For Arno you forgot when he walks into a templar safe house filled with hay and gunpowder and sets the place on fire while he's still inside near no exits.
Yeah Jacob wasn’t the brightest. He did make bad decisions. I do agree with you, but despite his decisions, he’s an interesting character I don’t hate. Good video as well
@@potatochip4467 Literally born into an assassin family, with a big legacy to live up to that he can never do anything with. He isn’t the brightest, and definitely more of a brawler, but an assassin nonetheless. His execution of the creed is arguable, but when paired with his twin- hell rains down. So yes- he is interesting.
Arno made the most dumb decisions all for a girl. Jacob also is pretty dumb and has many preventable mistakes. He was always too reckless. Edward is probably one of the smartest. He is the epitome of fake it till you make it. He casually pretended to be a high level assassin for potential treasure then actually became a real high level assassin because why not. Ezio is someone who will admit he has done many dumb things, but he is truly the most wisest assassin and has the most creed experience. His development from a reckless kid turned legendary assassin proves he has much wisdom.
@@harsh111yt ehhh thats a bit foggy, but I'm pretty sure Ezio would be the wisest, I mean revelations strengthens my point since Ezio learnt what Altair has and more and then we have the speeches and whatnot, but Ezio would probably say that
@@master_chief723 No he is just saying his opinion even though I don't agree. Edward was very lucky as an assassin but he also had the easiest job compared to most of the assassins.
Jacob isn't much different than Edward, except that Edward didn't have Evie to clean up his mistakes. Forcing Edward to have to solve his own problems and I n turn growing as a character. Had there been no Evie, Jacob could have been a great character like Edward. It's because of the character growth that happens to Edward that make him my favorite assassin in the series.
problem is when they wrote jacob fry, it was originally only supposed to be just him, the sister story was added into the fold because Ubisoft were trying to get more women into the game. Ubisoft admits this themselves when they talk about games with the main protagonist as a women doesn't really sell and their right, unless she dresses sexy and badass, so they pretty much took one character, "Jacob" and split him and his personality into Evie. so if you really think about it, Evie and Jacob are the same person, which means Jacob wasn't originally written to be incompetent as we know him as he exists.
Honestly Ezio’s dumb moments is what made him such a good character seeing as he went from just a young adult having fun to having everything change and his life flipped upside down it was really relatable
Honestly for me the Ezio is more recless (and dumber or more cruel) the times go on... why? At the begining he is childish dumb but then he learn and plan his steps... In AC Brotherhood he reclessly start a battle inside of city just to catch one guy... In AC Revelation - he destroy whole fleet of ships, start a riot which lead to dead of many innocent people and in the end he set fire inside the cave city which kills almost everybody in that city... innocent or not... So for me even tho he becoming smarter when it comes to knowledge - but he is becoming less carying, more ignorat toward peoples lifes...and therefore dumber
In the jack the ripper dlc, jacob has near to no time during the first mission to lay out all the clues and leads evie uses to eventually stop jack... he's far from stupid. People forget reckless and stupid are different. We could all be called stupid when in reality we were just young and reckless. If anything that dlc shows Evie as stupid. She literally makes every mistake jacob made in the base game, and she couldnt even figure out that "jack the lad" was "jack the ripper." Smarts... these lists often turn into bias spews of " this character good because I like them." And as for connor, he is far from stupid.
@Domonkos Kozma respectfully I disagree. Ezio did far more harm then Jacob did, and at an older and supposedly "wiser" age. He destoyed 2 cities pretty much. Amd for what? To kill 1 man? Right... not to mention that when ezio was around jacobs age, he pretty much got his family killed, and when he was a bit older, he let the pope get away, allowing his other family to be killed... not a winning streak of smarts is it.
@@chrismoore5333 nah ezio let him go because he inherently isnt a bad guy and doesnt like to kill people. He does because he has to. You can tell in that scene that he just wants it to be over. So he lets him go. But then again he was still soft compared to brotherhood and revelations
@@tomboterkoek8054 let's be honest Ezio can't decide what he thinks. 1 minute it's "revenge" and the next it's "I'm over this." He's like an over excited but indecisive child in a toy store. Bless him.
If we are talking of Assassins when they were in their prime then I think Altaïr is the smartest. Some already said that arrogance and recklessness shouldn’t be confused with dumbness and I agree to a point. Altaïr is already one of the youngest to become a mentor and leader. He became a Master Assassin at a very young age which just made him very arrogant and made him reckless. But as he humbles and becomes wiser though the first game he betters himself. Also he learned a lot from the Apple. Let’s not forget that he wrote the codex that had a big influence on Ezio’s progress to become an Assassin.
So unironically Jacob is one of my favorite assassin’s, he does have depth that no one else has in the same way. Mostly while he is reckless, he still does what needs to be done in the end. He worked with Roth, but when Roth crosses the line he kills him. Same thing with Pearl attaway. Take it for what you will but he’s one of my favorites It’s rather clear (to me anyway) that he didn’t really aspire to be an assassin. He was born into it. I mean Ezio, Connor, Edward, etc chose to be assassins.
@@SorowFame you do make a good point and I agree with you. The point stands, regardless of his feelings he still did what needed to be done as an assassin.
@@SorowFame honestly tho, i think if she wouldnt have been eploiting him for power, he wouldve spared her because he seemed to genuinely enjoy her company.
I agree, Jacob didn't really seem too interested in the Assassin cause, probably because he was born in to the Creed like Desmond. Desmond even said there was a big difference and he wished he chose to join himself instead of being born in to the Creed in Valhalla.
