There is no true visible build-up after Loki S1 except for post credit scenes which are more like Easter Eggs instead of plot points. It really wasn't. Plus, this movie wasn't even that awful. It's not like the Infinity Saga always had great films. Plus, there's lots of stuff after Endgame that was great and is really loved. Like Moonknight, BP2, What If...? Season 1, TFATWS, What If...? Missing the time when Marvel movies were about people that felt real. Flawed, broken, and persistent people who at the end were just living, not knowing the next step and trying to do the right thing. It was like the grandiosity of hero stuff like armours, and super powers, the cliche jokes were just the shining invitation to relate, connect and learn how to love people who at first seemed to have nothing to do with us. It was a whole fun experience of diving into this different universe where big heros were struggling with the same as you. Which made us feel that if they could overcome it or at least keep going, so could we. Now all we have is that empty and missing feeling on the movies because of the narcissism of the characters, the bad villains and terrible writing and last but absolutely not least the continuous commercialization of heros and the idea of being a hero, inside the MCU!!! What's the point? Being a hero has lost it's value and worth. They're invalidating the past heroes and their experiences which felt so real by bringing so many weak and generic aspiring avengers. Do better, marvel. Go back to the good old times.
IW was their last good movie up until GoTG3 came out earlier this year, everything leading up to Vol. 3 kinda sucked, don't get me wrong, I liked NWH when I first watched it, but after I rewatched it, the movie sorta felt off. Loki S2 was pretty good too, I suppose. (Not everyone will agree on the same things, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine, this is just my own personal take on how things are going right now.) What-If S2 has also been kinda meh so far, hopefully my opinion changes on it after these last few episodes come out, even though i wasn't over fond of the first season, i enjoyed some of the ideas they came up with. (Finished watching the second season, still feel the same way as i did before i watched them. Maybe the third season will be better, who even knows at this point?) I do agree on everything you said in your comment, I really wish they would change for the better, and maybe they will, or maybe they'll just keep doing what they've been doing these past few years, who knows. Hopefully, though, they listen to their fans and do what's right.

I think this is how we meet the Eternals again. That person kind of looked like Mekari in an updated suit. Maybe its Ripley Ryan or Star, and this is an introduction to the Thunderbolts. The red and white with gold accents really looks like her suit.

This reminds me of She Hulk. The first trailer emphasized the silly humor (and bad CGI), and it underwhelmed fans; so they released another trailer that was better received. That one made it seem more like something MCU fans might expect- less goofy, and with She Hulk interacting more with other superheroes. It turned out the first one was the accurate one. Now we have The Marvels, with an enormous change in tone between the trailers, one silly and one serious. Which one is like the movie? I'll point out the tone in this new one relies heavily on scenes from other movies.
The fact that they need to deceive fans by using scenes from characters that don't even feature in the movie speaks volumes. Last year Marvel/Disney lost nearly one billion creating movies with the sole purpose of replacing men with women trying to act like them, and they keep banging their heads on the wall with same recipe of proven failure. This movie is shaping up to be yet another one of these so called "flopbusters", and the press is preparing to lie once more to people as to why those failures keep happening
Black girl magic he had to yell at her. Def a goofy movie. The heros have no self esteem and don't believe in them selfs. However they want an audience to believe and buy into it. Shaping up like a masterpiece.
Nia DaCosta's IMDB page the director of this movie has a video on her prifile which says "creating cinematic tention" the only tension she creates is between the audience and Marvel.
This is a super interesting marketing pivot. Just a couple weeks ago there was an interview with the director where she said this movie was gonna be a silly goofy wacky time, and the first couple of trailers really played up the lightness of the tone. Then they drop this a few days before release and it's a totally different tone and direction. Now it's a continuation of the Endgame story and they try to lure people with those opening shots of Iron Man and Cap. You can smell it in the air; they know this one's about to bomb and they're scrambling trying to do damage control. I think this movie will be pretty forgettable, but it's going to give a fascinating insight into the MCU's problems. Can't wait for it to come out, but for none of the reasons Marvel intended.
At the end of the trailer (near the end, I couldnt even watch the whole trailer) they did use the stupid, unfunny jokes. Not knowing what ur trying to be the week of release is such a good sign!

