I think it's the reason Eugene is showing up more than once, he hated it stuck in the studio. But it being a plog makes it unique enough for Eugene to join.
I literally LOVED the moment when they mentioned Hank Green and Zach said something about Hank being an attractive man, and Keith stopped his whole train of thought to say “Well you know people say I look just like Hank Green” and he looked so smug and legit happy, lol
Rainie is Dorothy. Sorry, but she's the younger, newcomer. Keith is the scarecrow. He downplays his intelligence. Miles is Tin Man, he does not express his depth of emotion, but clearly has it. And Zach is the The Lion, wants to be liked and admired, is braver than he admits to.
Valid but I feel after he who must not be named left Zach has really begun to show how smart he is behind he scenes and take the scarecrow role while Keith, the performer, inside and out could be the lion 🦁
Man, Keith really talked up that generic peanut butter chocolate wafer thing at the beginning but I bet it wasn't even a quarter as good as a Clingsberry Crunch
I think you're confused. They said Eugene wasn't on because he had too many lines to remember. Those people were all different Try employees. They are usually not on camera so I get the confusion.
Petition to have chaotic Eugene segments scattered throughout the plod, in which Eugene just comes in and does whatever the hell he wants and says whatever he wants.
Eugene is giving exhausted, didn't sleep at the sleepover energy and I loooooooove it lmao Always happy to see him on the Pod but he's exceptionally sillygoose today!
As someone who worked for a Shakespeare company for 10 years, it’s so exciting for y’all to not only be doing this but also actually doing the proper work for it and showcasing the legitimate types of training you need as a classical performer. Not only do you need to be a trained actor but also trained in the text as well. This is so cool
49:41 Literally crying because I’m laughing too hard at the idea of college freshman Keith starving because he didn’t understand his meal plan because same😂
The description of ensemble actors having that one bit is so true. I remember the high that I had when I was ensemble in Cinderella and I decided my character was going to be visibly excited and overwhelmed when getting to dance with the prince for 5 seconds. It got a laugh every show and it made the rest of my year.
On this topic, in middle school they did a pirate musical (forget what it was called) but they let us add in lines if we wanted (like we spent 2 days brainstorming and placing them throughout the script). The only one I came up with and my only spoken line "can I touch your sword?" 😂
My star moment as an ensemble member in the musical my freshman year was during Coffee Break in How to Succeed, we needed someone to do a horror movie-style scream during the bridge, so I screamed as loud as I could (I was really shy so most people had barely heard me talk) but it was really good so they picked me. For the preview, I was standing on the edge of the stage in front of where all the juniors sit for school assemblies, and I saw boys who laughed at me in the hallways jump in their seats. I did not have a single line, but I had a very memorable moment.
I was a stenographer in Millie in high school too, Raine!!! We had to learn how to tap dance in heels all summer before rehearsals started and I had ingrown toenails for years afterward!
Rainie, hell yeah with a NUMTOT mention. Miles, riding a bike (and other non-vehicles) for transportation is dope and everyone who is able should do it because it's safer and better for the world! Looking forward to the show tonight :)
The audiobook of The Wizard of Oz narrated by Anne Hathaway is so fuckin good thooooo I desperately need her to narrate every book I’ve ever wanted to read
keith thinking his dining credits were for the whole year instead of a semester so he starved himself for a whole semester has to be one of THE FUNNIEST stories i had tears in my eyes when he was telling that story 😭💀
Need to highlight that in Psych Gus' superhero character is a Tap Man. He distracts his enemies with his fancy feet and then throws sand in their eyes. The superhero we need
i just got done playing widow corney in a community theatre production of oliver (i’m a 27 y/o woman so if you know the show you know that’s actually kind of funny) and miles singing “boy for sale” made me laugh for like five minutes, so thank you for that
Yes, the Phantom Tollbooth. I wasn't a theater kid, but in school for one of my classes we had to do that in 6th grade, and it was probably one of the few actual plays I did.