With Jacob I think you should take into consideration the Jack the Ripper DLC after all we're seeing him in the main game when he's like 19 years old 20 years old I know he looks about 45 because of the design choices but he's meant to be a young assassin the more responsible version depicted dim the Jack the Ripper DLC is actually the archetype of a good assassin caring empathetic yet practical and efficient
problem is when they wrote jacob fry, it was originally only supposed to be just him, the sister story was added into the fold because Ubisoft were trying to get more women into the game. Jacob is young I feel, he is more reckless and everything but even he has limits during Jack the Ripper DLC he laid out clues for Evie so I would yeah he has a bit of a younger personality but he is quite definitely smart when he needs to be.
From my perspective, at least Jacob actually has his sister Evie. Arno doesn't have anyone, and makes horrible decisions that actively compromise the order. Arno is worse than Jacob in the base level.
@@memecliparchives2254 the only dumb decision arno made is falling in love with Elise, But what does that have to do with the game being overrated or not?
@@Artryomthat’s the only game people talk about in the franchise. But it doesn’t even have the best mechanics for parkour but everyone calls it great because of the animations.
I actually like Jacob because he reminds me of Ezio, when he jumped on that gatling gun it gave me flashbacks to AC II as a kid. Now you gotta do a Which Assassin would win.
Jacob comes across like Ezio was when you start AC2. Full of passion but lacking in how to properly channel it. Ezio was picking fights with the Pazzi boys and it takes a short while in game time and years in story for him to learn to temper his impulsive nature. Syndicate takes place over a far shorter timeframe and it’s the bulk of Jacob content in the whole franchise, so we’re not going to see the full development Ezio got in AC2 for Jacob.
@@jbcatz5 Jacob deserved a dlc set after when he was older. He needed that far more then evie did. If not, he deserves to be brought back for his own short story, like AC chronicles or perhaps as a dlc or part of a new game.
@@jbcatz5 Actually, I hope not. I hate kassandra with a passion. And considering 90% of old fans (AC1-AC origins) hate odyssey and are less then keen on kassandra or her being a walking canon breaking error, it would be a insanely bad idea to crossover odyssey over with any of the old games.
@@chrismoore5333 Jacob has a child, most likely a son as his granddaughter has the surname Frye. This could be an angle for the meeting, as Kassandra had to give up her own child for his safety, but here is someone raising their child in a dangerous field and essentially indoctrinating them. What Kassandra could say on that would be interesting commentary on the ways of the Brotherhood as we know through Desmond it’s not a fun way to grow up. Plus, if Jacob is on better terms with his sexuality it’s something Kassandra wouldn’t blink an eye at as Odyssey only determines the gender of a love interest by the character gender in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC (where the story requires there has to be a female and a male to conceive a son). If the timeframe is around the 1890’s, that opens up Arthur Conan Doyle (author of the Sherlock Holmes stories), Oscar Wilde (a Piece of Eden like the Shroud influencing The Picture of Dorian Grey, and both the Fryes and Kassandra know what the Shroud does) etc as guest characters. Jacob and/or Kassandra could inspire The Empty House, the story that explained how Holmes survived the Reichenbach Falls and reunited with Watson to resume business as usual. There’s actually some pretty interesting parallels between that story and Kassandra’s.
This is exactly why I enjoyed Jacob the most. I’m playing through Unity for the first time. I’m not very far yet, but Arno started out roguish and fun, but now that I’m an assassin he’s serious and stoic.
Great video, however I kinda disagree with Edward and particularly Arno Edward: Manipulated two secret orders for his own gain. His greed gave him tunnel vision for most of the game, but his plans to get riches were well thought out and tactical Arno: Definitely driven by emotion, which made him impulsive, but not necessarily dumb. Similar to Edward, his plans were well planned out. When his plans went south, it was either because he let his emotions get the better of him, or because there was information he didn’t know about. Not knowing particular details made him more so unprepared rather than dumb Alas, great video as always :-)
Not to mention that A. Elise educated him on how to handle things in a more politically savvy way, as made clear with Robespierre. B. Arno is a honest-to-god detective. There are like, 14 murder mystery cases in Paris, and Arno Holmes Madman Dorian solves ALL of them. I’d actually put him as one of the smarter assassins on that alone.
Arno? Nah, Arno definitely did some dumb stuff, i remember when he infiltrated a templar hideout full of gunpowder and he set it on fire while he's still inside and no exit lmao 😂
I was thinking the same thing, like bro just because you figured revenge is bad actually, doesn't mean you shouldn't kill someone you know is very, very dangerous
@@HisRoyalMajestyKingofWeedshire And if he killed Rodrigo, Ezio would have just granted him mercy and Cesare would have attacked anyway. And Rodrigo won't be there to poison him which indirectly helped Ezio to finally take down Cesare.
Ezio is my fav but he did some dumb things like sparing Rodrigo which lead to death of his uncle Mario plus more deaths and chaos in monteriggioni, he was literally responsible for deaths of so many innocent ppl when he burned cappadocia with gunpowder in revelations.
Seriously. He’s an assassin. Assassins kill templars. It doesn’t matter if he’s unarmed and defenseless, he’s the freaking grandmaster of the order! Most of the people Ezio killed weren’t even aware they were there. He’s killed with poison, bombs, etc. But killing an unarmed old man is somehow going too far?
That's because his death wouldn't have been historically accurate. That scene is my only criticism of the trilogy and was simply lazy writing. How many poor hapless guards who probably had wives and kids who were just doing their jobs maintaining law and order, Ezio had killed but then he lets the evil pope who got his family killed live. That makes no sense. Instead it should've been set up so that borgia escapes somehow in the final confrontation.
Even though Jacob was not the brightest because he was reckless he's also the one who did the most damage to the London Templars. He wiped out more of them than Evie since she was more focused on finding the Shroud.
