I've seen many movies in my life, but the first season of Spartacus still remains my favorite TV series of all time. Andy was incredible and won't be forgotten. RIP
I just found out a very bizarre fact. The real historical Spartacus was born in 111 BC and died in 71 BC, and Andy Whitfield was born in 1971 and died in 2011. Like the man was destined to play that role for some reason. And yes, I was so touched by his death like everyone else here, like I knew the man personally and I've never felt anything similar for some other celebrity. Maybe there's more to life than we think... Edit: To make things even more weird they both died at 39, go figure.
Cannot be a coincidence at all. Some shows are so influenced by the spiritual realm that there is very real connection made. I was into demon communication years ago and know this to be true. Numbers do not lie. They are signs of what is going on in the spiritual realm. People are oblivious to what they cannot see. A show that presented more graphic hedonism than any show on television, ever, would certainly pay a price for it. I am sure Andy was not the only one who paid. A Christian may say God did this. They may have a point since He is over all but it is not Him doing the dirty work. It is unclean spirits of lust, perversion, murder, death, etc.
GatsuKS the lord works in mysterious ways. I believe he was called back to him. He was a kind soul and had a disease that’s very hard to cure. Also in the documentary he had a premonition telling his children that he will be in the sky looking down to them that he had to leave because he is tired.. like a butterfly with broken wings. I believe it was a year later after his death there was a large butterfly on their door step. Very symbolic.
He *was* Spartacus too ..... he fit the role so well. It was perfect casting. I learned to enjoy Liam McIntyre's portrayal of Spartacus by the last season; but that in between season of 'Vengeance' was so difficult to watch, both because it just wasn't Spartacus to me, and knowing that Andy had passed by then.
If you haven't watched the final end credits for the show at the end of season 3, watch them all the way to the end. The sendoff they do for Andy is beautiful.
Just finished watching the documentary. I think I cried through 80 percent of the film. I've never seen Spartacus. For me he was just a human being battling with cancer. The worst part of watching it was that I knew how it endet and it actually hurt me to see him being so positive. He seemed to be so genuine and a loving father and husband. And his wife was really strong as well. :( I think at the end of the documentary I couldn't stop my tears. So emotional. :/

I was deeply saddened to hear the news, I think like his role as Spartacus he was just as brave making this documentary, so in the style of Andy I'm going to piece my life back together and start my books and ring up my old agent to start acting again. Haven't been on a movie set in over a decade and he's just so inspiring that he had the attitude he had. My thought and prayers go out to his beloved wife, children and family God bless you, I bet he was an amazing guy, taken from us too soon, but what he's left behind will never be forgotten, he's changed my life, that's a legacy, helping others, (thank you Andy.) I just finished watching it myself. Rewatching the Spartacus series on Netflix and it comes up as a suggestion at the end of every episode .... I just couldn't bring myself to watch it until now. I was the same age as Andy and when I heard of his illness, and then later his passing I felt this terrible pain for him and his family - like I knew the man personally. I knew it was going to be difficult to watch, and I was right! Difficult but something so worth seeing. My wife and I have been together as long as Andy and Vashti had been, and have a son and daughter of similar age, only our daughter is the older one. And then entire time watching this documentary I put myself in Andy's place and it's so very emotional to watch. He was determined and hopeful until the end, which is both inspiring and, at times, so painful to watch. To see this young, fit man go through everything he did during this less than 2 year period ..... I lost my mother a year ago. She went from a relatively healthy 65 year old woman to what I can only describe as 20+ years of aging in less than 2 years time, passing away just after her 67th birthday. I recommend anyone who has had, or currently has a loved one dealing with a terrible illness to watch this documentary and hopefully come away with some inspiration and hopefulness from it. Even in Andy's passing, he and his wife loved each other, loved their children, and did what they could to 'Be Here Now' - of course, the title of the film itself, which is something that can be difficult to remember in everyday life itself.

This movie is painful yet powerful and beautiful. It really hurts when he talks about how he's going to beat the cancer and make it through, considering that you know he's not. I thought I would make it through this film without crying, yet by the end I was so teary that I had to pause the video because of how blurry my vision had become. But at the end, it was amazing to see people across the world paying their respects to him. This is one of the few films that deserves a perfect 100% rating.

