Underwater is so underrated and so strikingly good throughout from start to finish and the plot was so interesting and wicked plus so a lot of scenes in the dark and moments throughout that triggers claustrophobia.
I agree. I took my girlfriend to see it, and she really doesn't like science fiction movies. It checked off her horror movie box though, so she enjoyed it. It reminded me of The Abyss mixed with Deep Star Six (a super cheesy 1980s movie I absolutely loved when I was a kid).
I found the movie absolutely terrifying, as someone who hates the ocean and what could be in it, this was a visual representation of why “Fuck the ocean!” Because these things could really be there, we don’t know! We hardly know our own ocean!

This was an excellent movie and Kristen Stewart did a very good job, infact all the actors did an excellent job. The reveal at the end of the film (SPOILER WARNING) Of the Deep Ones and Cthulhu was Awesome!! I've waited so long to see Cthulhu in a big budget movie and the way Cthulhu was introduced is the way to do it! I loved the film and I think it's very underated.

We dont have enough deep sea horror movies these days. The director gets bonus points from me by basically making the main creature Cthulu.
