Yay! Fun Movie and Reaction Eric, Rick, & Melanie!
:)
React to Freddy vs Jason movie next
You should watch Freddy vs Jason guys. Awesome Horror crossover 👍🏻
The actor's playing the monsters are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. I've read comments about Robert Englund being awesome. I can say the same thing about Kane Hodder. Met him at the Indianapolis Airport. He saw my daughter (6 then) had a Jason Voorhees hockey mask necklace, and introduced himself. We ended up talking for a half hour. He thought it was hilarious that my daughter named her puppy Jason. He gave my daughter an autograph and took pictures with her. Both are still hanging on her wall. The autograph reads: *"To Berea, my friend and biggest little fan. You have a horrible father!!!"*
I love that autograph comment !!!😄
🤣 What an awesome autograph!
@@floppsymoppsy5969 I've been "bad dad" ever since 🤣🤣🤣 (She's 13 now) And her puppy is 8, weighs 110 pounds, and eats more people food than I do.
@@NiaNeuman ^^^^^ 🤣
@@clevelandcbi Wear that badge with honor Sir!
Melanie confused trying to make logical sense of the dream sequences. Meanwhile Eric is having the time of his life and Rick laughing at it all. This was great!
These three together were an unexpected delight.
Nancy doesn't get enough love. I'm so happy you all liked her!
@@theretrosavage Are you speaking of Heather Langenkamp? She turned twenty while filming this movie. That's why Wes Craven gave her that line.
I've been in love with her since this came out.
@@clevelandcbi You have excellent and refined taste!
Most underrated final girl ever…..
It’s interesting that 2 of, if not THE 2 greatest final girls of all time are both from Wes Craven films (Nancy and Sidney).
Fun Fact : The doctor Nancy's mom takes her to is played by Charles Fleischer, who did the voice of Roger Rabbit!
One of the things I love about the Nightmare On Elm Street films is that "why would anybody in their right mind do this?" doesn't really work as a question because you really do do weird shit in your dreams.
You're right about Nancy being a badass. Wes Craven wrote her to be a role-model for his daughter.
BTW, if you want to know the best piece of Nightmare On Elm Street trivia, it's this: the dream clinic doctor also played Roger Rabbit.
Yeah... I am halfway through the reaction and I am wondering if Eric and Melanie will at some point get the drill. I mean its hilarious and that is probably why Rick isn't telling them
I met Robert Englund once at Comic-Con, the guy really takes his time with the fan and he got an insane great sense of humor ! I remember, i had difficulty with a cheap pen to write my name for an autograph, slowing the waiting line, and he just said: " Bring me my next victim !!". It was crazy hilarious !! The one and only Freddy Kruger !! :P
He's awesome to meet. Definitely one of the more enjoyable experiences of a meeting a celeb at a convention that I've had. Hell, the majority of the positive experiences I've had meeting actors and actresses at conventions have been with the ones who've played villains more so than the heroes for some reason.
I love how when Englund would do guest lectures at colleges if there was an elm street nearby he'd stop by to say hi.
Yea. Met him too. Great guy!
Hes one of the sweetest humans!
I met him and Heather Langenkamp last year and got the photo op with them. Both were very cool.
**Freddy pushing through the wall**
Eric: "Woah... Sweet!"
Melanie: "That's not sweet."
(Eric, Remembering who he's watching the film with):
"Oh, I'm so sorry... Oh my god...it's terrifying..."
🤣
We need more Eric to join the Melanie and Aaron horror reactions!
Timestap?
@@kitkat1999 8:20
@@MegaJSK123 Thanks!
19:31 I love Melanie's reaction, such a mom thing to say
29:08 was also pretty hilarious. Not so much as a mom thing, but both her and Eric were disgusted and rightly so.
Eric and Melanie freaking out over the tongue phone and Rick laughing his ass off at it gave me life. This trio was an unexpected but really enjoyable combination 😁 I saw this movie about 12-13 years ago and Glen's death still creeps me out just to think about. And on the topic of weird dreams I actually had a nightmare with Freddie in it once, it ended up with me trying to kill him and he sent me to purgatory or hell or something like that 😅
Eric was so happy with that wall part lmao
to be fair, it IS sick!
