Welcome to the Toy Federation UA-cam channel, where vintage and modern toy enthusiasts unite! In this exciting episode, we dive deep into the world of Star Wars collecting, as a dedicated toy collector brings in a jaw-dropping haul of six vintage 12-inch Star Wars Boba Fett figures, along with more incredible vintage Star Wars toys. If you're a Star Wars fan or a serious collector, you’ll want to stick around to see this amazing collection in all its glory.
The Arrival of Six Vintage 12-inch Boba Fett Figures
Boba Fett, the iconic bounty hunter from a galaxy far, far away, has long been a fan favorite. In this episode, Ryan, the owner of Toy Federation, is in for a treat when a collector brings in not just one, but six vintage 12-inch Boba Fett figures! These figures are part of the original Kenner Star Wars line and are highly coveted by collectors worldwide.
Each Boba Fett figure is examined in detail, with Ryan and his team discussing the different variants and conditions of these legendary collectibles. From the iconic green Mandalorian armor to Boba Fett's removable jetpack and blaster accessories, the attention to detail on these 12-inch figures is unparalleled for their time. The team at Toy Federation carefully inspects the figures to ensure they are complete and in top condition, noting any differences in packaging or paint applications, which can affect their value on the collector's market.
More Vintage Star Wars Toys in the Collection
But the excitement doesn’t stop with Boba Fett. Along with these six incredible figures, the collector brings in more vintage Star Wars toys to sell. The team unboxes a variety of Star Wars treasures, including figures from the Kenner 3.75-inch line, featuring classic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. These figures, which shaped the action figure industry in the late ‘70s and ‘80s, are a collector’s dream.
Among the haul are some rare gems, including sealed Star Wars figures, original Kenner vehicles like the Millennium Falcon, and playsets like the Death Star Space Station. The Toy Federation staff give viewers an up-close look at each item, detailing its significance in the world of Star Wars collecting. These toys represent a piece of cinematic and toy history, and Ryan shares insights on why collectors go crazy for these figures and playsets, especially when they’re in mint condition.
The Importance of 12-inch Figures in Star Wars Collecting
The 12-inch Star Wars figures hold a special place in the hearts of collectors. Originally released by Kenner in the late 1970s and early 1980s, these figures were part of Kenner’s attempt to branch out from the standard 3.75-inch action figures. Figures like Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker in their 12-inch form offered kids a chance to play with more detailed, larger-scale versions of their favorite characters. Today, these figures are sought after for their unique scale, detailed accessories, and nostalgic value.
Ryan discusses the market for 12-inch Star Wars figures, explaining what makes Boba Fett such a prized figure among fans. The fact that the collector has managed to keep six of these figures in such good condition is a testament to their rarity and the collector’s dedication to preserving Star Wars history. Whether you're a seasoned collector or someone new to the hobby, this episode offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of Star Wars vintage toy collecting.
The Art of Trading and Selling Vintage Toys
Toy Federation has become a hub for toy enthusiasts to buy, sell, and trade their collections. Ryan, with his deep knowledge of the toy industry, evaluates each figure and negotiates a fair trade or purchase. This video not only provides insights into the values of these collectibles but also offers tips on how to sell or trade vintage toys effectively. If you’ve ever wondered how to turn your own collection into cash or trade for other valuable items, Toy Federation’s trading process is a must-see.

We batch episodes, we've heard your complaints about narration. We used it to give you context as to why the G.I. Joes were there, and in an effort to improve on the videos since we've seen a dip in view count recently! Thanks for watching!
I like the narration, personally-has anyone had any constructive feedback, or is this just the knee-jerk snarky fearful response to any form of change that is so prevalent in video commentary?
@@GaladrielFlowers They asked last week what we thought. The responses are just a direct answer to that question.
is there anymore in the batch? for us that enjoyed the 80s throwback. I was sad to see everyone's disapointment, because I know you'll keep the viewers happy.
also why are there no quality repop accessories? it's just various densities of plastics blended and melted. they don't have to be so off
@@toyfederation keep doing what you want!
I’m just saying I didn’t see a lot of reasoning as to WHY people didn’t like it-I realize that things like that are subjective, but just saying “I don’t like it” doesn’t seem helpful, it just seems antagonistic. Which, hey, if you’re into that… 🤷🏼♀️ Salut?
This guy needs his own spinoff. I really liked this interaction.
Once again, your business is truly inspiring.
I agree. I enjoy seeing people who are that passionate about what they collect. He could probably discuss the line all day long.
Me too!
