efficient during work hours.
Thanks for sharing this! In the second month of my internship and I'm definitely learning WHY boundaries are super important, especially when you want to learn and participate in so much so early on!
Would love a video of how you stay organized and on top of due dates, timelines, etc! Also how you spread out your testing and report writing! I start my first year in the field on Monday and I feel confident in my abilities, but keeping track of multiple cases and due dates has me stressed 😖
great video idea! it's still something i'm working on but i can share some of my tips and tricks so far. you definitely need to be organized or have a system to get everything done!
I'm a high school student interested in the field and it was helpful to know about your experience on the job! Congrats for making it through your first year!
All of your videos are extremely helpful but this one especially! I start my internship in about 3 weeks and definitely will be taking these points into consideration!
Hi Tiffany, congrats on finishing up your first year! 🥳 is your district holding IEP meetings virtually or in-person? It would be super helpful to know how you have been presenting report findings. I’m about to start internship and feel super nervous about presenting data/explaining what the results mean…thanks!
This is something I'm still working on perfecting but I'll see if I can come up with some tips for everyone! I would love to maybe gather some info from some more veteran psychs as well. My meetings are mostly virtual with some in person when parents request
Hi Tiff! I've been watching your videos since last year and just wanted to thank you for your transparency in all the videos you make! It's helped soothe my anxiety about school psych related things so often haha! I was wondering, how were you feeling about being pregnant your first year and having to leave? Did anyone make you feel guilty at all? It sounds like everyone was super supportive, but it's more of a question for when I start working. I feel like I'd just feel so guilty leaving work and I've read some posts about how people make subtly rude comments about those things D:
Hey! Please feel free to DM me if you want to have a conversation about this! I could also make a video on this topic. I definitely felt a lot of guilt and imposter syndrome, especially being new to the school and job. I had to take time off to go to doctor's appointments and had days when I couldn't focus or work as much because I felt sick. Thankfully, everyone I work with has been very understanding and supportive, as they should- education is majority female and they should be used to people going on mat leave. After I had my baby though, most of the guilt went away because my baby became my #1 priority and work came second.
Hello Tiffany! I am also thinking of having my third baby during my first year but I also feel guilty. Your comment make me feel better tho! Congrats on being a momma 😊
Love your content!! QQ... Would it be okay with you if I share a link to your channel in my Descriptions on my UA-cam videos for school psychs? If so, do you want to send me exactly what you would like me to share? My goal is to get as many resources out to the field as possible. Thanks for all you are doing and well wishes for the start of the new school year! I still have two weeks remaining in my summer but know many have returned.
A link to my channel would be amazing! You can maybe label it school psych youtuber and include my channel website? If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me an email @ tiffanyjleee@gmail.com. Thank you 💞💞
@@TiffanyLee Definitely! I have added your link to the Description box for some of my earlier school psych related content and the video that goes live on Friday. I will definitely keep it active and feel free to let me know if you want me to change it up at all. Hoping your year starts off down a productive and fun pathway. I send you a quick email. Let's stay in touch!
