I discovered that the other method to polish aluminum is the wool buffing wheel, happy to see that you have yet another great video can't wait to see it done. very detailed and helpful. see you at the next one.

Hey Dave just wanted you to know I have learned a little trick on how to take out blind bearings I wanted to share this with you find something that just fits in the center hole of the bearing that you can hammer on then take pieces of wet paper towel and shove down the center of the bearing hole when it's full hammer it down then put more wet paper towel in and Hammer it down continue this and the bearing will lift up and out like a hydraulic system. works very well. you're welcome

Hey man. Thanks! I’ve tried that one before. And I also used wonder bread once, cause some old timer told me to. I didn’t have success with either method. Then later I was reading that you can crack the chase or case sometimes doing it this way, so I stopped trying. I did pick up a blind bearing puller from Amazon for $30 at the recommendation of one of the comments, but I haven’t had a chance to use it. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it works! Thanks for the advice and also thanks for watching!

To remove the old race from the crank out of the crankcase, just heat it up and smack the case with a hammer they will fall straight out.
Never leave the old race in the case because the brearing and the race are worn to each other. ;-)

Hey David, David here as well out of Richmond, VA. I have been watching your Puch Magnum ZA50 videos. Great job! I have a 2-speed magnum ZA50 also. Been really wanting to upgrade to a 70cc kit, MLM exhaust, MLM intake and a Mikuni carb. I replaced the pucks myself. Really not mechanically confident enough to do the kit myself. Would you be interested in a side job doing these upgrades? I would order everything needed through Treats and bring you the bike. I would make it worthwhile for you if this is something of interest. I am roughly an hour and a half from tidewater. Loving all your moped videos!

watch out for those outer shaft spacer shims in the trans, the washers that fell out while disassembling. i have seen many a' bearing bust out of the trans cover from shimming it wrong. You will need to check the float and re-shim, as the replacement gaskets are a different thickness than the stock ones...
also, i bet theres at least 10 of those output shaft circlips in my backyard. lol

Aaron. Had some drama on those shims as you will see in the next couple of episodes.

Hey! How much did you heat up the engine case to get the bearings fall out?

As a girl who grew up working in the family boat building shop and now out of college run the office, I can tell you the fastest/most efficient way to long board or block a surface perfectly smoothe is 45s. Top left to bottom right, top right to bottom left; fist full of strokes one way then switch. Swirlies will get you yelled at by dad or one of your evil older brothers. No, I love them all but as the youngest-crap always flows downhill. Rare to out perfectionist an elder.

Gently tapping it with a rubber hammer usually loosens it up. Some people gunk it up with silicone, and that makes them REALLY hard to get off...

Thanks a bunch! I wish I had the time to do them every week too. It really just depends on how my job is going. Some months, it’s pretty easy and 40 hrs a week. And I can spend some time tinkering. But some months, it straight kicks my ass and it’s all I can do to come home and play with the kids and stay awake past 9pm.

You can weld a ring in the L17 and the E20 bearrings. They will just fall out!
