i know it would be great to have speed strats back for frontiers, and i agree, but what if they just really played into the mysterious aesthetic of that game and gave us like, a wildlife documentary narrator for it? or if they hired someone like morgan freeman?(he's probably too expensive but someone like him) and they made it like, "super serious" but obviously not taking it too seriously? that'd be hilarious

The only did this because they were expecting to capitalize on Sonic Origins success. But it just turned out to be a complete disaster.
Read a book on marketing and you'll understand what I mean. Sonic Frontiers is not being pushed out to basically anyone but it's core fans...

As always, I have my own tip to offer: Evan doesn’t bring this up, but in order to get the Special Stage Time Attack in Sonic CD, you need to clear the main Time Attack in under 30 minutes (also unlocks Visual Mode)

in sonic 1, if you play track 07 on the level select and choose a special stage, you'll end up in a special stage editor
from there you can design your own sonic 1 special stages using any block from the original game
I don't think this gonna work on "Sonic Origins" sonic 1 forever should work only!!
@@yousefslimani99 Well in Forever, that was a menu option, in the original 2013 release, you had to do that extra step. I have not yet tested this in Origins.
@@yousefslimani99 It totally works in Origins. Seems to not save your created Special Stage between game sessions, though.
@@TomTheyy yeah I tried to save my special stage that I created in sonic 1 forever but I didn't find any ways how to save them! That sucks!!
@@yousefslimani99 Maybe it was weirdly intentional? Like if you wanted the option to start over the process on a crazy little created Special Stage for a playthrough you could without erasing data? Though I've only been able to access the custom Special Stage in a legit playthrough of the game by playing that first from the level select then doing the rest of the game's levels when it's completed.

These are nice videos, but hearing about how Debug Mode works in Origins just makes me wish Game Options were a standard per-game thing in the menus.

I had a lot of fun with the instashield in Sonic 1 and 2 since the days of the mobile ports, altought it would be very cool if you could patch a better save slots system into the game, and have this options be toggeable like in mania, and have the combi ring and & Knuckles mode toggeable in Sonic 3 from there, as those are unused in the game

Evan, thank you for calling Sonic 3's robot counterpart by his government name. People need to understand that Silver Sonic is the one in Sonic 2 for the MasterSystem, not the one in the Genesis/Mega Drive version.

I wasn’t expecting to learn too many new things from this, but WOW! There was still a lot of cool stuff that I’ve never seen anywhere! (Especially the 8th Sonic 2 Special Stage. I need to try that out later.)

@@crosscharayt986 Yeah! I pre-ordered it so I could get all the content for the game. It was only $5 more, so I figured, why not? (I mean, I bought the Collector’s Edition for Sonic Mania in 2017, so this was nothing compared to that. Lol.)

Can you guys patch this:
- Option to deactivate blur
- Give us a level select! Why do we still have to use a 30 year old debug mode code...
- Muffled audio samples in 3&K
- Voices missing in CD
- Knuckles Chaotix music in museum
- Tails jumping non-stop in 2
- Real classic mode without spindash in Sonic 1 for example and using the original ROMs to allow us to speedrun
- Ability to skip videos
- The many new collision glitches
Scripting and fix the speed cap in S3&K as well.
They're not going to offer the original ROMs when offending MJ music in present in one of them.

the voices in cd missing isn't a bug but a dumb choice by sega
and you can skip the cutscenes I don't understand why everyone says you can't skip them
@@TomTheyy They can give the ROMs used on the PC version with the prototype music. As long as the gameplay physics are untouched so we can speedrun them that's what matters.

@1:22 Classic Mode should already have all these settings enabled. It feels weird being able to spin dash in Sonic 1 when selecting the Classic Mode instead of the Anniversary Mode.
Even if you're playing a game's Classic Mode, it's always based on the Christian Whitehead version of that game

Another thing for sonic 1: with debug mode you can set the sound test to 7 and then go to special stage and make your own special stage!

I hope we get DLC for this game that adds more games. They should make a pack that adds more Sega Genesis Sonic games. It would add Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, Knuckles Chaotix, and the stand-alone versions of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. I would buy that even if they were just emulated versions. It would be the first ever rerelease of Knuckles Chaotix and it should also be free for the people like me who bought the deluxe version.

100% Completion Speed Run fact:
You can use debug mode to collect the maximum amount of coins (999) and then if you reach the end of a level it will save that to your collection, giving you more than enough coins to buy everything in the premium store and still have plenty left over for the special stages.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
special stages you don't even need to complete if you just 4126 the games lmao

I love how people tried hard over the years to find these secrets and features, just later in 2022 to be all revealed by SEGA.
Incidentially, the bugs reported are also caused by those very people looking for debug mode. Instead of looking in the games' stages themselves during normal gameplay, they should've done this.
And then chastised and made fun of everybody who used debug mode to complete one of the four _Sonic the Hedgehog_ video games for the Sega Mega Drive and the Sega Mega-CD.

