Do you have any tutorials about configuring sn-1747 Scanner Cards to talk with the 1794 ASB adapter modules, do you need to have a certain number of terminal bases/interface cards connected with comms to work correctly is my specific question. Many thanks
Hi James: Sorry I do not. The manual is available on the AB site. www.rockwellautomation.com/search/ra-en-US;keyword=1747-SN;startIndex=0;activeTab=Literature;spellingCorrect=true;facets=;languages=en;locales=en_GLOBAL,en-US;sort=bma;isPLS=false;sessionID=a4a9321e-7c6a-0264-923f-8d22ff65ad2a;deepLinking=undefined
Hello TB: Which Flex I/O modules are you worried about? There are many of them and all are current. Can you be more specific in your question? I have a number of videos on my channel that use the 1794 modules. ua-cam.com/play/PLApJy6_fcuvi_kx1MeMJjYus6rphDwVma.html You can also check the Rockwell site for product lifecycle status list - www.rockwellautomation.com/en-us/support/product/product-compatibility-migration/product-lifecycle-status.html
Hello: As soon as you pull out a module it will fault the adapter and all the modules in that chassis will stop communication with the processor. You would be best to stop the process and change it then. It will take you less than a minute to change out the module. When it powers up the processor will write the configuration to it.
thanks for the very informative video , we have a flex I/O 1794 where i work and i would like to know if it needs any kind of configuration and what software do i need to use in a case that i would like to replace it with another one, thanks in advance
Hello: If you are only removing and replacing a module with the same one - no configuration of changes in software are needed. I recommend that you power down the module and adapter before removing or inserting a new module. If you add another base and module to the system you need to use the AB PLC software for the series of PLC processor that controls your system.
Please,I need your technical advice. We have 1794-IRT8 installed and intended to change one of the 1794-IRT8 module that's faulty to 1794-IT8 in which the 1794-IT8 doesn't Power ON. What could be the cause?
The way the bases are wired are slightly different. You have to check your wiring diagrams before changing over. You also must configure the new module in the program. Without having the module in my shop it is not possible for me to check out what is going on with it. You can also go to this site and post a question. You may get a better idea. www.plcs.net/
@@abplctestbench759 yes it will, do you have a video on swapping out the module with a replacement. we have a red light on ours. cycled power a few times not resetting. waiting on a replacement.
@@dougm1985 Hi Doug: No Videos on swapping it out - normally I power down and remove and then re-install. Would need to know which module it is to begin to assist you. But as I mentioned before to others - confirm your wiring and if that is good then check your configuration in the program. If you are making an exact swap then I would have to suspect that you have 2 dead modules but that is normally a low probability.

I have some of these. How do you set them up to just test and try it out? I'm worried that some software that is no longer available is needed.
