Ships would explode in fireballs but they would probably look less like a conventional Hollywood explosion and be more like a dissipating energy orb. The way Death Star II explodes, the hand-drawn orb and ring of energy with sparkles and debris in all directions, is actually the most space accurate of the explosions we see. Star Wars the Acolyte (in a world that didnt hate starwars, or men, or George Lucas(why would someone hate him?)) It takes place several centuries before the battle of Yavin. The Jedi Council has become concerned with a breakaway faction of Jedi, who were human-centric though possessing a few aliens they felt had some value, and highly focused on policing the actions of others. Rather than start a terrible conflict or purge them, Master Yoda has suggested giving them time and space to mature. This group of young and impatient Jedi have been cutting a swath through the Republic for nearly 20 years before their actions begin to truly come back to haunt them. One of their newly gained apprentices they took by force from a world full of Dark Side users, has slowly started to show signs of being out of control even for them. Worst, mysterious deaths follow the Jedi in their wake, not of dead Jedi, but of people they have interviewed or helped. To try to make contact with the darkside users and see if it would be possible to get them to come under the Jedi's influence and protection(to join the lightside usage instead.) Over the story we slowly have it revealed their wasn't just one Jedi who was forcibly pulled from their families by this young impertinent Jedi faction, and the one from the dark side world, had siblings. who are very upset and pursuing in their wake, finally strong enough. training for years to be able to take back their sibling by force. The Force. The ensuing conflict may very well tear apart the republic. Leaving a sense of disturbance about just what the Jedi are, and causing many of them to risk being tainted and fall to the dark side. SW Theory stays cucked by Disney optimism. He needs to fully accept that it is shit. I remember his positive review of The Last Jedi at the time was why I unsubscribed from him back in the day. He is slow to accept that shit is shit.
The Jedi were empowered to pick up and train kids that were force users because untrained they were more likely to use their power for petty personal reasons and thus fall to the dark side. Dark side force users can be extremely difficult to deal with once they get going. Similar idea is explored in my favourite urban fantasy series The Dresden Files although if the white council of wizards met the Jedi they'd probably execute the lot of them.
RLM have gone into the decline of movie quality a LOT. It's just in random snippets over the course of the last decade, and not in any concise form. I've watched almost every video they have made and have heard all three of them mention this. They even say what they would do to improve this situation, but I guess they just don't want to bother too much with the less fun aspects of movies/videos and go for the more enjoyable stuff like re:View and BoTW. I know what I'd rather do.
Old Luke should have an unarmed force-defended fight style. Imagine Luke who's gone fully pacifist, to the point where Leia's military has stopped takin the old man seriously anymore, but then when everyone gets fucked up by a gang of force-abusing teenage Sith, Luke just calmly walks in and disarms all of them nonlethally. They all laugh at the old disarmed guy, their Palpatine-following leader thinks "well Luke will have to get his hands dirty on a bunch of kids to get to me, I've got him right where I want him". But no matter who runs at him or how many at a time, he just weaves through them and sends them to the floor missing teeth and their weapon, leaders in the back shitting themselves as they run out of pawns to throw at him.
Is it even necessary for Disney to have the rights to Star Wars when pumping out something like the Acolyte? It's like a terrible fan fiction story avoiding stepping on any previous canon or logical story points
The Stormtrooper bumping his head, the car in Lord of the Rings, the back of the set on Book of Boba, the coffee cup in Game of Thrones, the bad camera angle on Luke's kick. These are the kinds of things I overlook - so long as they aren't prevalent in a movie/show. They're just technical mistakes that weren't noticed until it was too late. Put it this way, of all my criticisms of Game of Thrones seasons 5-8, I have never once mentioned or even thought about the coffee cup. I am kind of surprised George never fixed the head bump in the special editions. Could imagine a floating Stormtrooper head awkwardly moving to avoid the door, a la Han stepping on Jabba
You mean 15 minutes of seeing the same trailer clip looped a hundred times with his inane obvious repetitive criticism overlayed? Oh yes, I cannot wait.