This films is incredible. So glad you're reacting to the genius of Wes Craven.
Wasn't expecting Melanie in a reaction without Aaron. I kind of like it! This was a fun reaction/discussion
Eh she aight
Yeah! I love that they’re all still one family. It’s like how me and my sister both have good friendships with our brother’s girlfriend and can hang out with her and all.
I had to do a double take cause I just assumed that was Aaron
Aaron grew a beard
their reaction to this was very annoying
I'd get such a kick out of you guys doing a whole bunch of these.
Same here. Would love to see their reaction to the sequels, especially Dream Warriors and Dream Master.
Eric "I've never reacted to anything actually scary with you"
Melanie "F...Screw you" 🤣🤣
"Screw you f.... flight lieutenant"
That Screw you was so personal!
I absolutely loved this trio together (always love when Melanie is here!) and loved this reaction/discussion! Your horror movie reactions are always some of my absolute favorites.
I love when people talk to the movie, "don't do that", "don't go there", etc.. when you dream, you subconcious takes over and you really not in control, you just "flow" with the dream, the final scene she is actually sleepwalking, so her screaming out the window her eyes are closed, and those outside, they don't see freddy. her traps worked cause she remembered she set them and made them real in her dream, she set freddy on fire in momentarliy made him 'real' until he was extinguished, he vanished.
You three together was fun to watch! Melanie did a lot better than I expected. This is one of my favorite horror movies due to the unique (at the time) concept. Heather Lagenkamp (Nancy) is in the new Mike Flanagan show "The Midnight Club." It was great seeing her in it.
I love how chaotic Rick is when he knows a gross part is coming up
i hope these 3 react to the whole Nightmare series. I'd to see their takes on Freddy getting a more humorous personality as the series goes along.
Rick's reaction at 30:49 was fantastic
Eric mentioning sword fighting with the school janitor without knowing Freddie's backstory made me laugh until I cried. 🤣😂 So innocent.
Nooo hahahaha
I was watching the Documentary of the Making of the Nightmare on Elm Street and they said during Glen's death scene so much fake blood was pumped into the room that it started to rotate the gimble and was just a complete nightmare (pun intended lol) for the crew!
10:40 Erics genuine reaction here is just like mine when I first saw this at age 7. I grabbed my chest too cause I could genuinely feel the slash
Great reaction. Both Tina and Glen's death scenes were done with a gimble where the room would rotate slowly. If you ever see the deleted scenes for Glen's death, the bed actually spits him back out after the blood geyser. The scene between Nancy and her mother in the basement was originally longer and gave more backstory to what led to the parents killing Freddy. All four of the main kids had siblings that were killed by Freddy when he was alive but that part was cut from the movie.
Anyone interested in more of Freddy's backstory when he was alive should check out the first couple episodes of the TV show, Freddy's Nightmares as it covers his arrest and trial. The series as whole is pretty cheesy but the first couple are good.
It is uncanny to see a young Johnny Depp. I feel like he's been 40 for my entire life.
He and John Saxon are easily the best actors in the movie, too.
Funny, he was 25 my entire life until I saw Pirates OTC. That's when he hit and stayed 40.
@@DanJackson1977thank you!! I thought I was taking crazy pills 😂
Legit one of my favorite bits of acting ever is when Freddy gets gasoline thrown on him and REALIZES WHAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN TO HIM, /AGAIN/. THE GENUINE TERROR FROM YOUR BIG BAD GUY. So good.
This was tons of fun. Would love to see Eric check out some of the sequels!
If they do any of them, Nightmare 3 and New Nightmare would be great.
I higly suggest A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and Wes Craven's New Nightmare, they really are well made and the story are fun !
Feel like new nightmare is rlly underrated, it's great and a cool kinda precursor to Scream from Wes
Definitely! Love those ones.
The Nancy Trilogy is the best.
@@RuminatingRaptor they should watch Freddy vs Jason for the fun of the fight and the stupidity of the characters
Great reaction guys! Really liked the panel this video and I hope Melanie will be back for more stuff like this!