That Sonic 1 level select is actually the only way to play as Sonic and Tails together in Sonic 1 in Origins.

You gotta love how he gives you cheats and then calls you a cheater for using them.
Another pro tip for mining coins: Spindash on the siren in Launch Base Zone and don't let go of the down button. Your score will continue to go up for destroying enemies while racking up those coins. I can't believe this trick still exists in the game 30 years later. I used to do this to stock up on lives before starting Mushroom Hill back in the day.

Aa bug in sonic 2 i found is that only in that when elemental shields are on, you lose the roll lock (roll lock is when in sonic 1 & 2 normally when you jump out of a roll, spindash or dropdash your momentum is locked) when you turn this on, but as soon as you get any shield at all (both Standard & elemental) regardless of we you're in base form, have invincibility or when you use your super form, your roll lock is restored (for some reason) until you lose that shield, & when you have any shield (maybe including standard) combined with either invinci ility or the super form, only in sonic 2 your ability doesn't default to the dropdash, instead you have no dropdash or anything as sonic at all for some reason
That's because of the insta-shield gets rid of it its the reason sonic 3 doesn't have roll lock
@@dumbguyontheinternet7641 that's wrong because sonic 1 has both roll lock & a similar cheat too, & there this bug doesn't happen in sonic 1, only sonic 2, & CD has no roll lock either & that doesn't have the insta shield
@@dumbguyontheinternet7641 but there is still the bug that when sonic 3 items are on if you have any shield at all, not only can you not insta (maybe except for standard shield thy makes sense because of the replaced ability for elemental shield) but you also can't dropdash as base sonic with a standard shield or any shield combined with invincibility or as super sonic with any shield at all but when you do this in sonic 1 or 3, even when having a shield an elemental shield, you can dropdash with dropdash with an invincibility or as super sonic, this bug is only is only in sonic

Yeah
I honestly had NO idea this game allowed you to play as Super Sonic in Sonic 1 or that the Taxman version of Sonic 2 added an 8th special stage (with corkscrews!). I've been having so much fun discovering all these new little touches added to the games after 30 years of playing the original versions. Love it.
Wish some of these gameplay modifiers were selectable regularly from the main menu when selecting a game, but is glad the option is at least there in an official release.

OMG Thank you for showing me how to have S3 monitors in Sonic 2! I thought it was an odd oversight. Using the instashield in Sonic 1 let's you somewhat regain midair control after spindashing so it's my preferred way to play.

WOW, that's insane! Insanely awesome! But with some videos criticizing the authenticity factor from "forcing" you to still have the spindash in Sonic 1, and many critiques about lack of features keeping Origins from being the definitive version it could've been.... why wait an entire month after release to let us know these things are actually in the game? Elemental shields in the prior games was always one of my biggest wishes. Knuckles in Doomsday and Sonic vs Super Metal/Mecha are things I don't think I've ever even considered. This video was just so exciting I can't even remember if it covered everything I thought I wanted or not. It almost doesn't even matter because what's included looks so great!
I was expecting this video to go over the old sound test cheats from the Genesis, but I was certainly NOT expecting all the new stuff. I planned on holding off for a sale (or maybe even physical release announcement down the road) before getting Origins but these videos have really increased the hype for this game for me. Marketing for this and Frontiers may have started out rocky but both campaigns seem to be ending with a huge bang.

Just a suggestion, but I would recommend manually turning off the Spin Dash and turning on the speed caps and Sonic 1 spikes when you play in Classic Mode. Same with Classic Sonic CD, I would turn on the original Spin Dash for the most authentic experience
Oh, and also disable Tails Flight in Sonic 2

Me who's already played the games enough in his life, prior to Sonic Origins, to have the coins necessary to buy the extras: "Debug Mode and Coin Boxes...Sweet it works!"
these were such overwhelming tips and information, I couldn't keep up.
Fanmade story: I was playing Sonic CD on the USA version, I heard a voice from a friend, He told me a secret cheat code to get into Sound Test, So i inputted the code, He then wanted me to play songs: 46, 12, 25. I had no idea what he meant but he wanted me to press enter, So i did, Then it brought up the screen with the japanese message, He then started laughing to the laughs of the song, and soon he became a creepy masked sonic, i ran to tell my mom, but she thought it was just my imagination because, at that time, i didn't sleep for a whille, but i knew i wasn't hallucinating. so i came back to him, then he said "fun is infinite -image from majin"
"Have fun cheating, you cheater!" says the one who gave away the cheat codes while also being in multiple relationships with multiple women who aren't even his own species to begin with
