Phil and Dewey….Thank you SO MUCH for putting this together….I don’t know much about Dewey, but I watched Phil thru the thick and thin, read all his books, and listen to him talk, and I love this guy for who he is. It's a great story, but there is no way it's true. Even if it's the million per round over 50 years, tiger received that much before he even played a prossional tournament and I believe is the 1st athlete to make a billion (with the only possible exception of jordan). But no way did Doyle make more money on golf than tiger did.
@@stevenwilson8718 i mean most of tiger's money came from sponsors. But yeah there's no way he made more than tiger. But golf is very much like poker in the sense that it's all about being able to get action. Besides pro tournaments, I doubt many people would actually play against tiger for money even when he was young. A lot of gamblers/golfers/business people would play doyle.
Steven wilson, Tigers on course earnings is 120m according to quick research. I think was comparing to that Doyle has made more over 50 years. Tigers networth of over a billion would be from sponsorshiping and other business dealings.

Doyle was asked who he'd choose to make the putt to save his life and his answer was similar to Dewey's. He wanted Puggy Pearson to make it because he knew Puggy was not a choker and would give it 100 per cent effort.
Phil is up there with Doyle and ivy. The three Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivy are the big three for various reasons. Negrauno is just behind. Hellmuth I hope you live a good few more years
And you are correct Many knock Phil Hellmuth cuz they only see him on the felt he's very emotional on that felt its cuz of his zodiac sign same one I have as matter a fact are birthdays are the same day always like phill and when he mentions about money loans between them they would never ever screw one another that's who they are trusted 100 percent that's rare dole awesome I see him on the other side and dewy never heard of him another amazing human like phill and dole
We lost someone who was almost someone as good as me, the great Phil Hellmuth... He tried. He tried for a very long time and he told me many times that he considered me to be the best poker player in history. He is the second best player ever.
Doyle will be missed. I thank him for letting us learn the game he loved so much.
