This was a fun design challenge and a good introductory project to pneumatics for me. The cap shoots about 20 feet and makes the coolest noise ever! It could easily be done without the reservoir and be hooked up to a compressor. #bottleopener

This one was a hoot! I love the sound it makes. I have links to products I used in the description.
Hey you should try overengerneiring a mug I think they are just a bit boring now don't you?
As an engineer at a German company, I’m a fan of over-engineered anything! Nice work, glad I found your channel.
@Thu Nell Ⓥ Dudee, relax
I love it too
Ich liebe es auch einfach geil und viel zo complex für so ne Aufgabe
As an engineer from a german Company you should know that it's possible to open a bottle with nearly every item you can find on this Planet. And that makes this thing useless
Beside the fact that it's pretty cool 😂😂
@@simonolschewski70 that's the whole point to make something kinda cool
@@simonolschewski70 that's the whole point we all know it's useless smartass
If he made this commercially I’d buy one, that is great for parties to have on the counter w the bottles.
Until you’re 4 drinks in and someone loses a finger lol.
9:01 should be used as a high school workshop safety clip, this is why we wear eye protection
Yep, the clip better scare someone
I love how there is smart people who do cool stuff and share it on the net
So today the Algorithm decided to direct me to this video. It's funny it took a year for it to suggest the type of content I'm looking for daily. Now that I'm here I'm even more mindboggled that a maker with such fun and well-produced content doesn't have more than 19k subscribers. Blame the Algorithm. Subscribed.
P. S. We have the same initials.
He will have more soon. That how UA-cam algorithm works :)
Well he has 26k subs now 😂😂
40k subscribers growing fast
I LOVE how you make with attainable tools and show techniques we can learn from and use without having lots of specialized tools.
That turned out so good Tyler!!
@michael alm you’re good too
Dude, you're like a next gen fusion of every good maker on youtube! Love it, subbed, can't wait for more!
Thank you Ian!
This looks like a more sedate (but still insane) Colin Furze invention
This man gas a pneumatic bottle opener but not a spring loaded center punch.
Your reaction when it works is absolutely pure an GOLD!
Wow thanks UA-cam algorithm. That definitely the best bottle cap opener!
Never knew how they got that pattern into metal. Awesome to see. Your video production was great and the bottle opener is hilarious.
I came here after watching your collab on Alec Steele's channel. And even if this video is a year old, I'm glad I found it now. Subscribed :)
Hahahahahah that intro 😂😍
A little Easter egg for ya! 😁
Yep agreed. Was awesome, also ok this guy seems pretty responsive to comments for a comment from 1 month ago even though the video is over one year old.
Lifehack is at it again lol
That intro is the story of my life. Gave me the feels.
Normal bottle openers bring me sorrow
The finish on that is genius
The video quality is impeccable, your attitude and enthusiasm is enjoyable, and you have insane build compilations that are TV worthy. I wish I was you. Subscribed a thousand times over.
Overengineering anything in life not only brings immense fun but you know it'll last! Good job buddy.
My recommendations say this dude‘s gonna blow up
Nice job. I bet your dad is very proud of you! Great content!!!🍻
I love the look on your face when the bottle broke. What a great attitude!
The sound by itself makes it worth it
Patrick from Patrick's Workshop alerted me to this video and I'm so glad he did. Super-cool project!
I love cool built montages, it's like watching the scene in a heist movie where they go over how the plan was made and executed, which given how much the "Oceans" series impacted the industry, I'd say those montages are pretty iconic.
Will somebody please buy this guy a CNC. Great effort without but imagine what he could do with one!
would totaly be down for this at large events .... the bartenders would love this now you need to do cans too
Fantastic! It is definitely the coolest bottle opener around! And I can't believe only one bottle broke!
Hey there!
Love how you are not afraid of hand tools
Dude, this guy uses all the tricks in the book. This is my first vid by the way and I no joke subbed in the first five seconds.
This channel is super underrated. Quality is top notch of videos and products. Keep it up 👍
the ease your tools have with metal is astonishing, I don't work with metal too often other than cutting and welding but the router first surprised me then the table saw and the miter saw like whatttt it went so easy.
This account should have over a million subs at this quality of content
PARMBCRD! Dang TB, another killer one! Icing on the cake was that killer engine turning technique. I love it!
I mean no one really needs that but it still is beautifully engineered and build. Well done
This is completely over the top and it's wonderful! Glad I was able to see this in person
Love videos like this. It’s what makes UA-cam so good. Thanks for sharing your mistakes and doing jobs the way that’s achievable by most people. 👍
I’m an engineering student and this was awesome and made working on projects seem doable. I’ve always wanted to make stuff like this!
That's awesome!! You can!
Feel like having this thing attached to side of a cooler and maybe having the option of taking it off as a handheld would be a really great idea
Did anyone else start laughing when he said PARMCRD?
Dont stop doing what you love man
That is so over engeenered but so cool at the same time!
This looks like someting the BORING company would sell.
Don't give them ideas
Yes! So so good! It looks like a whole lot of fun. I can imagine buying way too much soda just for an excuse to use it 😆
Thanks mr. Maker Monster for leading me here. Now I'll go back to watch your alarm clock rubber bird. After i've subscribed to this channel ofcourse. Ciao ciao.
