i have been obsessed w VW’s since i was around 7. i made my dad bring me to the dealer and i knew he was EMBARRASSED in the early 00’s. my first car i bought in 2011 was a MK4 2.0 GLS. i’ll never forget that car…or the crayon smell🤣 every car until july 2023 was a VW/audi…best years of my life. i now own a jaguar.
oFailBoat 2 point slow baby. Reliable as all hell. I like the drive ability of the 03 1.8t but it’s not as fuel efficient or reliable as your 2.0. Take care of that thing. Coil packs, spark plugs, make sure your motor mounts and suspension is good and she’ll go forever.
From Brasil.....very nice video. I have one GLS 2.0.....still Rock's...i love this car.Is perfect ando so powerfull. Here in Brasil, VW's loved. thks man!!
love the jetta, mine is died at 15 (2002 model) last weekend lol, i think engine died (engine light blinking) and sputters and dies when i try to start it
Nicole Lane YOOO WHAT. YOU COULDVE LEGIT DONE THAT YASELF AND SAVED SO MUCH. Fr fr I never suggest home repair but dude, they just lifted your rear seat, unscrewed the fuel pump and replaced it 🤣 I mean it’s literally plug and play (with a little bit of careful prying/jiggling)
had this car since 2006 and i've paid my fair share in repairs. 161k miles now, 2 alternators, water pump & timing belt, fuel pump, and all the usual maintenance...seemingly all the main components except the transmission and engine. it needs new control arms but I'm not spending on that. ah well, it's been okay to me other than costing me a small fortune in repairs. will drive it into the ground.
I have a 2003 GLI exactly like the one in the video except black. To date I've only replaced the cooling fans and thermostat. Everything else is original at 160,000 miles / 15 years old including the brake pads, a/c, radiator, alternator, etc. There were some minor door lock issues once also, but I've never been stranded, never had an outrageous repair bill.. I couldn't ask for a more reliable car, but I've also treated it right.

Matthew Brown facts. I just got mine and mechanic said all the hoses need to be changed ASAP. This definitely Honda or Toyota these cars HAVE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF OR ELSE. It’s worth it the way it rides and don’t get me started on that powerful sound system
I think we can all relate to the beginning with our key when we first got a vw/audi!
That dude playing with the key in the beginning is totally me😂 I'll always just play with it even in my pocket😂
ant_the_panda and year’s later, VWs (without keyless start) still have that “Switchblade Key”.
Called "Bora" in France. Single owner of mine from 20 years and 300 456kms, and it will do more...
this car is more than 10 years old, but still ROCKS!!! :)
pixelcode 17 years old now :D and still cool!
@@rykerredman6691 what 17. its now 19 years old

32:00 A Federal Signal Thunderbolt makes a cameo appearance
The guy let the gas cap hang on the car, it has a slot so you can hook it on the inside of the gas cap lol
What I’ve never noticed that
Staring at that blue 24v 😍😍😍
mine is almost identical with this, awesome car. if you don't know anything about transmission issues. (these cars may have them :/ )

Haha my check engine lamp is always on haha and I have 2003 vw Jetta is has 206909 miles and still runs like new
I wish I could find a mk4 that nice lol
I wish my key did most of what it was supposed to do. I wish it could lower the windows!
My FAV Jetta is the GLI.
The only fluid we ever put in a Jetta with power steering
LOL @ 6:35! as with any VW, next to using the key, the Check Engine light is the most important thing to familiarize yourself with.
good video, It as a lot of great information!

I had the same issue. Turned out to be the fuel pump failing. (Sorry for the late reply)
For those reading now, that's the fuel pump. Mine died in my 2004 with same symptoms. Cost $468 at a shop to replace.

I have this vhs still in the plastic
A Volkswagen Dealer doesn't care about me, it cares about my money !
Why did use a Gustavo's Cerati song????
I'm surprised
How do I load multiple cd's in the Monsoon sound system in my 2003 Jetta?
Did you figure it out?...
No it only takes one cd at a time
Not sure if you still have it but when I had mine it was in the trunk
What size is the stereo car?

Jaime Frick you make me hopeful for my gls I just bought. 109,500 miles it’s a 1.8t though so it’s been driven harder.
I went today sunday to the tianguis (market) del automóvil and bought this car =)
