Paystreak, A little tip on Tesoro's. If you get a hit and raise the coil slightly as you sweep, the signal will break up slightly on trash like bottlecaps, foil and tabs. Bill
Jeremy, I sold mine over the years, wasn’t a coin/park hunter. I’ve been mostly open woods, trenches, etc for civil war relics. You can take a Tesoro in the beat up places I go, you won’t get a whisper with the older machines. Targets are 12”-17” measured with a pinpointer. I knew guys that hunted trash and old homesites with Tesoro and did well. I swear, I’ve seen guys that only used that little starter Tesoro and slayed it in curb strips.
I had a tesoro compadre years back and was a fun easy to use machine that I would find a target with and just raise the discrimination to get a better understanding of what I might be digging up. How many detectors do you own Jeremy
The person I bought my metal detector from uses a beep machine and he places high in the competition. He always uses a beep machine while in competition. He will often go out of State. Thanks for the video.
Those old analog detectors are definitely not obsolete. My buddy found 4 rings in 4 hours with that Tesoro Compadre when we were out that day. All together he found 5 rings that day. He found the other ring with his Fisher 1265X. Before my youtube channel, I used Tesoro's and frikn slaughtered the rings and coins.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak I believe you did! I am surprised many notices you are quite adept in metal detecting! Your education and desire to learn metal detecting has done you well.
This is Awesome not sure if your trolling but if so it’s epic and if not it’s epic If somebody has a tight budget and they can pick Somethin like this up at a garage sale for cheap I think they made a good choice no one should think there not “part of the club” because they use an older Machine even though there seems to be a small cultic following that seem to wanna own some monopoly of performance and yet can’t seem to produce any good Finds regardless of all the endless test garden videos and nail test
That compadre is frikn deadly on jewelry. He found 4 rings with it that day. The disadvantage with modern machines is just too many features and settings. Most places I hunt...no need for $1000 detectors
Paystreak, Superfreak, aka Jeremy. The White's Spectra V3i, and the Tesoro has taught you well! In a hunt you could take the Tesoro beep, beep, beep, and do extremely well! Most likely you could beat the newer multifunction metal detectors out! The Compadre operates at 12 kHz.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak A person like yourself that has taught yourself well could compete with any using a beep machine. Amazingly, anyone could learn what you know about metal detecting if they had the desire as you do. If anyone would watch, you it is obvious you put much emphasis on the sound. The only local dealer in Metal Detectors the last time I spoke to him had purchased an Equinox 800. When he goes on competition hunts he takes a beep machine. Amazing!
Hi my name is Tom and I have the same exact detector you have… I bought almost 10 years ago and maybe used it 2 or 3 times and it’s been hanging in my garage ever since… can you tell me the settings I should put it on for silver coins or gold items???? After all these years I have no idea!!!! Thank you very much… Happy hunting
Use the tesoro roll method. Set it above all metal and when you find a target, keep swinging over it while turning up the disc knob until it stops beeping then continue to sweep and turn it slowly back down until it starts fully beeping again. Then look at where the knob is to tell you what the target is Silver will always ring near the high end. Gold however falls anywhere on the spectrum from small gold down below foil to big gold like men's rings up nearer to middle or middle high. Then after digging or skipping target set disc back down above all metal a little and continue on.
I just wish the Tesoros were waterproof. The new higher frequency detectors punch through our mineralized soil much better than the older low frequency detectors. The Tesoros worked so much better in the Texas loamy soil than the mineralized red clay in Willamette Valley.
damn shame Jack's boys didn't have the drive their Daddy did. Time waits for no man, yet back in the day Tesoro ruled the roost. If only they'd utilised the 'iron grunt' component found on the black box Euro Sabre 2. Xp copied the Tejon, big-style, added an iron tone / 3 tone, and the rest is history.
I am very comfortable knowing I am missing all the targets that my detector does not swing over. Some people swing slow, some people swing fast. I am confident when I swing fast over a target that is 3" deep...the Compadre will beep. The Compadre is a very capable detector. Knowing the limits of the detectors we use is crucial, the limits were not exceeded in this video.

That Compadre is so cool. Loved seeing the Legend playing with the tesoro, like two cool dogs.
The Compadre loves totlots.
Still have my Mojave and Bandido 2 µMax. Thanks for showing this video.
Jeremy, I forgot how quiet those machines were, and that beautiful, smooth, analog sound
I need to get to the back of my closet when I get home. I have a few Tesoros back there somewhere.

I miss my compadres, had a few. Had lots of great finds and first gold ring with tesoro.
That's awesome

Nice, good to see you workin a Tesoro. Still have the compadre and 2 other T’s. They don’t completely shelf my D2💪🏻
The Tesoro's are not obsolete. Those analog machines do very well against modern machines for jewelry.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak You got that straight Jeremy!💪🏻
Blast from the past still sounds great
I will never get rid of my tot lot king, Compadre.
Hell yah!!
My bro had a silver Sabre decades ago….worked great!
The Sabre was great. It originally was released as a kids detector. The Sabre can slaughter the silver.
Good stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it

The Compadre is a fun little detector - light and fast.
It is light and fast. The simplicity of the Compadre makes for a fun hunt.

Still have my Compadre. Still king of the tot lot the way it works around big steel.
Compadre is a totlot killer!!
Hey Streak, are you back in mineralized soil? If so, that little compadre is kicking
I am still in Texas. Mild soil here for the most part

Yah!! The Tesoro is awesome!! I have a few Tesoro skeletons in my closet.
These tesoros can compete with detectors running in to the 1000s I have seen it time after time where the tesoro comes away with the goodies.

As fast as you swing and don't overlap your definitely missing.

@PaystreakSuperfreak I have commented on this before but I think the camera makes it look faster then it might actually be.