Exactly. I see a lot of people who call Jacob the weakest assassin in the series, but, if you look past his goofy nature, he's one of the deadliest. He almost singlehandedly wiped out one of the strongest Templar Orders in the series - Starrick's Order was powerful enough to topple the British monarchy and he ran essentially the whole of London, during a time period when Britain was the strongest nation on Earth. I know Jacob obviously had Evie with him, but she was focused entirely on finding the Shroud of Eden with Henry. With the exception of Lady Thorne, Jacob was the one who killed Starrick's henchmen and freed London from the control of the Blighters. The guy was the definition of a one-man army.
I think Jacob is a little bit smarter than some give him credit for. He does seem to have the capabilities of running a massive street gang (his Rooks) and in the Jack the Ripper DLC, he's shown to be able to train and mentor assassins (though he's not exactly great at choosing them).
Okay Jacob was dumb but I liked him better than Evie (I didn't have a crush on him) he was just so fun like: the police man aka Freddie: I'll meet you at the rooftop. Jacob: aww Freddie you're such a romantic. I mean come on who doesn't like a fun character in that hellhole of a world the assassins had to save
I think Jacob is the dumbest but I honestly think he’s under appreciated. He complimented Evie quite well and I think his fighting capabilities were at a necessary level to combat with their enemies.
I personally think Arno is the dumbest but that's my opinion. You cant really count young Ezio too much because he was a spoiled headstrong aristocrat. But then life hit him like a freight train and he hit back harder. Evie and Jacob balanced each other out and I think that was the whole point of their dynamic. Jacob was more street smart and great at improvisation while Evie was more about tactics and carefully crafted plans
This is really between Connor the Naive, Jacob the Reckless and Arno the Rebellious simp BUT I think Jacob still takes this by a mile. He is just lucky he has Evie doing her stuff AND solving his mess as well.
Syndicate does take place over a short period of time, the shortest timeframe for a main series entry, and we’re seeing him when he’s in his early 20’s. The other games take place over a number of years so the protagonists have more time to develop as characters. It’d be like if Assassin’s Creed II only covered the first year of Ezio’s Assassin career, we wouldn’t have nearly as much character development.
Yup as soon as I saw the title, it's gotta be Jacob, honestly I'm glad that you mentioned Roth as well cos I felt he is a very interesting character from Syndicate
For me I loved Jacob, I was amazing at fighting in syndicate so being able to just let loose on a bunch of AI felt good after a long day but yes I do agree he definitely was not the smartest assassin but sometimes it’s not about being smart it’s about being FUN
Jacob and Evie are some of my favorite assassins. The backdrop of Victorian England is some of the best window dressing, but they deserved a better game with more character development and missions together and fewer chores (i.e. collectibles overload). We didn't get enough of them working together and showing why they work better together than apart. However, their fight doesn't make a ton of sense either. Wouldn't it just make sense to divide and conquer while providing support to each other's missions along the way? Evie is clearly the more scholarly of the two. So her focusing on the Pieces of Eden makes sense. Jacob is charismatic and charming. So it makes sense for him to rally the poor and working-class to rise up against their oppressors. They touch on the plights of the poor and the brutality of British industry and colonialism, but not enough. You can't do that and still have Victoria as an ally at the end. Having the characters of Henry Green and Duleep Singh are moves in the right direction but I wished we'd seen them more. Also, a move in the right direction towards bisexuality with Jacob and interracial romance with Henry and Evie, but again, not (nearly) far enough. I think these characters are worth seeing again, but not where we make an actual serial killer who actually and brutally killed poor and vulnerable women, a playable character.
Fun fact: Ubisoft created Jacob by mixing the personalities of edward kenway and ezio auditore so that people will love him but idk why people are into evie more
jacob definitely takes the crown since the story of syndicate is basically jacob killing everyone while destroying everything and evie has to clean after him every mission. if evie wasnt there, jacob probably did more damage to london than the templars would have
I liked that you defended him a little, I feel like it is an accurate result. Even though I don’t think he’s as dumb as people say I think he kills some of the same targets as every other Assassin but we don’t see people complain about them taking out the head of a medical system like Altaïr did where I feel it’s an unfair complaint that he screws things up because other Assassins Creeds they didn’t seem to be as weak in the area as much as them where there was only 3 Assassin’s where Altaïr you don’t see him like pick out someone to fill the void either when he kills a target it might be someone else’s job like the informants we see I the city because they’ve been there and know about the area that likely it’s their job to find any replacements that might be where Greenie it’d likely be his job because he’s not even really a field agent more of an informant who builds connections. Where really mostly Connor had the most similar circumstances but it was during the revolutionary war where there was already two sides and people still figuring out their roles where the system already wasn’t completely defined in a period of adjustment. Where it’s also so odd that Jacob killing one person could take out a whole system like again with the doctor as if there wasn’t a doctor even close as trained or any other doctors just getting into their careers looking for jobs that it also doesn’t really make too much sense that only the Assassin’s can fix everything makes the British system in Victorian London look so weak.
Arno is easly one of the smartest assassin. His reflexions about the credo prove it But like you say, he is driven by emotions. His anger and love influence his choices too much. But at the end of Unity, when his enemy and his lover died, he was freed from his past and became another man
I knew you were going to say Jacob but I think it's actually arno. Jacob may be reckless but he gets the job done, and isn't as mistake prone as you'd thing, especially near the end of the game. And the tone of syndicate is alot lighter than thr rest of the games so he seems dumb in comparison to his peers but isn't in comparison to his world (if that makes any sense) Arno on the other hand fucks up constantly and actually always makes trouble for everyone. Jacob conquered London, arno got kicked out of the order
That's why Syndicate is so dumb, in Unity, Arno fails but in the end he learns of his mistakes. But Jacob fails and he still conquers London there's literally no major consequences and that's part of what makes Syndicate the worst AC ever.