Really like the Star Wars dude in this video. Very knowledgable, very polite, and pleasant to listen to! Would watch a channel he did covering the little known details of these old Star Wars figures.
I don't understand why some people had a problem with the seller, dude was passionate about the star wars figures and it's great to hear from someone that is passionate and knowledgeable about something so focused. Also the narration was only in like the first minute, relax 😂
I think because he's selling so hard, passionate is one thing, but when somebody enters a shop and has almost commission salesman vibes it's a little offputting. The passion was def there, but that mixed with that vibe and pressure to me was a little much.
@@DetroitTyler did he not go there to sell his figures? does the shop not ask people to bring their items in to sell to them? get off the internet pal
@@DetroitTylerwell at the end of the day he successfully sold the boba Fett figures for 2x their worth. They go in box for $300. Loose like that about $140. He got $300 each.
Homie got scammed hardcore cus he had nostalgia blinders on about the star wars. Even the Chewie in box in way better condition goes for $250. And he wanted $200 or whatever.
That Boba Fett Guy is a GEM, protect him!
That was easily my favorite deal I've seen done on the show.
From himself 😂
Enjoying listening to this guy that has a PHD in Star Wars action figures, I learned alot from this episode. Some people may not like this, but it's a free education in toy history and buying/collecting.
Dave was very knowledgeable and well spoken on what he has especially the Boba Fett figures! Very honest. I had no idea about all the chemical and plastics back in the day I was born in 1989, that was very interesting to hear. Great episode guys!
Yes, Kudos to Dave!!! Love to see it 💜🤘🏻
Knee high scoks and knee legth shorts.
This man ment serious business no one saw coming.
Theyre actually compression pants for circulation. And he's wearing shorts over them. You need stuff like that when your as big as that guy
This guy was really nice, he is a great talker and knows his craft inside out. Great episode 👍
I love dudes that hone in on one area of any line, especially Star Wars! This dudes knowledge of the 1/6th scale was awesome
That customer was outstanding very knowledgeable and great to listen to
Guys, please keep it simple you guys are great. Get rid of the voiceover not necessary. Keep it real.
cant wait for the voice over to go , great show before
Pinned comment.
No on the Narration!
Pinned comment.
These videos drew my attention because it had no narration! It made me feel like I was in the shop.
I like this customer, bring him back again in the future!
My humble 2 cents is that a huge part of the charm and appeal is the feeling of being there with you guys in the store. Anything like music or narration that's too overblown and TV-ish detracts from that. The marimba music gave it a nice atmospheric feel in non-dialogue sections, creating a more low-key documentary feeling. I can imagine there is a narration element that could also work, but like the music, very low-key and down to earth. Keep us feeling as if we're there in the daily business of the store.
What happened to the Podcast??
Love the videos, but the voice over narration is awful...kills the videos...
Pinned comment.
True and the background music that's now even more pronounced just makes it hard to understand what is being said.
No voiceover guys…the videos are already good the way they are.
The Narration is so bad, you guys do a good enough of a job explaining things in the videos without the clunky narration.
We didn't explain what the GI joes were for so we needed that to let you know. I'm sorry you didn't like it.
@toyfederation we can see what the GI Joe's are, they look minty on the video, all your previous videos without the Narrator worked and were well liked, for me personally it's a bad change to your videos but it's your channel so good luck.
We thought it might be a welcome, funny change, for a couple videos.
The British voice was better.
I'd much rather you guys provide your own voiceovers if it's necessary.
NOOOooo! Narrator is back. Different voice but it is better without it!
Pinned comment.
This voice is worse than the last one.
this was an awesome episode
Everytime I watch one of your videos, I feel compelled to watch either Star Wars or a couple GI Joe episodes. Keep on making videos, guys. This is great stuff to watch.
I learned a lot from this episode! One thing about being a toy collector is you have to ALWAYS be willing to learn and listen to others.
Seeing tjose Joes made me regretful. I sold/traded mine all to a dealer friend. I loved Tiger Force and Python Patrol as a kid! Im way more focused on Transformers now, but as a kid, Joes lasted longer with me because the scale was always more consistent.
Have a fantastic day Toy Federation!
You too!
I like this guy, very reasonable.
Narration kills anticipation and leaves zero to the imagination….Pre narratiion you coukd think as a voyeur and enjoy what you liked about what was on screen with out being directed as to what to take notice off. Really don’t like it.
Ok.
