I love this too. But... They should not allow autotune or background vocals from tape. Good example is Gunilla from Mello 2024 :D She did not sound terrible but just make it really live and you can hear the difference. Benjamin came popular in Finland because he got attention with his looks on Instagram. We hame some UA-camrs/ "influencers" who do music nowadays but they are not singers. They are entertainer. But maybe our world is going to that direction
THis was a FAR far superior touch on Hoida Mut, even if it only got a small amount of actual singing, but when your host is also the winner of Strictly/Dancing w/Stars, you absolutely come up with a killer dance routine for him.

they have reallly been learning ever since Krista Siegfreids reminded them that bat-shit over the top can be quite popular, even if it doesnt win! They got caught by surprise in 2006 and weren't really quite ready in 2007! BUt they DID give us Verka Seduchka that year... so it was a good sign for the future!

ESC Finland 2007 was a next level show back then at the time.
It was the first time when as many led screens were on stage, first time ever led screens on the stage floor.
Now the 2007 show ooks old-school compared to the production nowadays.
Finland is technically pretty advanced and we wanted to show that then.
Don't know how we could do any better than other countries now, who are also making top tier shows. I think it's not even important to try to be better than others. Just to throw a good show on your own style. 😊😊

as Benjamin and the Swedish Jury pointsgiver joked about, there is a serious if freindly rivalry with Sweden (and even Norway these days - but no one takes DR seriously, since it is clear they dont give a damn). So now that YLE has worked out most of the kinks (remember those tiny UMK finals in a small studio ~8-9 years ago?) they are #BringingTheFire

@@Honey-vc4ly nothing, but isn't it common for eurofans to watch the selection of contestants from different countries and write smth like "12 points from Greece/Latvia/Austria etc"? I personally find the Finnish pre-Eurovision show one of the greatest.

Plus their contrasting personal styles really complement each other. I hope they consider entering as a duo one year because they killed it in this opening.
between their mashup, and the Duet of RUOSKA between the twin crazies of Kaarija and Erika Vikman, I dont know how YLE/UMK wil ever be able to match this show - especially since it was held in the largest arena in Finland, a huge jump up from the studios and such it has been in across the last 10 years or so.