Alec sent me here. Well worth it!!! Great job 👏🏻
Fantastic video! Great editing and attention to detail. The new camera is really paying off as well!
Awesome video! I really like the camera trick you did around 6:00. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with!
Great job.
Alec sent me here, and I am subbed.
I am a 50ish year old mechanic fabricator by trade and as a hobbyists/maker.
You are doing what some people my age won't even attempt, or half ass it and theirs look like like it, (half assed).
In my field, most of us are in our 50's and we are struggling to find anyone in our younger generation that is even willing to get their hands dirty let alone put in a good day of hard work.
We need alot more of the younger generation to find interest in doing the sorts of things that you are doing.
The starting pay for most in these areas may seem a bit low if you are inexperienced, but as you gain experience and knowledge the pay can increase exponentially into 6 figures plus.
Machines of any sort will always need sombody to build them and maintain them, and I guarantee you will never have to look for a job, if you have the willingness to learn and develop your skills, the jobs will come looking for you.
Great job, and keep up the great work.
sooooo good. This is really well done and all that hand work on the aluminum!! Everyone needs an over engineered bottle opener.
Excellent. The best bottle opener I’ve ever seen.
A new Mark Rober. Collab would be great. Keep it up!
Reminds me just a bit of another UA-camr named This Old Tony. Awesome video
So far this is my favorite vid yet
Goodluck Mark Robber 2.0... u’ll have a great future
Great project, great video. Underrated channel. I’m sure one day I’ll be able to say “I knew you when”.
Thank you!
Im so glad my dad was around when I was a kid.
New camera = progress. Progress = hard work. Well done, love your videos!
Ridiculously cool build & video!
Another great one, Tyler! I really like the pattern you were able to achieve with the scotch bright pad.
Great project. Enjoyed the video.
Please start clamping your work to the drill press table.
The finish on the metal is awesome!
I only drink from twist tops but for some reason I need this in my life
Super cool technique with the scotch brite/ bolt head combo!
Sweet project man! I like the use of scotch brite to put a cool finish on the surface.
Best gosh darn video yet!!!! Your talent was really spotlighted here. Great work.
Oh and thank you for the help with the camera and lens. I upgraded my gear from your recommendation 🔥👍🏼🔥
Dude congratulations on a bottle over they came out bad ass man you know what the hell you're doing that's the kind of stuff we like to watch now thank you again preciate it God bless you have a blessed day
Really nice craftsmanship, great job!
This radiates dad energy just as much as a V8 lawn tractor
Great video, I enjoyed pneumatics so much at engineering school, takes me back!
Your going to blow up with the amount of work you put in! Editing is amazing and makes me want to keep watching your vids! Good job man!
Awesome! Nice work. I made one as well but mine is spring loaded. I didn't want to deal with an air pump! Cool non-the-less!
Dude, I can't wait until you can afford something like an actual mill, or a CNC router! Keep up the great quality!
My understanding of engine turning is that is was traditionally a watchmaking technique used for placing decorative patterns on the face plates of pocket watches. It is done on a lathe with an oscillating head that you can gear differently for different patterns. Definitely a wormhole worth looking into for anybody interested!
Yes Yes Yes! Love the idea of routing the aluminum.
If you love that, you should look into 80% AR's!
Just discovered. Outstanding fabrication, excellent editing. I am so looking forward to where you are going. Congrats on the new camera. May you go from strength to strength. May bits of glass stay out of your forehead.
IT'S FINALLY OUT! That engine turning looks amazing and it's a really fun project too! Really enjoyed watching it!
Pneumatic bottle opener. What a Beautifully over engineered masterpiece! stay safe J.
Looks awesome dude what a great Father’s Day present if I ever saw
You‘re lucky that you have such a working space and all the instruments/tools at home (at your parents side?). Cool idea and well done anyway. Like you creative idea of finish polishing the side surfaces like this! 😃👍🏻
I want this on my kitchen wall just to style on my friends when they come over
This is the first video of yours that I watched-automatic sub! You have amazing editing skills
Bets over-engineered bottle opener in the whole internet !
What an amazing finish with the scotch brite! You just earned a sub from me good sir.
Awesome job Tyler! The bottle opener and the video edit turned out incredible!
The "horn" on the mini anvil is super clever
as a maker of a over-engineered crossbow, i need this
This dude is underrated
If I had to use this to open every beer I drunk, probably wouldnt have drunk so much!!! Defs recommending it for the alcoholics that want to quit xD
Awesome work Tyler! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
I found that channel by accident but its fantastic you have a new subscriber , keep going 😊
Awesome how you did the guilloche pattern!👍
Good call on the eye-pro! That one broken bottle could've been bad!
for only 23k subs the quality of these videos is so high
Its a shame it took a year for algorithm to recognize the quality. I hope you're still doing those vids man
What a cool build your on your way.. You might want to try spiral point taps and a t-tap handle nice work
Cool project, nice excuse to learn pneumatic stuff😍
Love the maker knife joke in the beginning :D
Nice job, very cool idea 👍
Hi Tyler!
Anne of All Trades brought me here.
I'm not disappointed at all. Great work young man. Subscribed.