Hot take: I think FMA Brotherhood is overrated. It does some things really well, but other things poorly. i.e. the MCs have minimal, if any, impact on the crisis resolution. Edward lands the last hit on the final boss, but it could have been done by any competent alchemist, and there were tons in the area. Hohenheim and Scar are the major players who do the most to resolve the crisis and Edward and Alphonse are mostly just passively swept up in the flow of the machinations of others and their actions never really shape the plot in any significant way.

Right, but it crossed my mind to hear it differently.
The visual aspect stood out to me. All of the color saturation, contrast, tinting, hues, etc. felt so muted & colorless. It made it feel so depressingly beige and lifelessly grey. Maybe that’s what they were going for though…?
In Acolyte?
Yes
SW Theory stays cucked by Disney optimism. He needs to fully accept that it is shit. I remember his positive review of The Last Jedi at the time was why I unsubscribed from him back in the day. He is slow to accept that shit is shit.
I don't know if he's cucked, or he's really just an extremely boring and unintelligent person.
The Jedi were empowered to pick up and train kids that were force users because untrained they were more likely to use their power for petty personal reasons and thus fall to the dark side. Dark side force users can be extremely difficult to deal with once they get going. Similar idea is explored in my favourite urban fantasy series The Dresden Files although if the white council of wizards met the Jedi they'd probably execute the lot of them.
if you consider the games and the series , order 66 was really ineffective , a ton of jedis and padawans survived :I
RLM have gone into the decline of movie quality a LOT.
Anyone seen the "Brick Vader" mashup?
Han: (opens fire)
Vader: "Gimme that fackn' shoota!" (Nods to Boba Fett) "Get us a cup'a tea, wouldya Errol?"
Why does the big bad guy of the series see the Jedi the same way as a 9 year old?
Bruh you still didn't read out my superchat :\
What do you guys think about Tony Gilroy?
Is it even necessary for Disney to have the rights to Star Wars when pumping out something like the Acolyte? It's like a terrible fan fiction story avoiding stepping on any previous canon or logical story points
Wtf is a "sweet summer child"?? 😄
Anyone else looking forward to Drinker's review of The Faggolyte?
You mean 15 minutes of seeing the same trailer clip looped a hundred times with his inane obvious repetitive criticism overlayed? Oh yes, I cannot wait.
There used to be naturally cool and interesting female jedi. Now that the force is female they all kind of vanished or were corrupted
Yeah, the feminist overcompensation is just cringe and embarrassing. You can tell that the tourist ideaolouges writing Star Wars now know nothing about characters like Mara Jade or Jaina Solo.
In Disney's show bad batch the empire was kidnapping force sensitive children. Not Jedi.
Is Drinker missing my Super Chats or am I? Is he too drunk to notice or am I? Don't know!
This two mothers stuff is gonna be a way to explain anakins birth
Oh, for feck sake.
Dune 2 spit all over Herbert's novels. Absolute trash. You though Dune 1 was bad, this was worse.
Finally someone who gets it.
Chani rejection of Paul undermines the power, reach and level of control of the Bene Gesserit. She's not supposed to doubt ages of seeded Bene Gesserit manifactured prophecy. Dune is a civil war battle of the Bene Gesserit Paul, his mother, his sister vs the order.
I miss Jar Jar... With everything coming out now I miss the days where he was considered the worst thing about Star Wars
Anytime you think of having Theory on, just invite Ryan Kinel instead, he actually knows what he’s talking about and won’t shill for Disney/Filoni/Favreau
I'm glad that brought Ryan on for the EFAP TV episodes covering The Acolyte.
I'd rather see how different the Lord & Miller version of SOLO is. BttF would be the same, pretty much, right?
Dave Filoni is woke, he showed that at that womens event. I think the reason theory has hope in Filoni still is because Filoni knows his lore and knows which keys to jangle. I too once had faith in Dave but its over now
Hot take: I think FMA Brotherhood is overrated.
You missed my SuperChat
Is Leslie Headland any relation to Ernest Borgnine ? I'm getting a Borgninie vibe from her .. visually.