@@toyfederationbut still please explain what’s happening while you are doing something… a lot of the times it’s impksssivle to know what’s even happening
lol it’s fine with me you guys complain way to much
@You liked it I didn’t. It’s a public forum. They wanted feed back and I think the original formula was perfect. Just cos you like baseball doesn’t mean I do to right?
Dan Larson from Toy Galaxy is the Boba Fett collector. I really enjoyed this video, especially discussing the counterfeit weapons for the 12 inch line. You always see talk about the repro stuff for the small vintage figures, but no coverage on the ones out there for the vintage 12 inch line. The customer in this video should come back for another video because he had some great insight, genuine enthusiasm for the line and is clearly a serious collector.
Those Boba Fetts are awesome!
😄😄
Back in grade school I had brought some of my new Joes over to a friends house. Outback was one of them. His flashlight came off, fell through two cracks in two sets of stairs, and after searching for an hour, finally found it in the basement. Still have it to this day.
You might be hurting for room but try displaying the figure outside of the damaged box that way they know that the figure is in good condition AND it comes with a box though damaged. It's like a little bonus to have a box of some kind in this case.
DON'T FOLD THE SIDE FLAPS of the boxes !!!!😮 lol
Those Boba Fetts and R2 were clean!!
I like feeling like im there while im watching. The narration kills that vibe
I like the old style of the show , I didn’t know what channel I was on for a second … maybe will help w new viewers but us old school viewers miss the old style and sounds , more raw
Pinned comment.
Oh no, we are still doing voiceovers...
That seller is slick! He can talk a smooth game.
I don't collect the vintage Star Wars 12 inch, but I must say, this episode was so informative. I learn so much from this channel and really appreciated the interaction in this one as I learned so much from both sides. The discussion on the boxes was spot on as well, as I am mostly a loose collector, if the box is decent and somewhat displayable, then I am ok, otherwise I don't really want to pay extra for a box. But that said, boxes are few and far between, so sometimes a better one is not going to come along, so you have to take what you can find. So I really can see the argument on both sides.
I will keep watching these free videos with or without narration. Just keep showing me toys from my youth and I’ll be here. Thank you TF! Toy Attics, where’s Kim?
I'm gonna be the one guy who says I didn't even notice the voiceover, I was too busy being mesmerized by all the Star Wars and GI Joe 😂
Just found this channel love the videos !! Will be watching all of them !
18:09 “We were eating paint chips”
I was a polymer chemist for 9 years and I can easily tell the difference between 3-D printed plastic and extruded plastic. If they wanted to make convincing replicas, they would have to go back to the old ways of creating the plastic. You would need a chemist, not a computer tech.
More great stuff! The narration did not bother me any. That was a great deal on the 12”. I recently picked some up at a auction for very cheap! The boxes are very hard to find. I remember as a kid when those 12” were on the shelves still, great times! Have a great weekend!
I remember them lining the aisles in the department stores, back in the day...😀
These videos don't need any narration explaining stuff. I don't even collect much toys and even i don't need explaining to. Your audience aren't casual TV babies
we're trying to get a bigger audience, and we have a lot of viewers that don't know as much about toys.
Not much of a try if the voice over had one line throughout the entire video lol
@@toyfederationin trying to get a bigger audience you’re going to end up alienating your main one. You guys are averaging 40-60k per video, some channels go years before they hit numbers like that.
Yes we’ve been going for two years.
@@toyfederation yeah, but you are going to lose your existing audience.
Then your audience will be smaller.
I wish my local toy shop, Toy Fusion, would make a show...
Informative episode, thank you!
Having a beat up box definitely detracts in my book.
I liked the narration it was fun, keep doing and trying new things!
Vintage GI Joes rattling around loose in clamshells make me nervous
I think the Narration just feels a little unnatural and cheesey. Text on screen would do the same job and not be as intrusive or offputting. Its not nearly as bad as everyone is making out, but if thats the road you want to take i think a member of the team doing the voice over would be better.
Pinned comment.
No text either.
Thanks for another Great video guys! 🙌🏼
Thanks for watching!
Narration kills it for me
We had no way of letting you know what the G.I. Joes were without giving you some context.
@toyfederation show don't tell if its not broke don't fix it
It's just funny to see such a hard stance on 2 lines of dialog.
@@toyfederation I think the number one thing people love about your channel is the authenticity, when you ad the narration it feels like a pawn stars parody. Which may be the intent all along, I get it.
