Another great video Marv, I started driving in 1996 for a large road construction company driving a 91 Peterbilt dump truck with a single drop axle, you talking about DOT cops made me think of this. I was in Norfolk, Va. at a section of road around a Walmart. I had gone past the street I wanted to turn on so I slowed down and raised the drop axle to back into the side street I had just passed. There was a Norfolk Police mobile scale van in the parking lot and when he saw me lift the drop axle to back up he came over and gave me a ticket for not having the drop axle down. I was pissed off to a level that I wanted to go into orbit. I said are you for real? That weasel just smiled and said yes sir you didn't have your drop axle down which makes you overweight on the rear axles. This was just when the local governments had just figured out that a mobile scale van was a cash cow. I was very fortunate to have a boss that paid the ticket for me because we were so busy it was just a drop in the bucket. That nail in the tire you got hit for is same of the same stupid crap, they need to start checking all these 4 wheelers with bald tires, no brakes, no insurance, not wearing seat belts and talking on the phone. You had it right when it rains those saps are not going to get wet even if it's at a scale. I was taught by old school guys and a few women and we looked out for one another and had a ball, it was a rollin' CB radio show. 🤣🚔
Once DOT have their mind made up, you ain't changing it. 4 wheelers are more of a hazzard than big trucks. 9 out of 10 cars I look down into, the driver is texting and driving. From the young to the old.

You know what's crazy? I almost edited out the blindside altogether. Sometimes, my viewers complain about the constant head movements when I'm backing up. So say it makes them dizzy. But, with the camera mounted on my head, there's no avoiding it. Not it's literally the talking point of the video. Lol

I picked up a yacht from Miami Florida i took it up to north Dakota last week i was pulled over 8 times they tried their best to find something and they found nothing at all. Lic was fine dot card fine all of my permits fine all my straps and chains fine i guess they could not make any money off of me.
Sounds just about right. DOT in a nutshell.

Marv: Recently saw a short on FB. Triip was the name. In cab video of an 18 wheeler getting hit in a bridge, going thru the railing. 3/4 of rhe truck was over the side. In cab video is an eye opener looking down at the river. No seat belt would have been thru the windshield. Anazing how much weight that king pin held. She was rescued .

If you really ,really,really like trucking and making decent money,and you want to get away from the pirates ,check Canada ,not Quebec,West Canada from Toronto to Edmonton there only 2 scales,they always close,no dot at all,but you drive on ice.,that's a three day trip, different world,more freedom,more danger.God bless.

A beautiful person right there Dennis is….. sadly you did speak facts. Many would’ve just sat there and just opened up some popcorn. Where I frequent on a daily (4/5 times a day) a lot of trucks park up one one side of the road and just sit there and watch you back up around a corner with difficulty instead of just pulling forward. They don’t even have to get out…….then there’s only a handful of true truckers move without hesitation. We got to look out for one another not cut the sh1t out of each other at every opportunity. Don’t look for respect if you’re not willing to spread the decency.
Courtesy is definitely missing in trucking. I'll get out in pouring rain to go help a driver struggling to back up. That's just me.

In the recent blitz, Dot wrote me violation for driving over hours when I was using adverse conditions exception. And another violation lied about the date on my annual inspection. It doesn’t expire until October. He thought it said January because both the months have the number 1 in them october is the 10th month he didn’t see the zero after the one 💀.And another petty violation for the name on the side of my truck not matching what’s in the system. In the system my company is “pacific shipping and trucking”. And on the side of my truck it says “Pacific Shipping”. Super petty they had the same name for 30 years. My safety manager is in the process of disputing 2 of the violations.

It was raining most of the DOT blitz.

Yeah don’t ever let someone tell you less than $750/14miles is still a good deal. That’s a good deal, but that’s also a fair minimum take. I don’t see any parts prices coming down!
It was really 3.5 loaded miles from shipper to receiver. I just factored in my total miles driven (from the yard and back to the yard). Took about 4-5 hrs total. $70 in fuel expense. And go back home to the family. I'll take that during DOT blitz 🐈💨
@@presy_jay Our hazmat teams got hit way earlier than it was even announced, a week or two earlier than rumor even had it, and during the blitz random portables popped up all over the place. We were getting nailed multiple times, all around us… I had my manager asking me what I did or said to so-and-so every guy got popped for a violation or at least thoroughly inspected. Next thing I knew it, a couple weeks passes and I hear people suggesting a blitz is “coming”. Man, it hit us before we had a chance to look up.
Got pulled over first time ever in my 2 years of having my CDL a week before the blitz and he let me go with a few things lol I had dark tint but couldn’t get a reading cause the tint reading device couldn’t read it , a malfunctioning wiper, an empty extinguisher and a missing back light on my dump truck those are barely even visible they aren’t blinkers or brake lights but I only got basically warning just like u that I had to fix the extinguisher and the light only those 2 I got lucky but last year I did get an overweight ticket on i20 weigh station in Douglasville ga I never go thru there again
