(But it was too late and the Santa Fe train collided with the Union Pacific train)

Dispatcher: Go ahead. Over.
UP: GET AN EMERGENCY PERSON, SOON AS YOU CAN! THEY JUST HIT THE REAR END OF THIS TRAIN!

UP: IT'S THE HEAD END OF '50!! AND WE CAN SEE A BALL OF FIRE! GET AN EMERGENCY PERSONEL OUT HERE!
Dispatcher: Okay, we have emergency on the way now.

It’s sad. On the Santa Fe Train, there was an EMD F45 & FP45, and both were destroyed in the accident.
Two locomotives that could have had a future in preservation, but were destroyed in an accident instead.
