New to PvE in NW. How do you decide which weapons to use in which expeditions? I know mob types are weak to damage types, but I didn't think Laz mobs were weak to slash/thrust. Do you just use whatever build is strong and not really worry about that? Or do you ever swap weapon gems to match weaknesses? Just trying to figure out BiS, or at least strong weapon setups for each expedition.
I'm not sure. I just came back to the game. I just google mob type damage weaknesses and things pop up showing which damage/element type expedition mobs are weak to. If those are old, then I'm not sure. Can you just play whatever you want to play in any of these expeditions?@@Fabut
@@_starsy_ Ah so weaknesses are still a thing, like Ancients are weak to Strike, Angry Earth to Slash, and so on. Ancients also take more damage from lightning. What I got confused about were the resistances which got removed. From my understanding all resistances (so reduced dmg from certain weps) got removed so it's either you're doing normal dmg or bonus dmg. I looked around and asked and it seems like you still want want to go corresponding weapons for dungeons if you want to min-max. I was told by someone as DPS they like to go spear DMG on Corrupted (thrust weakness) and Greatsword on Angry Earth (slash weakness). For Lazarus/Lost it seems like bonus damage is Strike (which is only warhammer I think) so that's the dungeon where people bring whatever, mainly being GS/Spear/Rapier/Hatchet I think.
Question, for slotting runeglass onto your weapons are you doing lightning damage for that specific dungeon or for all of them? If a mutated becomes lightning wouldn't it make you do less damage? Is it possibly better to take the one that gives bonus melee dmg?
Lightning mutation does not currently exist. But even if it did, resistances like that have been removed. A nature mutation will not reduce the arboreal attunement damage.
@@benedictg Gotcha thanks. I had another question.. if you're using GS as your main DPS have you considered taking Enfeebling Skewer over Bleeding Sweep? I feel like Skewer's dmg reduction is pretty insane (46-50% or something I believe)
It's mostly the tank that has to be predictable in the way he angles the mobs etc. But yes the sacred has to be well placed to cover dps and tank, preferably. In Laz this week you will basically self-heal full with a single heavy attack.
Slash on ring is an empower. You're already over empower cap on Serenity. I'm three points away from being able to do 300/300/50 atm - keep in mind I get +10 +10 on each attribute line so 25 con is actually just 10 extra con, as is the case with Int.
unfortunately it's because of players like you that new world is losing players who don't understand that the game is designed for pvp you are stuck doing the same dungeon 1000 times it's ridiculous while pve at the base and just there for help you do pvp

Why not run 350 dex for the extra crit chance while empowered since serenity has trenchant crits?
350 dex would be nice but with the level of magnify I have it is not attainable without losing out on too much strength. 300/300 > 200/350

I don't understand the madness of doing the same dungeon for 2 years 400x in a loop go pvp the basis of new world is pvp!!
PVP is super boring its the same thing over and over the majority of players play PVE not pvp.

no PVP is only for a small group of players most players enjoy PVE more.
