Ork and Imperial structures get all the hobbying love. I really need to see more Tau, Necron, and Eldar. Bonus points to anyone making Votann terrain. Single massive structures on near empty landscapes always make me think of a campaign or some narrative moment as opposed to boards with more evenly spaced and scattered terrain.
I love the look of this board. Between the use of standard terrain techniques, adding in the crashed ship, water effects and LED lights it came together into a great looking board.
Thanks so much! Yeah, the LED light in was kind of a huge mind block, so managing to do this was massive. I know it's dead simple, but it's great to learn something new! 😌
Oliver, whilst I knew you were working on the video, I didn't (just so other people know) get to see the video before it went live. I found myself shouting "LOOK AT YOU GO!" at the 10:05 mark! Thrilled that you got your feet wet with LED's, and that you're now hungry for more. Really excited just thinking of the stuff you'll build! Thanks for the shoutout.
Glad to see options for lighting that don't require solder. Have no clue how to do it, don't have the tools or the space to learn right now. . Great work
Yeah, I honestly have no idea how to solder. I have a kit, but I've never opened or used it. Wire wrap, a wire wrap tool, some LEDs and a coin battery power "thing" should do the trick!
You can also find all the bits here. US based, but they've given me a code here too :) terraintronics.etsy.com/?coupon=BSGTOWEROFPOWER European customers will get $7 off a $35 order when they use that code, until the end of March.
I'm extremely biased, but I think it's awesome that he didn't pick off anything overly complicated. He had a simple goal, achieved it, and now has a foot on the stairs.
Like yourself Ive always wanted to add some LEDs to some of my models. Could you put up the links showing the bits you used? Great result with the board, would love to see my Farsight Enclave on it

@@BroadswordWargaming Joking aside, I really liked your "lighting for beginners" stuff here. Very daunting to take that on and your tips certainly make it seem more accessible to me. Thanks!
I like the modelling compound for sealing the foam. But I think I would have stopped before you chucked sand everywhere as that's asking to chip off, right?
Hey! Yeah, this video is a dedicated sponsor by Warhammer 40,000 BattleSector, so they're the main sponsorss on it (for links and clicks etc). I did pay for the files, but do have to be a little careful with copyright stuff on this one, probably haha. Always happy to share the link for people that ask though :)
Thanks! Yeah, I have. Few more 2x4s cut and edged at the exact same height. 😀 I was trying to plan ahead, as I reckon it'd make for a great Horus Heresy board.
Of course - but sculptamold is a nice mix of plaster and paper fiber (cellulose). It has the speed of plaster, with the nice feel whilst working, and finished look of landscape. (undulations etc)
Greetings everyone. I was wondering if anyone could list the lime greenish aqua colour on the back of the T’au Broadside Battlesuit Box. I’ve been looking everywhere for something similar. And yes guys I’m a newbie to WK40 and went the T’au Empire. Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.
Haha, that is fair. This one wasn't too bad, as I was only using sand. Its when you get foam and sawdust flocks that it greats reslly bad.. the green colour can leak out everywhere (its why my wooden tables are far from clean) haha

Agreed eventually some League terrain too
You weren't kidding about massive. That tower is the size of a toddler. Great build and a great table
Haha. It's my new baby!

Now that's a massive TAUwer, hue hue hue.
Literally only came here to make sure someone said it
dobra robota , wieza prezentuje sie niesamowicie👌👍
Always love seeing non-Imperial terrain. The tau'r is great.
That looks amazing. The LEDs and water effects are very cool.
Thank you! Cheers!
I alwayd liked T'au buildings they slap in such a stark contrast to the other factions
T'au buildings are too pretty Amazing job by the way!
That is absolutely gorgeous.
One for the save list - im hoping to do a board at some point this year and i'll rewatch this when the time comes. Thanks for this.
You're welcome! Do check out the other board builds too. 😀
I love your enthusiasm for diving in and trying something new! Great video!
Thanks! It's so far out of my comfort zone, but I'm genuinely excited to try more stuff. 😀
Such a solid design in the language of the Tau. Now, just to make up some terrain effect rules for it...
Woah nice board mate! Yeah pigment powders are ace, it's like a dusty wash.
Always love your board builds, nice work!
Glad you like them!
Thanks Oli' .

Looks amazing, love adding leds to tarrain and even models. The build looks really well set up to add leds to. Where did you find the file from?
I backed a pledge here. www.myminifactory.com/campaigns/voroni-collective-1738 😀
@@BroadswordWargaming thank you, that's amazing
Well themed board 👍 props for including your experiments with electronics - it went well :)

Excellent video, loved the demo and great result.
Glad you liked it!

Love seeing some proper Tau terrain!
I love your board builds! Always so creative. Your snow wizard tower is one of my favorites ❤
Ah, thanks! Oh, I loved that one. It's still here out back. Makes for a great demo display piece in store too. 😀
A great looking board!
That came out super good.
Tau Tower is hard to say - well done
Haha, thanks! So was "classic crashed space marine space ship".

I would recommend to use some spray filler and sand the tower down before painting to remove the print lines.
You can make a pretty excellent set of wet pigments yourself by mixing the pigments with matte varnish and then airbrushing it
I shall definitely be giving that a go. Pigments and more weathering products are something I'm keen to try.
looking forward to seeing a future battle report on this board. looks amazing 👏👏
You and me both! 😀

Looks great!
Awesome build/video 👍👍👍
Awesome board build!!! 😊
How about a battle report? Would love to see the board in action:)
Was hoping there was going to be a link for where the tower stl could be purchased in the description 😢 time to scour the internet..

@@BroadswordWargamingthanks!! Have been enjoying the channel, any plans for the store to ship overseas in the future?
@@BroadswordWargaming It would be cool to add that link in the description of the video so people can find it, and also so you credit the 3d modeller!

So cool. Things like this make me wish I didn't live in a tiny house; I just wouldn't have the space to store it.
Yeah, it is humongous. Dunno what I'm going to do with it!
Really enjoy the content!
Thank you!
This reminds me of the board in the 5th edition rules
Love the look of that board❤❤❤
Thanks buddy!
Lovely board well done. Would be nice to have a larger one, will it be easy to add another section next to it?

What an amazong build! Damn impressive 💪

very nice video :)
Is the .stl file for the print available for purchase somewhere?
Are things like plaster and joint compound just not available in your country?

You mean Tau-er?
*Finger guns*
I'll show myself out...
I honestly can't believe I missed the tau-er joke.. I'm ashamed.
Guess you could say it’s a large “t’au wer” 😂
"Great video as always! Love looking forward to seeing new topics everytime 😆
Btw, I could you check your inbox Oliver? I've sent you one 🥰!"
A T’auer if you will
Is that really a tower?!? Or is it a Tau’er 😂
i'd love to build boards, but I really can't stand huge messes.
