Came here looking for some history on my native country, and I’m glad to see how much you covered! Most of your pronunciation was pretty good, and there really aren’t that many videos covering Laos in general. Keep up the great work! :D
@@faelynnhere lol I’m assuming that most of us don’t actually live in our native countries (in the yt restricted case), you don’t have to live in a country to be native to it :D
My dad migrated to America from Laos in 1985 with his parents, and I've been trying to learn more about the country and it's history. This video helped me out, thanks :D
Very well done. As a Lao American my self I would like to say we were proud warriors but terrible politicians who lacked to see the changing world around us like so many kingdoms before. I would just like to comment Lanx Xang split into 4 smaller kingdoms at 1:42 the smallest one being Xiang Kuang fighting amongst each other. Bravo this is probably one of the most accurate and unbiased out there. Thank you.
Lao people are still terrible politicians. Laos defaulted on Chinese loans, and there arent any notable Lao elected officials in America. Maybe its not your thing.
The Ancestors of the Laotian people came from Southern China but I don't think they are Han Chinese as there were many diffrent people in China at that time
can we have [A Super Quick History of Taiwan ] in your [A Super Quick History of China] Comments a lot of people are discuss is taiwan part of china. maybe you can a video talk about this ?
You forgot to mention that (siam) now call Thailand also invaded Laos And destroyed, and. Burn down Lao temples . 4 times. And took our land 16 states And took Lao civilian used as slaves. .. at present now call Lao Esan .. ..today . Live in Thailand.
Yeah that can be true, although ‘Lao’ is used as a descriptive term (Lao food, the Lao language, etc). ‘Laos’ is the pronunciation of the country itself :D
Japan is pronouned "Nihon" according to the nationals of Japan but I would not go on to state that other countries who don't call Japan "Nihon" are wrong.
I'm just saying. Pronunciation of an -s might be wrong according to Lao standards but it's regular for other languages to have a different term or pronunciation than natives of the country itself.

A bit too quick for me, but very nice and interesting in its own way! Love the fact you talk about the less popular topics as well!
I salute you you called a lot of things about my country in my culture
Yes. A new video.
Just spent a week there (Luang Prabang). It is a wonderful place
Great video! Just a heads up though that the inflection on the Lao language will always go down and never up. :)
555 good catch by a linguist here in America. Most have no clue on tonal languages, my first learning Thai but been all over that area in SE Asia.
So are they Chinese or Japanese?

Thank you for pronouncing Vientiane correctly.
A lot of people pronounce it as VIEN-TIEN
Archer: And for what it's worth...I'm pretty sure I just invaded Laos.
Among the current socialist countries remaining, only Laos is the one least talked about, many don't even realized that they're socialist.
Going through to comment on each one of your videos to improve your algorithm results
is there any way for some of your next videos for the wooshing sound to be a bit quieter?

Laos the most most non-consumerist Southeast Asian nation
វប្បធម៌ខ្មែរនិងឡាវស្រដៀងគ្នាណាស់
Yeah to a certain extent..I say Lao & Thai has more similarities. Our language is understandable related. We have alot similar words with lao & thai
Pretty laosy history

It's loan company because I live in Laos
Actually, it's pronounced 'Lao', not 'Laos'.
Yeah that can be true, although ‘Lao’ is used as a descriptive term (Lao food, the Lao language, etc). ‘Laos’ is the pronunciation of the country itself :D
@beyondherstars huh, that’s interesting. Both my parents are Lao and they usually pronounce the s, but that might be because of the English influence.
@beyondherstars you're correct, as there is no word in the Lao language that ends with S 😉
