The New Incarnation of "Pat McGroin" here. You seem to have grown confident and competent since I last tuned in for the Julii, lol. I always approached the Brutii as the "wonder boys", and concentrated on snarfing up all those world wonders. But you do you, General. Hail Brutus!
Just discovered your channel when you started the Brutii campaign. I like it very much! Your wife is also doing a good job with the thumbnails, I like them. I'm going to (binge) watch your other let's plays too. Thank you for the quality content.
Banger of a video, intro explains a lot, haha. Some tactical suggestions: fully commit on naval trade since this is the most profitable trade in the game (with avery new port trade increases exponentially). With this is mind, also go for Thermon. Maybe enslave population more often since you often exterminate, consider moving the capital for curruption if your current capital does not lie central anymore, increase equities since they are cheaper than hastati. Lastly, you can handle construction overview better in the seperate view which is meant for empire admin instead of the newsroll. And keep the nerdy banter! Hope your'e well, greetings!
Man, I have been watching a lot of your series on and off. Since rome total war is a nostalgic game for me! Love your vids and its taking me back in time!!
All those spare generals,i usually send of one too recruit mercenaries like Cretans ,Belearic slingers or Rhodians and Sarmatians and good Hoplites.Veteran like you will obliterate the Gauls.
Okay. Now you got me, i install the Game again and watch ROME from HBO next to it. For the glory of Rome(or probably Seleucida...) and all the Garum of the World.
@NobleKorhedron Academies add 5% to public order due to Law. That serves the dual purpose of increasing public order and also decreasing corruption, which reduces your income. The only way to tackle corruption is increasing Law through building academies, stone walls and some temples (Julii is the only Roman faction which has a temple which reduces corruption). Academies are also VERY useful in making your Generals better. When they are in settlements with an Academy they will gain beneficial traits which make them better governors or army leaders.

I take the worst spare general, and start building watchtowers all along my borders; I may also use him to recruit mercenaries along the way.

Why is an Academy good for public order?

I know about the Academy training ancillaries/advisors; I hadn't realised that in the remaster they give a bonus to Law.
