The documentary was filmed by Croatian TV in the Napa Valley, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC, and his birthplace in Desne, Croatia. Selected for "Special Award" at the 2013 Oenovideo International Grape & Wine Film Festival. Like the Old Vine describes Grgich s extraordinary life, achievements and how his American Dream became a reality. The documentary also shows some interesting unpublished facts about the 1976 Paris Tasting.
