Can I say Marc Brunet is my art teacher when my relatives ask me who taught me how to draw.. even If I only watch free tutorials and press the like button?..
One tip I have is don't be afraid to have multiple journals, don't be afraid to stop for a while. Creativity comes in cycles and you not always going to be wanting to write.
Bro i feel like rn is the best time to become a pro artist, like look at gen A kids, those dudes don't have enough attention to watch a full yt video, that's why yt created yt shorts, and here we are with a hobby that requires daily 2-7 hours sessions of dedicated practice. This video really streamlines the entire process, and god, I'm so thankful for it. I've been drawing since I was a kid (over 20 years ago), and I never properly learned anatomy. Which is probably why drawing people has never been a strong suit of mine. But this has definitely been an inspiration, so thank you!
These shorter videos are great for helping me get back on track. Sometimes I get a bit lost with trying to learn everything, these help bring me back to base line.
I missed this class noooooo! Dang it now I'll have to speedrun the class. Very important video for someone like me as someone who want's to be a character artist
Hi sir. I have a question. Is it advisable for a beginner artist to learn gestures and construction before learning anatomy? Secondly, Can you make a video about like a roadmap to becoming a professional artist? It would really help a lot of people, including me. Thanks so much for your response in advance and time.
This one is really useful to remember and always keep in mind. The last necessary skill game me a thought : The designers of Concord never saw a Marc Brunet video. Else they might've last more than 8 days. That game being heavily criticized for it's bad character designs. I was kinda expecting Marc fixing Concord characters too as some other professional character artists in youtube. But yeah, I won't mind Marc pointing out what's wrong with those designs at least. Whether the color harmony or messy shape languages etc. Great example of how character designs in a game (what our prof x expertise at) can be vital in the success or failure of even big budgets games such as overwatch or concord.
Yesss mannn. This is awesome. Just keep this kind of video coming. It helps us a loooot. Thank you for putting your effort into these basic classes. Bless you, and love you 💋
How many butts do I need to look at before I draw the perfect one? - "Akihiko Yoshida" You will do it 8 million times until you get the perfect one and 2b is perfect - "Yoko Taro"
Thanks for this! practiced a lot of gesture and clothes and a bit of anatomy but was stuck, I started construction today and I see I was missing a huge gap in my game.
Hey Marc, been having the issue not knowing what my current level is and what to focus on. And when I try to look for things to focus on I just get overwhelmed by all the possibilities.
I’m watching these videos even though i still don’t (and can’t) draw humans xD. I’ve always found animals more interesting than humans. Maybe someday i finally take the first step. And i’ve noticed that many who can draw humans can’t draw realistic looking animals very well even at a professional level. Which is the case in this video too 😅 horses and chicken wing bones aren’t like that, also the dog like creature and croc looks pretty weird. I know those aren’t in the spotlight but these kind of things have always caught my eyes
Thank you, Marc!!! I will keep working hard!!!! Quick Question, if I've gotten very good at constructing people using boxes and cylinders to the point to where I can visualize those forms just by looking at a reference, is that a sign that i should move on to anatomy? I really would appreciate your input!!! 😁
At 2:00 Hey Marc, would you happen to remember which reference pack this photo came in? I tried searching cubebrush but I couldn't find this particular model, her muscles are defined better than any pack I can seem to find online.
hello from brasil, i am really liking your videos, i can`t buy the course because is expensive for my (because of the convertion, more than a minimum wage/monthly) but the time i have the money i will for sure o7
I have a question, and sorry that it's not about the video, but I've got a training idea and I don't know if it's solid (my idea is to practice a different fundamental every week, but at the end of every week I have to recall what I remember learning by trying to draw it from memory) so my question is: is the training concept solid? I love you too marc you're one of the best art teachers and the factor of my improvement
How do you actually use the mannequins in construction? Say I learn a mannequin and I copy it, great. Do i just start trying to draw it from memory in the same pose? Do i take the pieces of the mannequin nd draw them in different angles? Or do i look at a reference photo, draw the mannequin over it, and then try to draw it side by side then from memory? I guess how do i practice using/implementing the mannequin to help me draw better??
I know this will probably get burried as always, but Marc I gotta try man, I'm an artist in the Philippines and my dream is to really have a job in the art industry as a character designer/concept artist is there a way to pass my portfolio to studios without having to fly to America or something? Much love thanksm
Problem I often have with starting a naked character, I dont understand how to put cloths on it. Often the pose doesnt have enough space for clothing then.
Hi, Which screen recorder to be used to record digital tablet screen. Because after screen recording is done there is a massive colour difference in my actual drawing and recorded footage. Can anyone help here
Marc I have a question Could you make a drawing feral and anthro animals tutorial series based of species because I need to become better at drawing animals from elephants, canines, foxes, wolves, felines, reptiles, primates, sea animals, birds and insects
I like the fact your trying give people condensed packages so they can learn fast but as someone who watches nearly all your vids it feels too samey. Like I am rarely hearing any new stuff just the same old same old said differently and shorter.
I feel like this is because when it comes to learning the fundamentals, the advice is largely the same. Going from beginner to intermediate as a new artist is a lot easier than going from intermediate to advanced. Most of these advice vids are geared towards beginners and early intermediates. What are you currently learning?

Do mistakes matter when doing gesture drawing
@harrietjameson I was told that of your gesture looks like crap then your whole drawing will so I don't do gesture drawing a lot