@@TheHighGroundItself but he doesn't make mistakes, no big fuck ups he's just reckless and he does learn at the end, no by consequences but by a character arc
I love the character development for Arno. We see him as a kid, losing his father, then a broken thief, to a novice assassin to a badass, master assassin in Dead Kings.
You should do a battle royal between all of the assassins (so no demigods or vikings unless you want to write it that they die immediately that’s fine)
I just want to mention that Connor, though naive, is not dumb, he's actually incredibly smart. His fault lies in trusting the wrong people, who took advantage of said trust to further their own goals. Every accomplishment he achieved, he did pretty much alone. He singlehandedly revived the colonial chapter of the brotherhood, and basically saved all of America from the templars and the redcoats.
I liked Jacob a lot. It was a fun break from just sneaking around. The gang brawls were fun and using brass knuckles and canes was nice new way of killing people.
Ezio killing Tarik Barleti was pretty dumb and that was old Ezio. I know it's Jacob before I finish watching, but you left that part out. Also, I'm of the belief that Arno's exile was unjust and the assassin council was in the wrong. Getting permission to kill templar targets? How soft they became. Germain was right in his speech at the end. Anyway, Arno isn't dumb, but the French Brotherhood & Colonial Brotherhood (pre-Connor being mentor) are both dumb.
With all due respect you said that we cant count the dumb things ezio did when he was not an assassin yet you counted edward/arno dumb things when they were not an assassin i mean going from a dumb pirate to the master assassin of england is pretty high iq after edward became and assassin he was smart and wise
Even as a pirate, Edward wasn't dumb. He was arrogant and selfish. He was incredibly smart, but he had little regard for the consequences of his actions
I think Jacob isn’t likely to win a lot in this series besides categories like these, but I think there’s one category that Jacob could understandably get a lot of credit that speaks more to his capability then being something negative. Like who would be the most dangerous Assassin if they switched sides. I think Jacob has a strong claim to that since he like Evie is close to to the head of Police, but where he leads in certain area he is a bit more connected to the gang I’d say reasonably since it was his idea in the first place that Evie was originally against that it that I’d contribute most of the gangs accomplishments to him where he switched sides he’d have likely the stronger control over the gang who have a strong presence across the city at this point, and he also created a lot of the connections to the prostitutes when Evie was away that I just think Jacob could rule the underground pretty easily if he switched sides along with being a trained Assassin I think he could be one of the biggest villains if he switched sides which I think speaks to a certain level of his capability and just being dangerous. I think Ezio would have a strong chance in this category with his similar ability at building powerful Connections along with being even more skilled. Or I think Altaïr already has somewhat a strong backing as well because he already lead a group of Assassins against a different group to bring the order more in balance that he has reasonable claim that a lot of trained Assassins would potentially follow him. I mean Jacob I do think though would have the strongest claim and even when it comes to training new recruits to help him he seems to produce the most dangerous compared to his sister where he was much closer to Jack and we saw how his descendant turned out which Jacob seems like he’d have an impact on what likely gets passed down to them since he stayed in London and was the Master there I think maybe not as strong as a point but definitely still has a lot of Influence on how London Assassin’s throughout the next generation would come out especially his descendant because I’m assuming as Master he also trained his kid who would’ve trained their kid. Where yeah I think Connor also had a claim with his trainees of making powerful allies same with Ezio, and Altaïr, but I think where Jacob leads that is really he seems to have the stronger connections to the underground that he would already have a super strong start as soon as he switched sides because he basically built the Underground gangs and prostitution systems to what they were in Syndicate that he brings a lot with him as soon as he defects to the other side if he ever did.
Yes! I would like to see Edward, Arno and Jacob at the top of a list where there’s some actual respect for them and their role as assassins. That would be nice. I totally agree with that switching sides comment as well. Had he succeeded to become what Roth wanted which was an agent of chaos, he would have been dangerous. Without Evie fixing London, he really did become worrisome for the city.
@@fantasyeve87 yeah and I think there’s plenty of categories where they can all shine. Like Arno I think it’d be nice of like who’s a better detective finding information since he went around Paris solving crimes and how he figured out clues to murders. Bayek would have some reason to for a runner up, Connor with his tracking would be up there, maybe Evie but a lot of clues were left specifically for her by her brother in the Ripper DLC where Jacob already knew and basically handed a lot of what she needed to know to her, and all Assassins did something in this category so it’s fair since they found their targets, but I think it’s a good one that I think Arno really excels at and it’s a skill all assassins need where it is another category which would really show off how capable Arno is. With Edward I think Master Assassin if they did a category like best thinking on the feet I think Edward can just adjust and formulate plans so fast to whatever is situation is that I think that’s a really good one I think Edward has a good chance at winning. Where I think all these Assassins do have something their great about them that makes them special.
@@jde7052 These are all really cool ideas for vids! Would definitely agree. I love them all for their different skills and for different reasons so it would be nice to see that balance instead of just bashing the ones who clearly can’t seem to crack the top 5 in any respectable list with Ezio claiming most of that top spot (not hating, I love Ezio). Not hating on Master here, love his vids, but I’ve yet to see a respectable list from anyone really shining whom I consider the underdogs of the Assassins. They all brought their strengths as well which unfortunately many don’t show much of on these lists. Wouldn’t that be a fun change especially your take on investigation skills and such and considering many assassins HAVE to do this well to get to their target. I frickin’ love that! And most definitely Arno, Connor and even Evie and Jacob can be great here.