@toyfederation look man i like the channel if a didn't cate i wouldn't say and just move on i feels fake and unnecessary you could've just put a bit of tx up rather than the fake discovery channel voice it's so jarring
One of the best toys stores to sell to, I thought the deal I brought in they were very fair
I'd much prefer it if you just got pick-ups from the gang giving context where its needed. Just ask them to record a line, wild, about the GI Joes, if you feel you need it. The AI V/O is really jarring and pulls you out of the main thing thats so brilliant about your channel - the authenticity.
Ryan and Toy Federation crew, to give you some constructive feedback on the narration rather than just saying "it sucks". The appeal of the show before was as a viewer you were just hanging out like a lot of successful YT channels. You felt like you were at the store or convention with a group of people who share the same interests. The narration completely takes you out of that. Also, you gave great insight before and if the viewer wanted to learn more, we would further investigate on our own, we do not need the narrator for that. I have not watched the last 2 videos because of the narration and I will not watch anymore until the narration is gone. Looking forward to those Saturday Mornings. Thank you.
Where do you get tge clear plastic cases that the GI Joe'snwere in ?
If they're fake Ryan wouldn't be buying all 6 for $1800.
The 12-13 second intro narration didn't ruin the video for me.
The GI Joe collection...awesome. Ryan took time to go through many of them. I didn't collect GI Joe so Ryan's information was helpful & entertaining. I like how excited he gets about the "minty" ones. If Ryan's excited about it, you know it's good.
Dave the ebay seller/collector from Georgia: Not hating on Dave. He's like a lot of collectors, he's passionate & talkative.
BTW, I always like the inclusion of the 1970-80s TV commercials. Takes me back.
Ryan explaining "when plastic touches rubber too long" it softens; explains perfectly the loose hands.
I appreciated Dave's willingness to share his thoughts. They both can spot a fake. Great discussion about 3D printed fake guns vs. originals.
This you tube channel was a great idea & I love it. Keep up the good work guys. Most of us appreciate every episode & don't complain. 👍
Another great National Geographic video on such historic artifacts from our past.
Side note: has anyone thought of having a digital scale and start documenting the weight of the original artifacts to compare with the 3D reproductions?
Good one. Great stuff. I’ve always had a sweet spot for those orig 12” figs. I can just barely remember them from childhood. And personally I will always pay more with the box. Even if the box is rough.
I LIKE the voiceover. Mixes it up a little bit.
Narration or not, I'm just happy we got another video. Love seeing all the Star Wars people bring in. Big love from Manchester UK 🤘
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@toyfederation Always :) The only thing I would say is I wish it was longer! Have a great weekend guys.
just finished and you left us at a cliff hanger lol
that G.I. Joe collection is so sick....AWESOME !!!!!!
Another great video! Never misses man I love watching these no matter what things you guys decide to change it’s still always gonna put a smile on my face keep up the good work!
One of the best videos by far. Please keep it up! Its been fun to watch you grow. Cant wait to see the new shelves of displays.
Love your videos and I dont even collect toys. To satiate the naysayers, wouldn't it be relatively easy for Ryan to record a brief voice-over to accompany any scene requiring context? All the best from Australia.
Omg please get rid of the voice over
Could you tell us why it bothers you so much? We needed a way to explain what the GI Joes were
@@toyfederationit sucks!!
Well said.
@@toyfederation It doesn't really flow well with the video; it feels like an edited insert. The "national geographic" tone of the voice is jarring! Leaves me waiting for... "And here we have a Joe collector in its natural habitat, let us see what he's hunting today!" * *Jams mic in customer's face* *
Same , it kinda sucks , sorry
By any chance, do you have 1/6 Premier Toys Lizard or Sandman?
Which Thomas Newman score did you guys sample for your show? It fits perfectly.
nice pull.
Took me forever to complete my 1982-1986 G.I. Joe Figure Collection. Everyone of my figures is complete, unbroken with Excellent paint (Heavy Metal has his Mic and Cobra Glider Viper Pilot has a Perfect Cobra Chest Symbol). Zap has both of his thumbs, Mail Away Duke has his little American Flag Sticker, and Admiral Keel Haul his little silver pistol. Listen N Fun Tripwire, Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander, and 1984 Storm Shadow are all very difficult to find with Perfect Paint. The ONLY accessory I have that is not original for all of my figures is Star Duster's Visor which is a repro. I do collect other years of Joe's as well.
Idk y ppl had problems with the narration. It made the video flow really well and was very informative
This guy knows his stuff. He’s me in the future when it comes to mezco/mafex and legends/mcfarlane
never seen a guy with money ready to be handed over try and talk the buyer out of buying.
