- 2016 BMW 340i exhaust clips with stock exhaust, muffler delete, then catless downpipe with muffler delete. The resonators are still installed in all the videos!

No transmission issues? I also have a 2016 BMW 340i and my ZF8 when it gets hot (or after tons of pulls) it'll sound supercharger whiney. Only got the car 3 months ago so a little paranoid but if you've had that noise and been running strong I would be alot more confident in the car haha
Hey man I know the exact whine that your talking about and you don’t have to be worried that it is normal with BMW or even any European car for the most part not exactly sure what it is that causes the whine but I’ve driven Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes, etc and I always hear this whine on the higher rpms.

im a daily light and heavy duty diff mechanic and usually winding sound like u talk sounds exactly like a differential winding because it changes whenever you slightly press or depress gas pedal but again on my car im sceptical it could be that because sounds isn't the same on different gears wich makes me think that it's coming from the tranny itself and not the diff so if all of you guys have the same noise I guess it is normal

How's this car been reliability wise?? I had a horrible past with BMWs. I want to like them, and these CPO are a great bargain, but I'm really hesitant after my x5 and e46 sucked so bad. Maybe they just had horrible owners, idk. But nothing but oil leaks and sensor problems with them when i had em. Thanks for your input in advance
Haven’t had any issues yet and I’ve had it for about a year and a half. I track her, drive her hard and just do normal maintenance and upkeep.
My 440 has been perfectly reliable.
any idea why the car was smoking with a catless downpipe?
Was right after I fitted the pipe so most likely just burning off the oil on the pipe

Any idea what the stock diameter is of the exhaust on the 340i? I'm trying to get a Y pipe with electric cutout but can't seem to find what the diameter i should get

What would you recommend? This setup with the muffler deleted and the catless downpipes? Or dual resonator delete with the stock muffler on and catless downpipies? If you know what the difference is, that would be great because there seems to be mixed answers on which is better.

Not sure how it sounds without the resonator delete. I like it with the Catless DP and muffler delete, only get a drone around 1700-1800ish RPMs
I think muffler and secondary cat delete and catless dp would sound nice if you only kept the resanator i won’t know i hoping someone does

I'm iffy about muffler deletes (this one sounds good, others sound trash).
Test drove an m235i & m240i and was wondering why they sounded a bit louder and I realized they dont have the boxed resonated like the 340i so I think if you delete that paired with a high flow cat it will sound pretty good. If you go catless and remove both resonators it will sound super raspy.
@@len8140 you can do an electric or vacuum actuated cutout on a Y pipe
What did you do with the exhaust valves??
Just removed it and taped up the connector and zip tied it out of the way. It kicks out a code for it being disconnected but it doesn’t trigger a CEL

Catless DP with muffler delete, just wish I had a bigger resonator to kill the drone at 1700ish RPMs.
How’s the cabin drone with the muffler delete?
At low RPMs I can hear it but not bad with the resonators

I’d recommend swapping the primary resonator with a vibrant ultra quiet, will kill more drone the the factory one will. Or at least it did for me.
@Justin Wallace I’m running the downpipe and muffler delete on my car right now and the drone is unbearable. Was thinking about a vibrant resonator. I should replace the stock cylindrical resonator with the vibrant one, right?