@@fantasyeve87 thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it. I also agree, I do really like Master Assassins videos but I would like to see some of these characters that can be considered underdogs brought to the front a bit more since I think they offer more then they get credited for at times. Another video I’d really like to see that’s kind of like the investigation idea that really all the assassins have these skills is infiltration where the discussion can bring a lot of shine on how the various characters go about this essential skill that they’re all skilled at various degrees and some have different methods at others. Like Altaïr you see blend with monks to some times get past guards, Ezio uses various disguises music talent and prostitutes, Connor disguises didn’t work out as well with Haythem but we can still see him use like tree path ways to get across and how he got his recruits to pretend he’s a prisoner to get past guards where he had trouble with disguises but made up for it with how his recruits were trained and how he used them and used the underground network, then Edward had his time pretending to be Duncan and also used prostitutes, Arno how he stole keys and lock picked and created distractions or fogged up a tunnel and such and crowd blend like a lot of Assassins but had certain advantages with the amount of people, twins also did similar things to Arno but had the kidnapping mechanic, then even Bayek had like the bathhouse scene. Where they all have that skill to various degrees and a lot have different strong points that could be discussed, only Altaïr and Bayek the infiltration is a little behind but something they both at least have and could be interesting discussion on debating the best that can give a lot of props to people that don’t always make the top 3 they have a lot of strong points for them in the category and is again an essential skill for Assassins which they really shine in.
@@jde7052 Love this!! I think a few people have been asking for a stealthiest assassin vid which could utilize what you’ve mentioned especially with the infiltration aspect. That would be a great one! I would also love to see best robes for “hiding in plain site,” in which assassin robes can literally be worn in almost any time period and still kind of blend the best. Not perfectly but the best. Not the best video idea but it would be different 🤷🏻♀️ Or which assassin followed all tenants of the creed as effectively as possible regardless on if they pissed off the brotherhood or not. Or who didn’t need as many associates to accomplish taking down a Templar grandmaster. Connor would likely take that crown or be close to it. So so many ideas for the underdogs 😅
According to your rules, Shay can be on the chopping block as well. Now my main issue with him is the turning point where he betrays the brotherhood. Even if you want to make the excuse that he was emotionally distressed when he first confronted Achilles, he had time to think and should've tried to do things different first. He should've went to Achilles and said "Achilles, I apologize for how I acted earlier. It was out of line. However, we need to further examine the relics before doing anything. Haiti being destroyed when someone was sent to retrieve a relic and then the same for Portugal. It can't be a coincidence." At which point, Achilles may agree and the whole BS thing with Shay joining the Templars and killing all his former allies could have been avoided. Now granted, the Assassin's should've listened to Shay, or at least get him to calm down and explain everything, but respect is a two way street.
Dumb implies a lack of intelligence. Jacob isn’t unintelligent, as he does achieve a number of clever assassinations but it’s more he’s not booksmart. He’s more impulsive. Jacob is like start of AC2 Ezio if he was knew about and operated for the Brotherhood. There’s also that he is canonically bi, and in Victorian society it was far more taboo to express the love that dare not say it’s name, so his devil may care attitude may have been to not think about that. His and Evie’s upbringings would also influence their personalities. They grew up in the Brotherhood learning the Creed and the craft of the Assassin, and if it’s anything like how Desmond grew up it’d have been a very regimented upbringing. Evie’s no nonsense right to the point by the book approach would have developed here, but Jacob wouldn’t have had much opportunity to express and grow beyond his exuberance. London was the first time he didn’t need to hold himself and his actions accountable to his superiors, for better and for worse, so he hasn’t learned restraint in how he behaves and acts. It’s like making a kid live on a health diet then they get loose in a candy store, chaos will ensue. Yes, it wasn’t anywhere near smooth but Jacob did play a big part in making London more hospitable for the Assassins after a hundred years of Templar rule.
Oh No Bro The guy who wrote the game says Jacob is bi and the subtext with Maxwell Roth was absolutely intentional. He had to clear it up after an employee in Ubisoft’s Germany branch said otherwise. The official Tumblr account had to settle it by saying “Jacob Frye is bisexual. This is canon.”
Aya and Bayek are also very stupid (and I loved them). Not only they got played hard by Cleopatra, Aya has the idiotic idea to: 1. Kill Caesar. Sure, Caesar was becoming too powerful but he had the people behind him while pissing off the aristocracy. He pardons Brutus and he thanks him being conspiring and killing him. Caesar's death just brought more chaos no only to Rome, she lost Egypt a great ally. 2. Kill Cleopatra. She handed over Egypt to Augustus in a silver plate, who becomes more powerful than Caesar ever was. Aya is literally the sole responsible for 671 years of roman rule in Egypt.
The assassins a lot of times have done more harm then good like killing leaders that could have brought stability and peace also it is one of my personal theories but I think the assassins also helped in the islamic invasions of India and rather than helping the people they only helped their cause which led to a millennia of suffering for the people and they aslo did not help in many places in history where they could have.
Arno - simp. This guy was Mordecai levels of simp. Also he did a lot of things that really screwed everything up. Jacob - not really stupid, but definitely impulsive. Whether that counts as stupid or not depends on who you ask Evie - pretty smart, although some of her actions in the Jack the Ripper dlc were a bit suspect Bayek - definitely not stupid, just very emotional. He wanted to avenge his son and didn’t care what he had to do in order to do it. Cassandra - not smart or stupid, just kind of careless Edward - very intelligent, but immaturity and life among stupid people lead to his lust for money. However, he grew out of that. There is also something to be said about him living so long while everyone else died. Eivor - same as Edward Shay - very smart, but that intelligence led to him joining the Templars. Not like that ever came back to bite him though. Ezio - similar to Edward and Eivor, he started off doing some dumb shit, but matured as time passed Altair - he messed up at first, but he got smarter later on Connor - naive and kind of in over his head, but still showed intelligence sometimes Overall, it’s kind of hard for me to pick, but I would say Arno.
@@majimasimp yeah, so? That doesn’t really matter. Also as far as I can remember he was killed by a group of Templars that burned his house with him in it.

