When I was young kid about 6 to 8 years old, we use to ride this boat from Riondel to Kaslo almost every weekend, my dad worked at the mine in Riondel. Those were the days. My name is David Waters.
As another user noted, the boat you're speaking of is a replica. The original SS Moyie is currently dry docked in Kaslo, BC, where it serves as a museum.
Thank goodness at least one of these beautiful boats has survived. Moyie has been restored and is resting at Kaslo, open to visitors and well worth a visit. The drive to Kaslo is so scenic! Sadly, her sister ship, Minto, had a tragic end on the Arrow Lakes.

Breath-taking -- watching this with my 90 year old dad who was born in Trail
I've seen this boat while it was being restored... Hopefully it got finished as it really was a sight to see
Why in the world don't we still have these?
SS. Moyie is still running at Heritage park in Calgary, went for a ride on it a couple years ago 😊

Excellent documentary with fascinating scenes!

Pretty sure it’s still running @ heritage park Calgary… actually know it is… went for a ride on it a couple years ago.
The Moyie at Heritage Park is not the same Moyie, plus it’s much smaller and not even close to the real one.
Very cool!