While it may sound really goofy, but this was the podcast episode that inspired me to do theatre. I was thinking about it for a while, since sophomore year two years ago, but I never did until this year. It was only after listening to this episode for the 7th time did I decide that I should do theatre--besides my school was doing my favorite Shakespeare play. I had never done an extracurricular that required commitment, so when it came to it I struggled at first with staying after school everyday. To add onto that I was alone for the majority of the time because people already knew each other. Even so, I did get to meet some amazing people (though I am still a bit intimidated by them). I'm glad to have had the experience. Also, my school is doing Oliver as well, so when they announced it for the Spring musical I immediately thought of Miles singing "Boy for Sale".
school theater is TERRIFYING. tbh if you’re able, i’d recommend finding a local community theater and trying to do something there! school theater has always intimidated me, but i’ve found some really great friends at the community theater program i do
Rainie is me😂 because as soon as the boys said the Lord of the Rings cards I was like “oh Post Malone has it because I learned on Call Her Daddy” and I was excited that maybe that’s how they knew😂 I’m glad Rainie also had that reference
I'm really happy to see the Try Guys altogether. 🥰 I would really love to watch their show that they're working so hard for, but unfortunately I'm broke.😅 Uuugh I'm so happy to see you all together!!! Goodluck on the show!!!
Regarding what Rainie said about LOTR: if i remember correctly, LOTR was originally published (or written?) in 7 parts/novels but later on the publisher decided to put them together in 3 volumes instead so now most people just know LOTR as a trilogy. I'm only aware o this because I was gifted the full 7-parts boxset of LOTR books for Christmas around the time Peter Jackson's FOTR movie first came out. (And yes, my excited nerdy self managed to read 85% of the whole series within a few days right before I went to see FOTR in theatre.)
Wizard of Oz: My Cast Eugene: the Witches Miles: Dorothy Keith: Tin Man Zach: Scarecrow Jonny Cakes: The Lion Kwesi James: OZ Rachel: Auntie Em June and Poppy: The munchkins ❤
I started listening to this while doing other things and got so confused by the beginning part with Eugene on a ladder that I had to stop and come watch the visuals. 10/10 makes a lot more sense with the visuals.
I did musical theater from 4/5th through 8th grade in the summer. In high school, I stuck to band and choir, no theater. In the Wizard of Oz, I was a poppy. I think that was my second show.
48:30, I thought the same thing re: my dining plan being for the whole year, and then having SO much money, i just bought a whole afternoon of food for whoever wanted it on my birthday!
Can the next pod be about how the production went? It can be real inside baseball. What was the engagement like, what are the lessons learned, will there be another production similar to this?
the plog concept was the best thing to ever happen to the trypod
Facts
💯💯💯
Well, second best. The synth arc was legendary
I think it's the reason Eugene is showing up more than once,
he hated it stuck in the studio.
But it being a plog makes it unique enough for Eugene to join.
Truer words have never been said!
Eugene floating in and out (of both frame and character) is a wonderfully plog-specific feature that fits so naturally.
Reminds me of when they had the Eugene cut out in the studio 😄
@@m1ssb0ba oh my god yes, that's where I recognized him from! 😆
I've now rewatched this twice, since it's just so fun. "Cautious Cameraman Corey! Very cautious!"
Eugene just creeping around doing whatever character he wants is breaking me
The romantic chemistry between Zach and Keith since they started Romeo & Juliet is evident 😂
I literally LOVED the moment when they mentioned Hank Green and Zach said something about Hank being an attractive man, and Keith stopped his whole train of thought to say “Well you know people say I look just like Hank Green” and he looked so smug and legit happy, lol
Hear me out - Try Guys Christmas Carol Live. Miles is Scrooge, Zach is Tiny Tim, Keith is Bob Cratchit and Eugene is all the ghosts
Omg I love this!
Omg they have to!!! It would be so much fun
zach as tiny tim is priiiiceless
Rainie is Dorothy. Sorry, but she's the younger, newcomer. Keith is the scarecrow. He downplays his intelligence. Miles is Tin Man, he does not express his depth of emotion, but clearly has it. And Zach is the The Lion, wants to be liked and admired, is braver than he admits to.
Eugene is Glinda. This is all such perfect casting!
why was this so accurate lol
Valid but I feel after he who must not be named left Zach has really begun to show how smart he is behind he scenes and take the scarecrow role while Keith, the performer, inside and out could be the lion 🦁
this is so accurate i may cry
amen
Eugene: declines plog invitation. Constantly disrupts 😂
Man, Keith really talked up that generic peanut butter chocolate wafer thing at the beginning but I bet it wasn't even a quarter as good as a Clingsberry Crunch
This should be the top comment 😂
i bet it didn’t even have any raspberry gunk
The Try Staff being this plog’s “research team” is too iconic!!
"Sometimes you see a ladder and you gotta climb in and construct some fucking falsehoods,,,, you know what i mean?" Yah me too Mechanic Joe
Eugene and his characters need to be on the plog more often 😂 What a true delight
I think you're confused. They said Eugene wasn't on because he had too many lines to remember. Those people were all different Try employees. They are usually not on camera so I get the confusion.