@@Blackguy10 In terms of traditional stealth definitely it is Arno, most of AC Unity's main and coop missions is infiltrating highly guarded buildings and structures. In terms of social stealth would have to be Ezio as he has the most missions in disguises by far.
Dude, Ezio is by far one of the dumbest assassins, he constantly let his targets get away when he could very easily take them down, which usually leads to a lot of innocent deaths: For starters he is captured in the ruin outside San Gimignano, somehow, and mess up a golden opportunity to eliminate the templars right then and there. He only menaged to take out Jacopo de Pazzi... who was already bleeding out on the floor. Well done Ezio, all those years of hunting around Tuscany went right down in the toilette. Hey, remember that one time Ezio stalks the ENTIRE TEMPLAR HIGH COUNCIL for hours (sure felt like it, anyway) while they take a leisurely stroll in Venezia planning the murder of the doge and then he just let's them leave after they are done? WTF? He even calls himself an idiot for letting them get away and he is goddamn right, he could have jumped them all at any point and save the doge, even kill Rodrigo in a second but no, it would be rude to interrupt, I guess. The next three sequences are basically cleaning up after this one idiotic mistake. Not to mention that one time he and the rest of the assassins have Rodrigo cornered, Ezio pulls a one liner and Rodrigo kicks him in the balls and escapes. That scene is so stupid it's unbelievable to me it was allowed to be put in the finished game. To be fair to Ezio, the rest of the assassins also stand around and let Rodrigo run away for no reason, so it just might be that the Italian assassins are fucking idiots by nature. Must be something in the water. Or that one times he murders like a hundred people to be able to kill the Pope, only for sparing him afterwards? Again, for no reason?Which, incidentally, leads to the destruction of Monteriggioni, the murder of Mario, the capture of Caterina Sforza and the loss of the Apple. Remember when he left himself get stabbed by Checco Orsi AFTER he had already killed him, how the hell did he fuck that up? Again, this leads to the loss of the Apple for a full, fucking decade and who knows how many people suffering at the hands of Savonarola's goons. This is just from AC2, and at the top of my head, there's a lot more you can take from Brotherhood and especially Revelations (he fucks up constantly in that game) but now I'm basically just bullying the poor scemo and I feel bad, but he should at least be a candidate for dumbest assassin, if anything because he causes by far the most damage with his stupid, unnecessary and easily preventable mistakes. Btw, you shouldn't make fun of Jacob like that, it's called ableism and it's not cool.
@@gaspenpayne6755 yeah, duh. Jacob is really dumb, so are the modern Ass assins, doesn't make Ezio's blunders any less imbarassing for him. At least Jacob had his big sister cleaning his bum bum every time he shat himself to contain the damage, when Ezio messes up is the uninvolved civilians getting the smell from his dirty crack.
I think Evie stunts jacobs growth cause he matured nicely and became a proper assassin without her interference. Without her bringing down his plans he would’ve had to fix things himself and then he would’ve learned faster.

@@SwiftGundam so dose jacob. Hes not different then altier in the first game. Spends the whole thing killing templars and eventually learns to understand and respect the creed. People used to bully altier the same way they do jacob now. Its silly really, because evie doesn't even kill templars. As jacob says in the game, she literally only goes on dates with Henry and kills one woman she didnt like. If anything evie is a scholar and jacob is an assassin.
@@chrismoore5333 Jacob is a brute. He kills Templars in a manner that does more harm to the city and the people. Not thinking things through or worrying about the consequences. And Evie has to clean up his messes. Heck, he actually helped a Templar in her goals. Yes, he dealt with her but if he had done actual researcher before climbing into her carriage, none of that would've happened in the first place. Heck, even Ned questioned his decision to join up with Attaway without really knowing anything about her.
@@SwiftGundam i agree with that, but you see thats because the assassin and templar goal is the same. Jacob was being naive and hoping for a better out come then what he got. He's only 21. Altier spends the entire first game questioning the creed same as jacob dose. Because for every target altier kills, he creates a new problem for inncoent people and society. Hell, syndicate is literally based on AC1. Jacob is based on altier... this seems bias...
I would have said Connor because for example when George Washington admitted that it was him who killed his mother and yet Connor still took his side anyway which completely contradicts the reason he was fighting the templars in the first place which was because he thought they killed his mother meaning he has no real reason to kill them other than the fact that he thought they were bad even though they sort of weren’t, he even had cut dialogue where he admitted to being wrong about everything, but to be fair I haven’t played ac3 in a while so I could be remembering things very wrong
Connor and Evie had so much potential and it would be nice to know what happens to them after the games. Connor was definitely not dumb, but more naive considering how and where he grew up, then learning from Achilles mostly about the Assassins so I feel he had to learn as he goes on. Then there’s Evie who was an assassins through and through, even being more stealth oriented in Syndicate. She knows the history of the assassins and has so much more knowledge. Plus she was the one you play as when you explore Edward’s home. Plus with Jacob, he isn’t dumb, just reckless. Obviously not as smart as Evie, but Jacob holds his own in terms of knowledge, he just prefers the quicker routes I’d say.
Its definitely not Arno since Arno is comparable to Evie but boys and girls we all know love has mad us *ALL* do stupid things. When your recklessness would pretty much destroy the whole British empire, drop their currency and totally make innocents suffer YES he is dumb as hell. (Or Reckless to the point of completely destroying his home country) The only reason why it worked out is actually Evie's fast thinking and cleaning up after him. THAT is why the comments are so against him. The fact all kinda worked out is because of Evie despite his stupidity and recklessness, not because he would be smart enough to recover the situation.
@@Dark_Voice altier didnt solve any of the problems caused by his recklessness and the cost of his choices were very much the same as with jacob. @@jbcatz5 likely that countless innocent lives were lost when ezio did that. If what jacob dose makes him a "bad assassin" or "stupid" then ezio was a full on failure.
