The guy run what in Japan would be called a "black company", worked people to death, and, while company is still not turning a profit, he run away with (most) of the money before the communists comes to collect for "common prosperity" Theres no heroes in this story, only villans of various degrees. Remember, in China you dont become a billionaire without patronage of someone within the CCP, the only difference is which faction of the CCP you're with.
Moral of story - stay away from Pinduoduo. Do not share it with your family, do not share it with you friends, do not share it with your dog. Or as the great Dr. Seuss might say - I do not like it with a pen, I do not like it with a friend, I do not like it in the very end.
Dude? Are you a professional analyst? Your videos are so on point! As an Investor of-sorts... I can't help but expand my perception and understanding thru watching your videos. Especially on the Future of Asia.
Let's be honest, this fella is evil, very evil. Working people to death to sell scams and fake and stolen goods that deceive the buyers only hooking them in (fooling them) with ultra low prices. That old google motto really means nothing in practice, and he learned that lesson well. Also, he probably stepped away because he knows his app is crap. Took the money and ran.
it is fair considering it is a long time ago. i thought the narrator is trying to be funny on saying Google is a "startup" but years and rapid expansion...
And then those profits went directly to "common prosperity" than it's shareholders lol. Assuming they are using all net income and they maintain the same level each quarter... just another 3 or 4 quarters until they can start building up their own retained earnings with those profits!
I'm really disappointed for the founder who actually just "walkout" from his startup company that just startedly faces massive challenges, and just take out 40 billion out from it then retire LOL
You say "Years to IPO" as a factor to evaluate the company by. But reaching IPO is just a way for the company to raise more money for either product improvement/new product launch/etc. It is not an assessment of how good the company is doing. Am I wrong here? If I am wrong, please help me understand.
Founders and early employees make their possibly biggest fortune in a lifetime, by unloading (part of) their stock holdings. So for them, years to IPO is a big milestone to measure their efforts.
Well yeah, you're correct, small years to IPO can mean anything, including just want to cash out fast. But at the time of IPO at least there must be a working product that can captivate potential investor, and there should be plausible long term profitability. Investor is not that dumb, but for sure some investor can be fooled.

Topic why TSMC sells to China and why Taiwan and China still do trade with each other despite showing military power.

I think Google dropped the "don't be evil" part out a few years ago 😈

I guess he clicked on one of those "get rich fast" emails in his inbox.
Pinduoduo's ridiculous business model should have told everyone that it was just a passing trend like Fall Guys.
Fall guys still going strong tho

Temu took this comment personally😂
Considering how the CCP has clamped down on China's tech sector, Huang got out right on time.

Maybe make a video on air India: India's failing airline
Air India? Interesting idea. I’ll look into it.
As an Indian, Air India is a fucking disgrace. Wouldn't fly it ever again.
Very interesting, thanks!
