Hello mate, could you give some advice on the difference in applying marmorino and classic venetian plaster?
I have seen some applicators do 3 coats with both, always with a white base coat, some including yourself only apply 2 with the marmorino.
I have also noticed a difference in the time when people burnish the 2 types, with high gloss being burnished almost immediately.
Could you please address the best process which works for you with the two types of venetian plaster.
    Thanks so much.

      Hey,
Typically for thicker plasters, you'll only need to do two coats. So for a plaster like Marmorino KS, you'll see people only applying 2 coats. For thinner plasters, in order to build up the thickness a bit, people apply 3 coats. Some people will even apply a base coat of Marmorino KS and then go over that with 2 coats of Grassello fino which is a thinner shiny Venetian plaster. That's essentially the difference. Thicker plaster needs 2 coats. Thin plaster needs 3. Burnishing time can differ between the two. Typically the thinner venetian plaster sets quicker just due to how thin it is, but it will really depend on room temp and humidity. Hope this info helps.

Great video. Are you a pro plasterer by any chance?

Thanks! Glad you liked the video! I've never been paid to plaster so I can't really claim the "pro" title.

Yes, self taught! Just from observing other applicators and practicing myself! My hope is to share the information I’ve learned with others!
