This guy is a legend, I know he probably never will but I wish he would make another big hollywood film. He has so much talent and he makes exciting films.
I love Paul Verhovan. Doesnt give a shit about violence or nudity. Its all normal as it should be. Wish there were more directors like him or that he would make more films.
Das boot has very great camera work, by knowing how submarines are internally the difficulty of the shots become more evident. Phil Tippet, Basil Poledouris, Moni Yakim and many others, wow, that team was truly talented, no wonder Robocop's success is very difficult to replicate.
Robocop is a well oil'd machine :) The attention to detail is remarkable but it's still an R rated action movie that don't take it'self too seriously! My only complaint is that the Police locker room needed more boobs ;)
Well the premise is pretty ridiculous and fantastic. And it benefitted from Verhoeven's peculiarities as a director; evidence exists as all the other Robocop movies and even the TV show just don't work at the same level and are lacking something.
