Steve Schmidt spent hours on Twitter breaking down the myth of John McCain and telling the truth about his 2008 campaign and some of the people around the Senator, including his daughter.
Schmidt took to Twitter after McCain tried to smear him on social media.
Meghan McCain’s book has bombed. She keeps losing jobs on television. She is famous for who her father was, not for anything that she has ever done in her life.
Steve Schmidt describes her as a cruel and nasty person who still hasn’t grown up as she approaches age 40.

Before he died, John McCain did say that Meghan is a huge pain in the a$$. And wife Cindy said that her daughter is very spoiled. When you have so many people saying the same thing about one person, it’s got to be true. Also, Meghan McCain does a pretty good job of showing that she’s a big brat.
They spoiled her though, that is bad parenting. McCain is a product of her environment just another rich spoiled child who can’t see their privilege

Her brattishess shone brighter than the studio lights, on her enormous forehead, on Seth Meyers' show!
He was SO polite, when (with kit gloves, ready as a livestock vet's🧤+🐮=😳), he suggested that, perhaps Ilhan Omar might not be a terrorist.
She was SEETHING (& he was Seth-ing🙄) & snapped something like "and who are *you* ,her publicist?
Then her hubby (presumably another trust fund brat, convinced he's earned every penny & job he's ever inherited/received, due to American Exceptionalism, hard work, & his inherent talent), posted an anti-Semitic, homophobic Tweet, questioning Seth Meyers' credentials!
Like any good conservative commentator; never allowing the facts that SM isn't:
• Jewish*,

• from an influential dynasty of SNL writers, & late night chat show hosts**...
get in the way of his 'narrative'!

Is it really necessary to still beat up on Steve Schmidt? Yes, he ran the McCain campaign and is largely responsible for letting Sarah Palin loose on the world, but he has been more than contrite, apologized for his prior mistakes, left the Republican party, and has moved to the left in his views. At some point, you have to appreciate someone's ability to change and not hold on to ill will from the past. Also, as much as I did not agree with McCain on much of anything, he was a well-meaning man who served this country well and does deserve a measure of respect.
McCain outburst emphasizing who her father is made Schmidt's point.
And that was his point in quoting it
Meghan McCain is my go to example of white privilege and entitlement. Unlike many of us, she got to where she was not based on merit, but because of her dad, her family name and her family wealth with little or not merit, hard work, skill, or talent. I mean - have you watched her for four years on The View?
Megan McCain got to where she was through hard work, dedication, self sacrifice & talent. Megan paid her way through college bartending nights, weekends and holidays. She was out there working while other kids were partying and when she wasn't working, she was either studying or volunteering her time cooking at a soup kitchen to help feed the poor. Get your facts straight you selfish petty vindictive little person.
SO true! She always threw her father's name into the conversation when she was losing an argument or turned it into a subject about her! So pathetic!
Plus she always made it like the Republican party was about her views only! She also said that anyone who served in the military ALWAYS got a pass on anything they did. Yet she (with good cause) blasted Michael Flinn and several other military people because she did not like their views! Hypocrite much!!
The irony is Meghan for the longest time was one of the biggest voices out there denying the existence of white privilege.

Her behavior of the years came off inconsistent to me..and if she was suppressing her true ways it makes sense. Getting a book published for the average person is as hard as it is to break into Hollywood as a major actor or screenwriter. It's that hard-except for people like Meghan McCain, whose name is enough to convince powerful executives to hand her hundreds of thousands of dollars, regardless of her lack of knowledge and regardless of her abusive and emotionally unstable behavior.
She has been employed by MSNBC, Fox News and ABC News.
The only thing I can say a person like her is really good for is to reveal the lack of substance in businesses that are thought by most to be respectable, including broadcast network journalism and the major book publishing industry. She may be a joke, but she also reveals the jokes within information industries.

Also, McCain forced Abby Huntsman off the show. McCain threw tantrums whenever the show celebrate Huntsman’s pregnancies or babies (the show did this for everyone who had babies on the show from the very beginning). Behind the scenes, she would yell at Huntsman that it was insensitive because McCain was trying to get pregnant and couldn’t at that point. The ego.

My husband and 2 of his brothers are Vietnam war vets. We live in AZ a helluva lot longer than Meghan McCain. Her Dad was an adulterer with Cindy, not very high standards. Actually I read through all of Steve Schmidt's recent rants on Twitter. He does go after John McCain, vigorously. He exposed the Manafort and Russian ties that McCain had during his campaign. Even spent time on a Russian oligarch's yacht to curry favor. I would like to say I was shocked, but given that the Russian 'president' has been involved with our politics for a while isn't a great surprise.

She was an absolute monster on The View . Oddly enough, they were nicer to Meghan than the infinitely more like able Alyssa Griffin. I don’t agree with her at all but she’s not a narcissist like Meghan.
A huge part of that is that the hosts (and producers) of the View liked John McCain. Whoopi Goldberg was a mentor and a protector of Meghann McCain until it got to be untenable. Alyssa Griffin, while smarter and more professional, will always have the taint of having been a part of the trump administration.