One thing is clear… is they gotta do the lord of the rings trilogy on guilty pleasures with miles and Keith once the strikes end in 1000 years
Seeing Eugene be silly and actually on the trod is so cute and makes my heart happy
Petition to have chaotic Eugene segments scattered throughout the plod, in which Eugene just comes in and does whatever the hell he wants and says whatever he wants.
goofy eugene gets me EVERY time - can liar ladder larry be an option to vote on in the livestream??
Eugene is giving exhausted, didn't sleep at the sleepover energy and I loooooooove it lmao Always happy to see him on the Pod but he's exceptionally sillygoose today!
“Thats not going anywhere” SUCH AN UNDERRATED MOMENT BC EVERY DAD DOES SAY THAT WTF LOL
Jack coming in with the Amazon history facts was 👌🏻
I started listening on Spotify but switched here to watch Eugene be chaotic and I love it 🥲
The sibling energy between Miles and Rainie continues to be my favorite thing
Silly goofy mood Eugene is the best
Can't wait for the show tonight! I was crying laughing at Keith's "I STARVED MYSELF." Same energy as "GOD MADE ME WITHOUT ARMS" 😂
49:41 Literally crying because I’m laughing too hard at the idea of college freshman Keith starving because he didn’t understand his meal plan because same😂
I love that Zac wrote Tap Man as a kid, and Gus from Psych was Tap Man 😂. The crossover I never knew I needed 🍍
I was coming to the comments to see if there were any other Psych fans!! 🥰
The description of ensemble actors having that one bit is so true. I remember the high that I had when I was ensemble in Cinderella and I decided my character was going to be visibly excited and overwhelmed when getting to dance with the prince for 5 seconds. It got a laugh every show and it made the rest of my year.
Keith specifying that he went to Music Camp, not just Band Camp was hilarious!
Jack is giving very big plog energy, i love it!!!
Eugene just floating into the scene is the first sign of this being an excellent plog
The sheer amount of revelation experienced with Rainie saying, "TROGS!"
Love how supportive Jack is of the Plog 😂
Ok but Eugene was living his life and I haven't had such a genuine laugh in a while! He's a treasure and I hope he's happy!
Jack was the best pop up reseach team 😂. Loved the 60 minutes segment. I would have ended up down that rabbit hole for sure.
The hilarity that ensued while they were talking about their theater pasts was gold. 😂
This is so much better after watching the live. Eugene's nurse was hilarious
On this topic, in middle school they did a pirate musical (forget what it was called) but they let us add in lines if we wanted (like we spent 2 days brainstorming and placing them throughout the script). The only one I came up with and my only spoken line "can I touch your sword?" 😂
The moment Zach forgot his line in the live was THE FUNNIEST moment!! 🤣
This is the best location so far! All the try team besties together ❤️
This is like hanging out with friends . Love the vibe
the little handholding moment that happened at 37:39 was adorable
Watching this after the live show/play. You guys did soooo well. 🎉
Eugene has just gone off the walls this episode 😂
I think that's just Eugene !!!!😂
I was a stenographer in Millie in high school too, Raine!!! We had to learn how to tap dance in heels all summer before rehearsals started and I had ingrown toenails for years afterward!
I love it when Keith does theme songs and I can't wait to see the play it's going to be so good! 😊
I love silly sleep deprived Eugene 😂
Eugene casually climbing the ladder in the back lol
Dude I love Keith's orange shoes
These plog's bring me so much joy 💙🩷💜🩷🩵
Rainie, hell yeah with a NUMTOT mention. Miles, riding a bike (and other non-vehicles) for transportation is dope and everyone who is able should do it because it's safer and better for the world! Looking forward to the show tonight :)
"Y'all know osha?" spit my water out bc yes, yes i do know her. I work construction 😂
The audiobook of The Wizard of Oz narrated by Anne Hathaway is so fuckin good thooooo
I desperately need her to narrate every book I’ve ever wanted to read
keith thinking his dining credits were for the whole year instead of a semester so he starved himself for a whole semester has to be one of THE FUNNIEST stories i had tears in my eyes when he was telling that story 😭💀
It’s nice to see Eugene participating with the company. He’s so private about his life that we barely get to see him. 😢
Need to highlight that in Psych Gus' superhero character is a Tap Man. He distracts his enemies with his fancy feet and then throws sand in their eyes. The superhero we need
Guys…who’s going to tell them Verona is a real place?
The Plogffice Season 1, Episode 1.