This man.. he's my favorite character to have ever been put to screen, he was someone I legitimately looked up to as a character and a person, I still watch season 1 Spartacus anytime I have some downtime available.. I was devastated by his death.... It's so unfair, he's such a wonderful person, he's just one of those people too beautiful and good for this world... I'll always miss and remember this man. I just watch this 2017,, how was a special soul and such a pure and great soul left us to heaven and I believe he is in the heaven because the many things that I have learned of him just from one documentary about his real life and how he was gentleman and nice to all of his family and friends,and also I'm sure all people around him feel the same,,RIP
I'm surprised I finished this documentary. It was very emotional, but the message needed to be said..."Be Here Now." Now is all we have. We do not know what the future will bring us or if we will get a chance to see it. All that is irrelevant because we forget to live in the moment which is now. I for one will never get treatment if I get cancer because everyone in my family that got treatment died a lot faster than if they chose not to get treatment. I understand the thinking that goes behind chemo which is trying to stop cancer before it spreads, but sometimes it spreads regardless of treatment. I rather, like Andy, just spend the last moments of my life around friends and family, travel and embrace different cultures than to die in a hospital bed surrounded by despair and agony. This documentary made me realize that family is the most important because they are there when the cameras are off and people wanting your autograph. There is always going to be a new face for the public to talk about, but to your family, you will always be there hero with unconditional love. I'll try my best to stop complaining and getting upset about small issues and start looking at the big picture which is we're all going to die one day so make the most out of life and try to find peace and happiness. Andy Whitfield was the best Spartacus ever and he will always be loved and missed. Beautiful documentary about family, love, happiness, and finding peace through inevitable death. If you all haven't watched Spartacus, I suggest you do. It's one of the best shows TV has to offer. I wish everyone a peaceful and happy life :)
I still watch his movie parts of I am Spartacus! This guy is stil a god! When he got cancer i ask god to give it to me so he could finished s2 , After he died I got cancer myself and almost die of it! But survive and still fighting because once you have it it will never let go of you! So i do miss Andy around for losing his fight angainst this illnes which is killing to much of us daily.... He is an inspiration to me andmy family.....Hope he is ok now and still can watch his children, because that was i affraid of.... not knowing where i will go.....Be here now!

I started watching the show a few days ago, getting excited right away, until I saw 4-5 episodes a day! I didn't know Andy Whitfield as an actor and he immediately took me. When I started seeing season 3, and not recognizing it in spartacus, I said to myself, well, they changed the actor, why? I went to see on the web and I had a shock, it was so bad that I got away from seeing it, I had no more stimuli. maybe I'll go back to see it, I don't know .... R.I.P Andy Whitfield

One of the best documentary i’ve seen in a while. I could live every moment of his struggle and eventual death like i know him personally. Such a powerful documentary. I’m grateful that he visited my country (India) and was able to find some peace with himself.

This man.. he's my favorite character to have ever been put to screen, he was someone I legitimately looked up to as a character and a person, I still watch season 1 Spartacus anytime I have some downtime available.. I was devastated by his death.... It's so unfair, he's such a wonderful person, he's just one of those people too beautiful and good for this world... I'll always miss and remember this man. RIP Andy Whitfield... you were an absolute badass of a human.
I just watch this 2017,, how was a special soul and such a pure and great soul left us to heaven and I believe he is in the heaven because the many things that I have learned of him just from one documentary about his real life and how he was gentleman and nice to all of his family and friends,and also I'm sure all people around him feel the same,,RIP

I'm surprised I finished this documentary. It was very emotional, but the message needed to be said..."Be Here Now." Now is all we have. We do not know what the future will bring us or if we will get a chance to see it. All that is irrelevant because we forget to live in the moment which is now. I for one will never get treatment if I get cancer because everyone in my family that got treatment died a lot faster than if they chose not to get treatment. I understand the thinking that goes behind chemo which is trying to stop cancer before it spreads, but sometimes it spreads regardless of treatment. I rather, like Andy, just spend the last moments of my life around friends and family, travel and embrace different cultures than to die in a hospital bed surrounded by despair and agony. This documentary made me realize that family is the most important because they are there when the cameras are off and people wanting your autograph. There is always going to be a new face for the public to talk about, but to your family, you will always be there hero with unconditional love. I'll try my best to stop complaining and getting upset about small issues and start looking at the big picture which is we're all going to die one day so make the most out of life and try to find peace and happiness. Andy Whitfield was the best Spartacus ever and he will always be loved and missed. Beautiful documentary about family, love, happiness, and finding peace through inevitable death. If you all haven't watched Spartacus, I suggest you do. It's one of the best shows TV has to offer. I wish everyone a peaceful and happy life :)

I still watch his movie parts of I am Spartacus! This guy is stil a god! When he got cancer i ask god to give it to me so he could finished s2 , After he died I got cancer myself and almost die of it! But survive and still fighting because once you have it it will never let go of you! So i do miss Andy around for losing his fight angainst this illnes which is killing to much of us daily.... He is an inspiration to me andmy family.....Hope he is ok now and still can watch his children, because that was i affraid of.... not knowing where i will go.....Be here now!

Bro I just finished season 1 of Spartacus and I didn't know he had passed until reading about the show online and I came across an article saying he had cancer and had passed away in 2011 my heart absolutely sunk like I'm close to being in tears he was a terrific actor and good person RIP Andy Whitfield

I started watching the show a few days ago, getting excited right away, until I saw 4-5 episodes a day! I didn't know Andy Whitfield as an actor and he immediately took me. When I started seeing season 3, and not recognizing it in spartacus, I said to myself, well, they changed the actor, why? I went to see on the web and I had a shock, it was so bad that I got away from seeing it, I had no more stimuli. maybe I'll go back to see it, I don't know .... R.I.P Andy Whitfield

fuck....never thought this movie would make me cry so much.....at first glance I thought this is gonna be a film made by rich people on how they overcome cancer by using there countless resources because of the money they have..but it proved me wrong. they are a Beautiful family and they have honor and value a s sacrifice. and before the film ended i was convinced in my heart he was gonna beat it....He is such a beautiful person.