I do it ; it can be part of a soft sale haha
Still my favorite channel. The voice over doesn’t bother me.
That UA-cam guy who buys a Boba Fett?!
Dan Larson is a national treasure sir
No voice over ever!
Pinned comment.
GI-JOE/COBRA stuff rules!!! 🐍 😎 👍:)
To those who are hating the voiceover I wouldn’t say it SUCKS but it does take away from that homey feeling from previous videos. The rawness of the commentary while observing the toys in front of you being appraised/bought in is what makes it feel so comforting. The voiceover explaining things takes away from that. That’s my only critique. I’m sure there was some extra time put in editing adding the voiceover but I would maybe find a happy medium. Add it only in videos that don’t give you the full context of the trades etc. Great episode nonetheless! 👍
Another great episode
Just got home from work and it's my first show to watch
After my shower of course lol
Thank you
So funny reading all the comments on the narration. It reminds me in season two of Transformers and they changed the intro. I was like hell no! Peter Cullen would make a great voice over!
Love you guys either way!
Who's idea was the voiceovers?.... Was it the Toy Attics guy? Because it seems like something he'd try and sell you on. You don't need it, and you don't need to try and keep things fresh. What you had was perfection.
Agreed.
The narration is entirely unnecessary
If it wasn't in there the Joe segment would've felt weird and out of place, don't you think?
Heck no we come to spend time with the toy federation ppl , it's one of the only channels we can come to in a pure natural format and just chill with good ppl
Glad we can provide that for you!
Whoever is responding to these comments about the narration is being a bit too defensive. We love these videos, and the people are giving you feedback instead of leaving your channel. If you are having a dip in views, I would suggest some special videos like giving a tour of your own personal collections etc. Keep up the good work
We will! Just addressing people and showing them the side they don't see.
It’s Ryan. He’s hiding behind the “ it can be anybody “ curtain.
@@Capo_1291100% not Ryan.

Love this channel. It is like waiting all week for Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid to now watch your new episode. Please (times 3) remove the narration. It is not a value add and takes away a little of the magic for me.
Pinned comment.
Another great episode. Those Joe's were a nice hual. I always loved Gi Joe Tiger Force. Thank you gentlemen for another awesome Saturday
Love the 12” figures. Also the Micro Collection. Prolly the least popular lines in Star Wars toy history lol
I thought the narration last week was just making it like a parody nature video or something. I didn't mind it. I think different narration styles everyone once in a while can be an interesting change of space.
The narration is fine if it's informative. The vintage toy commercials are great. Add fun facts about the item. Most importantly is better video angles to see the toys better. Maybe at the end show close up of key items from the trade in; possibly a missing piece obtained that had completed a toy that will be making to the showcase. I would be interested in seeing some operations behind the scenes once in a while like fixing toys to make them showcase worthy.
Fortunately the voiceover was just at the front - I never knew there was a 12 inch Boba Fett, never saw it in Singapore.
I'm fine with the narration here. Whatever @toy federation enjoys and keeps making these great shows! Also enjoyed the guy selling today. Very knowledgeable and great to listen to!
Glad you enjoy it!
Love the videos and the new format! I watch you guys every Saturday morning over coffee. I think the narration is great and works well! Keep up the amazing content Ryan. Cheers from Salem Massachusetts! 😎🤘
Glad you enjoy it!
@@toyfederationmight want to clarify sometime that you aren’t Ryan. You speak as if you represent the entire shop.
Huh?
@toyfederation I don't think he even knows what he's saying! 🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣
@@bono1083that’s how you know it’s Ryan and nobody else
For as incredible as your store is, I'm kind of shocked that you guys don't have some sort of sorting table and that you do all of your stuff on the floor on your knees
He likes it that way... reminds him of sorting toys as a kid.
@nintenjoel yeah I'm really starting to actually appreciate that they're down there on their knees on the floor
@toyfederation the voice over script and idea is fine and works well.
The problem is the mic and the proximity to the mic. It's jarring and takes you "out" of the video, if it was mixed better to be more seemless it would work perfect. A bit of music can help soften the transition
My new favorite channel great video
Agree-also, the new cuts in the middle of trades interrupt the narrative and story
You should have a wall with your collection Ryan, would also be content for the channel, and the crazy numbers people would offer for your entire wall
Love your videos hate the new narration

I look forward to episodes and enjoy learning and seeing such enthusiasm, even though I'm not a toy collector myself per se.
I recognise the need to expand the audience and change things up, but I'm not enjoying the narration. Please read the room and rethink this.