Man, Ezio decided to spare Rodrigo Borgia's life at the end of AC2 and then fled to Monteriggioni with the apple, causing the siege and Mario's death (it always makes me laugh how he never even considered using the Piece of Eden during the siege as Altaïr did agaist the Mongols in ACR), and literally condemned a whole city just to kill an old man in Revelations. I know that many of us might be fond of him, since he was the only one who got a trilogy, but how is he not even considered as being one of the dumbest assassins?
Rodrigo reveals in a dialoge with Cesare that he didnt want to siege Monteriggoni. It was Cesare’s idea and he probably would’ve taken revenge either way. But yeah it was a little dumb tbh. But not the direct cause of Marios death imo.
Jacob is my most favorite assassin. Ezio has been my number one for a while until i played Syndicate. I really like his personality and it’s gives me joy everytime.
Personally, I love Jacob. The man's my namesake, I can't help but to love him lmao. Seriously though, I can see a lot of myself in him. Younger Jacob certainly is VERY hotheaded and his plans are just a chaotic mess, which by the way don't make him dumb by any means. He's quite good at analysing and planning (even if they tend to fall short quite often), but I feel like he simply chooses to go violent because he genuinely enjoys it. All in all not the dumbest protagonist out there, just very impulsive and reckless.
Imagine if during his later years, Connor went searching for what the assassins truly were and in the mean time, he turns the rebuilt homestead into the new brotherhood.
Connor's mentor is a former assassin so he pretty much knew their philosophy and later on he became a master assassin which mean he probably had a apprentice so yeah... Maybe he rebuilt the brotherhood in his place
I was wishing for Shay to show up even though he's not an Assassin anymore. Mainly because his whole storyline and the reason he left the assassin's was because he didn't just calm down and TALK! Arno made the most dumb decisions all for a girl. Jacob also is pretty dumb and has many preventable mistakes. He was always too reckless. Edward is probably one of the smartest. Honestly Ezio’s dumb moments is what made him such a good character seeing as he went from just a young adult having fun to having everything change and his life flipped upside down it was really relatable
That was during the teenage Ezio man. Before he became an Assassin.
Even though this was before his assassin career that's true.
UT I don't recall any dumb moments of Ezio before Assassin's career. He was always very educated and knowledgeable
Ezio: Yeah, I was pretty stupid when I was younger.

Also his character matured a lot more in bloodlines
And he's probably the most skilled fighter he took on like 30 or more at once in a sword fight with no distractions yo help him just head on
Arno is pretty sick
Don’t forget the fact that he learned how to make a P9 just to shoot hit rival.
Ok i will admit when i saw this comment i wouldve thought Ezio was smartest but i realized hes the WISEST not SMARTEST
So unironically Jacob is one of my favorite assassin’s, he does have depth that no one else has in the same way. Mostly while he is reckless, he still does what needs to be done in the end. He worked with Roth, but when Roth crosses the line he kills him. Same thing with Pearl attaway. Take it for what you will but he’s one of my favorites
It’s rather clear (to me anyway) that he didn’t really aspire to be an assassin. He was born into it. I mean Ezio, Connor, Edward, etc chose to be assassins.
With Attaway it’s less “crossed a line” and more “oh shit she was actually a Templar and lied to me”.

Arno: Definitely driven by emotion, which made him impulsive, but not necessarily dumb. Similar to Edward, his plans were well planned out. When his plans went south, it was either because he let his emotions get the better of him, or because there was information he didn’t know about.

Votes on Jacob before even watching the video
Honestly his dumbness is part of the reason I love Jacob as a character. Iconic
Can I say that Jacob is one of my favorite Assassin's
Yeah you can
no.
Full agree. Jacob is a fun type of dumb, and it works in the context of the game. But his recklessness is easily his worst quality.
I knew you were gonna say either Arno, because she’s blinded by his love for Elise, or Jacob, because Jacob
Altair: Laa shay’a waaqi’un mutlaq bal kullun mumkin
Ezio: Requiestcat in pace
Connor: Rest in peace
Arno: Repose en paix
Jacob: What a prick
Yup as soon as I saw the title, it's gotta be Jacob, honestly I'm glad that you mentioned Roth as well cos I felt he is a very interesting character from Syndicate
Roth was like the best thing to happen to Syndicate
@@ohnobro1424 He's actually quite a charismatic villain in the series
For me I loved Jacob, I was amazing at fighting in syndicate so being able to just let loose on a bunch of AI felt good after a long day but yes I do agree he definitely was not the smartest assassin but sometimes it’s not about being smart it’s about being FUN
It’s Jacob Frye 100%
Jacob accidentally wrecking the british economy, just for Evie to fix it perfectly describes the dynamic
he didn’t ruin it, the assassination went perfectly and then the police let bandits steal printing plates.
Let’s be for real here.
If Arno listened to the Council than the Templar’s would have destroyed Paris.
What's wrong with women??? And which character are u talking about
Fun fact: Ubisoft created Jacob by mixing the personalities of edward kenway and ezio auditore so that people will love him but idk why people are into evie more
i blame whoever wroten plot for syndicate
I prefer Jacob over Evie
jacob definitely takes the crown since the story of syndicate is basically jacob killing everyone while destroying everything and evie has to clean after him every mission. if evie wasnt there, jacob probably did more damage to london than the templars would have
No doubt this is my favorite channel on youtube
His reflexions about the credo prove it
But like you say, he is driven by emotions.
And the tone of syndicate is alot lighter than thr rest of the games so he seems dumb in comparison to his peers but isn't in comparison to his world (if that makes any sense)
Arno on the other hand fucks up constantly and actually always makes trouble for everyone.
And Arno is a bigger simp than you know who.....
