I think there is a line in whether the rear end caves or not. If you hit the wall with the rear but you arent going fast enough to cross that line, the rear end wont bend. In Kurt Busch's crash, he was going fast enough for the rear end to bend. But as we saw, even with the caving in, he still got injured.
Always found it absurd how drivers sometimes intentionally crash into each other in nascar Luckily most of these crashes looked like genuine accident s
I think it stems from the origins of the sport. In Europe most early racecar drivers were wealthy car owners or mechanics who had a general sense of etiquette and chivalry. Nascar founders ,however, were mostly outlaws and moonshiners who were of a rougher breed.
6:04 all but one car involved the biggest i have ever seen
Yea he won the race cuz of that😂
Ironically the first car to crash in the video (22 Shell/Pennzoil car of Joey Logano) won the championship
0:55 Boom to Erik
1:02 Boom to Bubba
Crazy how the 77 car at the start of the video had the rear end cave and absorb impact. like what happened to that as the year went on?

Aside from Mike Joy, the rest of fox's and NBC's broadcast crew is awful
they find it funny if someone crashes and nearly die.oh humanity
They have many safety features that are sometimes stronger than ones used in the military otherwise they would be worried
Then car's suck
