Gacharic Spin, much like Hanabie, are true masters at controlling creative chaos and making something special out of it. And damn, I love it! ❤🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ _"Sometimes we laugh because we're sad or to hide our frustration"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 I Wish I 」 ♬✨
Love your reaction and also that you take the time for the lyrics! In their recent albums they often have used "Stream of Conciousness" as a method to convey their message. That's why some phrases seem disconnected, because they often change the perspective of the narrator or even the narrator. I wish I was written at the height of the pandemic and was heavily influenced by Angie (the pink haired vocalist, who was in her teens back then) and her frustration with the world. It's about the stress and expectations put on the younger generations by society, to be and behave in certain ways and not giving them room to breath and do their own thing. Every new generation of people try to find their own way of live, their own style, their own music and the like. In the end she tries to have a positive outlook despite her anger, cause if everybody would just accept other people for who they are, the world would be a better place. The world is beautiful after all! Cheers :)
Great reaction! I'm glad you paid attention to the lyrics. "I wish I" has an official live video with English translation.I recommend it because you can see which part of the song is sung and in what voice. I hope you will take a look at it when you have time. -- Gacharic Spin - I wish I (Official Live Video) in 豊洲PIT (Lyrics in English) ua-cam.com/video/nhFse5ZBlLo/v-deo.html
Very nice reaction - I remember I enjoyed the reactions for Mindset and Tamashii as well a long time ago! 😉 My recommendation for you (as well as checking out the live version others have already suggested) is either Replica or Let it Beat (from the recent album and EP respectively). Both have music videos and English subs included, and both have interesting lyrics to discuss. Thanks!
Great reaction Deyana! I’m glad you came back to Gacharic Spin,it’s been a while. Since I suggested this song to you, Gacharic Spin has released an album last summer and an EP a week ago. Today is also their drummer’s birthday: happy birthday yuri 🎂🥳🥁. Yuri was not in this MV because she was on maternity leave at the time. But she’s definitely playing in the live versions of the song. My favorite version is the live with English lyrics. You really should check it out. And there are so many newer songs they released since last year, a lot of amazing live performances. I assure you that you will like this band more and more. PS: earlier today, BAND-MAID dropped an official live version of “Hate?” from their 10th anniversary concert at Yokohama Arena 👌🏻 Hvala puno 🙏🏻
I like the song .. Recommend this Steven Wilson, Harmony Korine, Routine, Significant other. Mr Bungle, Travolta , Retrovertigo. Chris Cornell, Follow my way, Pillow of your bones. Morphine, buena , you speak my language. Successful with your reactions.. Regards from Chile
I'm too ancient for these kids music lol not my style tho perceived various inspired structural guitar mechanisms Ritchie Blackmore - Rory Gallagher - Jimmy Page I'd be more 70's/80's (NWOBHM) Iron Maiden - Black Sabbath - Motörhead. tho I'd find it complex to compete with the 60's. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin etc those 60's/70's/80's decade generation had the best music in any genre era :) NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) for those young gen who don't know) is a colloquial glamorized term used to describe the surge of heavy metal bands via United Kingdom from the mid '70's to the late '80's. Often considered to combine a higher tempo of what Judas Priest did with new complexity and structure. But HOW is that structure defined musically? Is it the guitar solos? Tempo, dual guitars? Many NWOBHM bands are distinctly structural mechanism different, so it's complex to label them under one description, so why would that super broad term be there? Take a band like Venom and try to compare them to Iron Maiden and compare them to Motorhead. They sound completely different. But unify them together under the title of NWOBHM musically.
This is not kids music. Most of the people who follow bands like Gacharic Spin already know all these bands you mentioned. We’re just moving on. I already listened enough NWOBM and all these 60’s, 70’s or 80’s bands. Even the 90’s had great bands/artists. There’s so many great music these days but some people like to be stuck in the past. I can’t blame them, to each their own.
This is something each listener has to decide for him-/herself. If you still put the emphasis on guitar and have a taste for a more puritan style of metal, then a lot of the genre-bending bands of today are probably not for you. A ton of my friends can't get away from the traditional formula. With exceptions, they will not listen to stuff that contains keyboards, female vocalists, non english language, rap. And that's absolutely ok, but makes discovering new music with them almost impossible unfortunately. I still pull out Painkiller, Made in Japan or Wheels of Steel once in a while to get my old school fix. But mostly I moved on, cause I want to listen to new exciting stuff and were lucky to still have people put out stuff that makes my heart beat faster :) Also, a lot of people can only accept new stuff in small doses and they will probably end up with bands like Band-Maid or Lovebites, cause it's still pretty much Metal/Rock at the core with 2 guitars panned left and right. Gacharic Spin will deviate too much from their comfort zone and will not make it onto their playlists. Like 2abug said, that's ok! But for me, GS checks all the boxes! Cheers :)
I like the way you appreciate music. Would be cool to see you at a concert someday. Be well. 😎🤘🏻
