- Clark chats with the greatest living male vocalist on the planet - Marc Martel - as he shares some insight into his musical journey, his meteoric rise to QUEEN fame, his favourite evening drink, how to correctly pronounce Canada's favourite dish, and much much more!
I remember recording Briercrest chapels so I could make a mix-tape of the worship songs we were currently doing. With everyone else who lead worship, you could hear every little flaw that you would never notice live during worship. With Marc, on the other hand, it would sound like a professional recording. Intimidating!
I can also recall our freshman year Marc winning an Elvis impersonation contest in the old chapel during a 70's night. All the other guys sang along to "canned" music and then he came in with his guitar and sang "Love me Tender"... and girls were swooning all over the place. He may not have known that he had a serious future in music that early, but I'm sure everyone else in the room that night did!
LOVE all that :)
thank you for sharing wonderful memories about early Marc !
"Love Me Tender"... I think people would _still_ swoon.
We're still waiting for Marc to cover that song! 😅
Thanks guys. JW and MM are a potent combo.
I lived the 80's. Queen. Styx. Kansas. Truly great bands.