The Marvels, the latest MCU movie, is struggling at the box office, having the lowest opening weekend and steepest week 2 drop in the franchise's history.
Worldwide economy is still not that great also. Waiting for the streaming is a better option than going to movies and Marvels does not have events like Infinity War and Endgame to ride on. Those movies were like sports playoffs time. Marvels is at best like a regular season game. I enjoyed Marvels though, fun movie to see during Holiday season. It's approaching 200 million also, lots of people like it.

I saw this movie yesterday (wasn't going to, but my dad bought tickets). Here's the recap of what went wrong (some spoiler-ish details included): - Even though I knew the gist of the film, the beginning of the movie was difficult to follow (my husband felt the same). It was disorienting. Some better editing could have fixed that, but I was a tad lost, which took me out of movie as I struggled to figure out if a significant amount of time had passed or not with the characters. I think you will be even more lost if you never watched the trailer. - You will not recognize Nick Fury. They wrote him as weak, bumbling, unaware, and saying a bunch of cheesy one-liners. - A short scene with another well-established character making a cameo is also written very strangely; she sounded like a fortune cookie. - Captain Marvel has a moment where she doesn't even think about if Ms. Marvel can fly as she trades places with her in the air. Kamala could have DIED. Major fail and made her look like a total jerk. And Kamala's not even upset about it because, ya know, Captain Marvel is her hero and can do no wrong. (How it Should Have Ended, I hope you make a video about this, lol.) - The main villain (her name escapes me; I tried to pick it up from the dialogue, but it's just a very forgettable name, I guess?) - she does some really deep voice to make herself sound menacing, but it sounds forced and she just doesn't have the gravitas of a villain. At one point, I thought she was married to the guy that was her commander or something because they discuss a son, but that actually turns out to be a SUN, not a son. Got a little lost on that dialogue there. Whatever voice she tried to do was so weird, it's hard to understand what she's saying sometimes. - The whole thing with the Skrull was confusing to me until I just re-read it on Wikipedia. I legit came away from the movie thinking she just got revenge on the Skrull, then went on her way to completing what she was actually after on the other planets. Totally missed that she stole something from that planet. - Ms. Marvel's fangirl vibe about Captain Marvel is cute for a short time, but gets incredibly annoying as the movie progresses. - There's a very Disney-like planet they go to with lots of singing. Some people might find it funny; I felt like I had clearly left Marvel and gone into some other universe. - The ending would fit a whole lot better in a Guardians movie. While I actually love the concept of how they evacuated, it just felt so out of place with these characters. Certain things just don't work across the board. Goofy, crazy stuff works great with Guardians. Forcing Nick Fury to become a goofy character? Ugh. I turned to my husband during the credits and said, "I bet you this was written and directed by a bunch of women." My aunt and my dad's girlfriend agreed with me. Sure enough, it was. Just imagine a Hallmark movie blended with Power Rangers. The end credits scene is boss, though.
Using the OG avengers to promote this movie is CRAZY.

Now all we have is that empty and missing feeling on the movies because of the narcissism of the characters, the bad villains and terrible writing and last but absolutely not least the continuous commercialization of heros and the idea of being a hero, inside the MCU!!! What's the point?
Being a hero has lost it's value and worth. They're invalidating the past heroes and their experiences which felt so real by bringing so many weak and generic aspiring avengers. Do better, marvel. Go back to the good old times.

IW was their last good movie up until GoTG3 came out earlier this year, everything leading up to Vol. 3 kinda sucked, don't get me wrong, I liked NWH when I first watched it, but after I rewatched it, the movie sorta felt off. Loki S2 was pretty good too, I suppose. (Not everyone will agree on the same things, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine, this is just my own personal take on how things are going right now.)
What-If S2 has also been kinda meh so far, hopefully my opinion changes on it after these last few episodes come out, even though i wasn't over fond of the first season, i enjoyed some of the ideas they came up with.
(Finished watching the second season, still feel the same way as i did before i watched them. Maybe the third season will be better, who even knows at this point?)
I do agree on everything you said in your comment, I really wish they would change for the better, and maybe they will, or maybe they'll just keep doing what they've been doing these past few years, who knows. Hopefully, though, they listen to their fans and do what's right.