P.S. Good luck with the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ performance! 👏🏽
Rainie's face at 48:12 after Zach's show-mance college conundrum
Plogging, as I know it, means picking up litter along your route while jogging or riding a bike lol
i just got done playing widow corney in a community theatre production of oliver (i’m a 27 y/o woman so if you know the show you know that’s actually kind of funny) and miles singing “boy for sale” made me laugh for like five minutes, so thank you for that
Yes, the Phantom Tollbooth. I wasn't a theater kid, but in school for one of my classes we had to do that in 6th grade, and it was probably one of the few actual plays I did.
KEITH IS FINALLY BACK
Honestly just came to comment and say that I’m diggin Keith’s snazzy shoes.
While it may sound really goofy, but this was the podcast episode that inspired me to do theatre. I was thinking about it for a while, since sophomore year two years ago, but I never did until this year. It was only after listening to this episode for the 7th time did I decide that I should do theatre--besides my school was doing my favorite Shakespeare play. school theater is TERRIFYING. tbh if you’re able, i’d recommend finding a local community theater and trying to do something there! school theater has always intimidated me, but i’ve found some really great friends at the community theater program i do
“🎶The Phantom of the Toll Booth is here🎶” - keep singing, Keith💙
Rainie is me😂 because as soon as the boys said the Lord of the Rings cards I was like “oh Post Malone has it because I learned on Call Her Daddy” and I was excited that maybe that’s how they knew😂 I’m glad Rainie also had that reference
i cant keep up with podcasts cuz of my attention span but every time a new trypod drops my body swells with immense joy
WAIT CAN WE HAVE A SERIES CALLED MECHANIC JOE WHERE EUGENE TRIES TO DO BASIC HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS- IE LIGHT PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL WORK
Their presentation of Romeo and Juliet was the best I’ve ever seen. Everyone’s performances were amazing. I hope y’all do more! Bravo!
I was in the Phantom Tollbooth not once but twice as a child. Spelling Bee and Dodecahedron... iconic characters
Living for Eugene’s energy in this
Thanks for the laughs while I procrastinate
I'm really happy to see the Try Guys altogether. 🥰 I would really love to watch their show that they're working so hard for, but unfortunately I'm broke.😅 Uuugh I'm so happy to see you all together!!! Goodluck on the show!!!
The best way to describe this polling is the morning at school before the fire let rip. Everyone is just so excited and goofy, and I LOVE IT
I’m glad Keith is back on the pod
Plog is hands down the greatest internet content right now🎉
Regarding what Rainie said about LOTR: if i remember correctly, LOTR was originally published (or written?) in 7 parts/novels but later on the publisher decided to put them together in 3 volumes instead so now most people just know LOTR as a trilogy. Keith is the only freshman who avoided the freshman 15
Zach - Dorothy
Raini - scarecrow
Miles - lion
Keith - tin man
This stuff keeps me from having a mental breakdown
the office moment is a moment i truly needed
Wizard of Oz: My Cast
Eugene: the Witches
Miles: Dorothy
Keith: Tin Man
Zach: Scarecrow
Jonny Cakes: The Lion
Kwesi James: OZ
Rachel: Auntie Em
June and Poppy: The munchkins ❤
Add Rainie as Toto and you might have nailed it
I love how Zach keep pointing out again and again how much of a dad Miles acts like now. 😂
I missed Keith ❤️❤️
Eugene's cameos made my day 😂❤
Miss hearing Eugene's giggle 😊
I have to work tonight but I still bought a ticket for the show tonight to watch the vod after!! Sad I’ll miss the stream though 😢
I love all the staff so much! ❤
This plog was so unhinged and i... I can't. Too much 🤣
I did the Romeo Romeo soliloquy in French at a language camp the summer before my senior year of HS
Jack is answering the real questions here. I was wondering since I found out Amazon owns plog what they were doing with it lol
48:30, I thought the same thing re: my dining plan being for the whole year, and then having SO much money, i just bought a whole afternoon of food for whoever wanted it on my birthday!
Retitle this plog former band/theater kids nerding out as adults for 1:07. A true delight 🤌🏼
Loved the more in depth talk about the show! I like having a better idea of what to expect. Really looking forward to it!
Wouldn’t Romeo and Juliet technically be speaking in Italian accents bc the play takes place in Verona
Eugene cracks me up 😂❤
Can the next pod be about how the production went? It can be real inside baseball. What was the engagement like, what are the lessons learned, will there be another production similar to this?
Romeo and Juliet was amazing! It was hilarious, and the acting was fantastic! ❤