@@TheHighGroundItself but he doesn't make mistakes, no big fuck ups he's just reckless and he does learn at the end, no by consequences but by a character arc
@@TheHighGroundItself Bruh, Syndicate the worst Assassin's Creed ever? What grass did you smoke? Ever heard of Odyssey?
@@zeussoulhd2169 no that's not a "AC" game that's just a stealth RPG set in Greek time period
I love Jacob, but he generally focuses more on fighting than the actual main aspects of being an assassin
Other assassins: We have to be descrete and careful with every actions we take
Jacob: Blow shit up and let my dumb sister do the rest
Jacobs missions in the game are more fun and interesting though
Especially when ezio killed thousands in sequence 7
I literally read the title of this video and said aloud "Fucking Jacob man"
With all due respect you said that we cant count the dumb things ezio did when he was not an assassin yet you counted edward/arno dumb things when they were not an assassin i mean going from a dumb pirate to the master assassin of england is pretty high iq after edward became and assassin he was smart and wise
Even as a pirate, Edward wasn't dumb. He was arrogant and selfish. He was incredibly smart, but he had little regard for the consequences of his actions
ezio was a 17 year old kid while the other 2 were grown men not a fair comparison
before watching this video: jacob
after watching this video: still jacob
Wait a minute what? He’s canonically bi?
Oh No Bro The guy who wrote the game says Jacob is bi and the subtext with Maxwell Roth was absolutely intentional. He had to clear it up after an employee in Ubisoft’s Germany branch said otherwise. The official Tumblr account had to settle it by saying “Jacob Frye is bisexual. This is canon.”
@@jbcatz5 oh God they confirmed that on Tumblr? Ugh I can only imagine the cringe...
That's a lot of copium bruh
I looked at the title without even watching it and went "Isn't it just Jacob?"
Yo can u tell me, is AC origins filled with aya or whatever that is?
@Mohammad Taha Ohhh, so she isn't forced into the game too much of right?
Good video, Master Assassin keep up the great work, you review's are incredibly helpful, and I think your great!!
Arno - simp. This guy was Mordecai levels of simp. Also he did a lot of things that really screwed everything up.
Jacob - not really stupid, but definitely impulsive. Whether that counts as stupid or not depends on who you ask
Evie - pretty smart, although some of her actions in the Jack the Ripper dlc were a bit suspect
Bayek - definitely not stupid, just very emotional. He wanted to avenge his son and didn’t care what he had to do in order to do it.
Cassandra - not smart or stupid, just kind of careless
Edward - very intelligent, but immaturity and life among stupid people lead to his lust for money. However, he grew out of that. There is also something to be said about him living so long while everyone else died.
Eivor - same as Edward
Shay - very smart, but that intelligence led to him joining the Templars. Not like that ever came back to bite him though.
Ezio - similar to Edward and Eivor, he started off doing some dumb shit, but matured as time passed
Altair - he messed up at first, but he got smarter later on
Connor - naive and kind of in over his head, but still showed intelligence sometimes
Overall, it’s kind of hard for me to pick, but I would say Arno.
It seems your tongue has tasted sour grapes

I found your channel a month ago and instantly loved it! Keep up the great work.
Dude, Ezio is by far one of the dumbest assassins, he constantly let his targets get away when he could very easily take them down, which usually leads to a lot of innocent deaths:
For starters he is captured in the ruin outside San Gimignano, somehow, and mess up a golden opportunity to eliminate the templars right then and there.

The colonial templars were actually better compared to the other branches.

I dont see how connor is stupid at all. Naive perhaps. As for jacob... well, the guy had about 10 mins to place every lead and clue evie uses to catch the ripper. Hes not stupid, he's reckless. And for the record, so is evie. She causes a literally battleground in the most guared place in Britain. The tower of London. She also exploded a chunk out of croydon. Smarts... like how altier is literlaly so reckelss he brings an army of templars to masyaf and has an ally killed. He also nearly lost the apple of eden. Trusted Abaas of all people, and is literally manipulated an entire game. Jacob is only tircked in that way for one sequence... these comments are lacking of perspective i think, or they are bias.
Jacob learns pretty quick all considered and really, the only reason its focused on in syndicate is because the game uses more realsim in regards to your actions. As if Ezio burning down 2 cities in the space of 2 sequences isnt stupid. Im just pointing out the hypocrisy of "fans."
@@Dark_Voice also evie caused a huge fight in the tower of London and in real life that would've messed up the assassins far wosres then jacobs actions. Besides, the empire is agiasnt the assassins. No matter what game or assassin or setting, if the assassin's win, then chaos and destruction will be caused. If the termplars win, then the world is controlled beyond reason and inequality becomes the norm. Both are bad. Jacob is a good assassin. 2 good.
@@chrismoore5333 Ezio set a fire in an enclosed city. How many died of smoke inhalation?
@@jbcatz5 likely that countless innocent lives were lost when ezio did that. If what jacob dose makes him a "bad assassin" or "stupid" then ezio was a full on failure.
It would be pretty cool to see which assassin is the best "Assassin". So like sneakiest with killing techniques to accompany that
altair
@@FredrikSkievan Yeah, you've got a point there!
Jacob is my most favorite assassin. Ezio has been my number one for a while until i played Syndicate. I really like his personality and it’s gives me joy everytime.
from your name it sound like you're british ? make sense why you prefer jacob
i love jacob as well but it's lookalike everyone hate jacob tho

When I saw Jacob in the center in the thumbnail I instantly knew who was the dumbest
I was wishing for Shay to show up even though he's not an Assassin anymore. Mainly because his whole storyline and the reason he left the assassin's was because he didn't just calm down and TALK! If he and Achilles didn't tell at each other, they might've came to an understanding to not touch those sites again!