I think this is the first trailer to show a quick snippet of a mid-credit or post-credit scene.
This reminds me of She Hulk. The first trailer emphasized the silly humor (and bad CGI), and it underwhelmed fans; so they released another trailer that was better received. That one made it seem more like something MCU fans might expect- less goofy, and with She Hulk interacting more with other superheroes. It turned out the first one was the accurate one. Now we have The Marvels, with an enormous change in tone between the trailers, one silly and one serious. Which one is like the movie? I'll point out the tone in this new one relies heavily on scenes from other movies.

This is a super interesting marketing pivot. Just a couple weeks ago there was an interview with the director where she said this movie was gonna be a silly goofy wacky time, and the first couple of trailers really played up the lightness of the tone. Then they drop this a few days before release and it's a totally different tone and direction. Now it's a continuation of the Endgame story and they try to lure people with those opening shots of Iron Man and Cap. You can smell it in the air; they know this one's about to bomb and they're scrambling trying to do damage control.
I think this movie will be pretty forgettable, but it's going to give a fascinating insight into the MCU's problems. Can't wait for it to come out, but for none of the reasons Marvel intended.

I saw this movie yesterday (wasn't going to, but my dad bought tickets). Here's the recap of what went wrong (some spoiler-ish details included):
- Even though I knew the gist of the film, the beginning of the movie was difficult to follow (my husband felt the same). It was disorienting. Some better editing could have fixed that, but I was a tad lost, which took me out of movie as I struggled to figure out if a significant amount of time had passed or not with the characters. I think you will be even more lost if you never watched the trailer.
- You will not recognize Nick Fury. They wrote him as weak, bumbling, unaware, and saying a bunch of cheesy one-liners.
- A short scene with another well-established character making a cameo is also written very strangely; she sounded like a fortune cookie.
- Captain Marvel has a moment where she doesn't even think about if Ms. Marvel can fly as she trades places with her in the air. Kamala could have DIED. Major fail and made her look like a total jerk. And Kamala's not even upset about it because, ya know, Captain Marvel is her hero and can do no wrong. (How it Should Have Ended, I hope you make a video about this, lol.)
- The main villain (her name escapes me; I tried to pick it up from the dialogue, but it's just a very forgettable name, I guess?) - she does some really deep voice to make herself sound menacing, but it sounds forced and she just doesn't have the gravitas of a villain. At one point, I thought she was married to the guy that was her commander or something because they discuss a son, but that actually turns out to be a SUN, not a son. Got a little lost on that dialogue there. Whatever voice she tried to do was so weird, it's hard to understand what she's saying sometimes.
- The whole thing with the Skrull was confusing to me until I just re-read it on Wikipedia. I legit came away from the movie thinking she just got revenge on the Skrull, then went on her way to completing what she was actually after on the other planets. Totally missed that she stole something from that planet.
- Ms. Marvel's fangirl vibe about Captain Marvel is cute for a short time, but gets incredibly annoying as the movie progresses.
- There's a very Disney-like planet they go to with lots of singing. Some people might find it funny; I felt like I had clearly left Marvel and gone into some other universe.
- The ending would fit a whole lot better in a Guardians movie. While I actually love the concept of how they evacuated, it just felt so out of place with these characters. Certain things just don't work across the board. Goofy, crazy stuff works great with Guardians. Forcing Nick Fury to become a goofy character? Ugh.
I turned to my husband during the credits and said, "I bet you this was written and directed by a bunch of women." My aunt and my dad's girlfriend agreed with me. Sure enough, it was. Just imagine a Hallmark movie blended with Power Rangers. The end credits scene is boss, though.