I remember watching this the first time thinking Tina was the star & it was about her. I was so shocked when Freddy killed her like 20 minutes in, then I realized it was about Nancy. Robert Englund is the GOAT. Amazing in everything he does.
Also, it's a good thing that Aaron's not here & they're not watching part III. Imagine Aaron's reaction with Freddy's kill using EIGHT needle syringes.
I really enjoy this line up! Really nice to see Melanie in more content!!
One of my all time favorite horrors. It’s such got such a unique slasher feel to it. Tina’s dream sequence used to scare me so much. I love it
This was such a great reaction dynamic. The three of you together should be a regular special occasion thing
Man, I love that you guys did this reaction. Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors is a sequel worth watching for sure. That one adds a lot to the mythology and this story, but it also has a loooot of awesome special effects death scenes.
Welcome to prime time bitch! Love that scene!
Hopefully Aaron misses that one for his sake. Imagine his reaction to Freddy's multiple syringe kill.
@@chrisyancey89 Hahaha, true. Aaron would have a really hard time with that scene.
New Nightmare is a classic too, definitely hope to see it on the channel eventually.
@@chrisyancey89 I feel sorry for the one sitting next to him for that movie because they gonna get slaaaaaapped 😂
As we can see with Glen, Freddy could kill them all instantly if he wished to do so.
But since he feasts on their fear, he prolongs their suffering whenever possible.
27:52 Clocking someone is when you punch them in the face, coldcocking someone is when you knock them out. Coldcock has been around since about the 1920s, so it's really old slang.
This is a neat surprise. As someone who doesn't watch a ton of horror movies, I've been watching one of these movies every year, this year being the 6th one. This is a pretty damn good series of movies, even if I wasn't huge into 4 or 5 (despite their genuine creativity).
This movie scared me so much as kid. It's nice to re-watch it years later to appreciate the acting and special effects, instead of being scared shitless.
Omg I love how happy Eric Is watching this lol 🎃
The sound of Tina's arm plopping on the hallway floor is probably still the scariest part of this movie to me. Makes me shudder every time.
I met Robert Englund at a Comic Con one year and he was the nicest man until he turned into Freddy and then he was even more awesome. He was out walking the floor and he was telling my mom and I that his living room is nautical themed and that he has to sneak horror stuff in there cause his wife doesn’t allow it.
Melanie during the phone scene is so me. That part continues to horrify me forty years later 😩🤣
This was a lot of fun watching with you guys and Melanie! I had never watched this movie before and damn freddy is so creepy 😲
3rd evolution of the slasher movie...First one, the style and tropes in Halloween...2nd, the gore and setting in Friday the 13th...this one, the personnality of the slasher and his influence on the rules of the genre ! Freddy is so unique and interresting, he's not just a mute killing machine like Micheal Myers or a unstoppable zombie like Jason Voorheese, he's got a style, creepy vibe of child killer and and unique personality and power ! Best slasher killer of the 80's no question !! Robert Englund is the man !!
And if you count the remake a child molester too
Hi guys I’m Clint from England. Great choice of movie for this time of the year. I would have to stick this movie on as well. I watched all the nightmare movies by the time I was 13. Gave me plenty of nightmares as a child. Probably has a contribution to my acting career now. Horrors are the best and so much fun to make. Not had the chance to perform on the big Hollywood stage yet but I’m on my way. I’m not giving up. Hopefully I will work on a big movie like this one. Enjoy the reactions guys keep them coming 👍🏽🎥
In a deleted scene when Nancy's mom explains the origin of Freddy she also reveals that Nancy, Tina and everyone had a sibling that Freddy murdered
Never heard anyone describe that panic when falling asleep, as your breathing changes. Would like to hear more about that, as it happens to me periodically.
Highly recommend a series on Netflix called the Movies that Made Us. There is an episode of Nightmare on Elmstreet where they go behind the scenes of how the movie got made and all the real life effects they created and how.
I don't know how u could highly recommend that show. I absolutely can't stand the format. If they would have just played it straight instead of trying to be so witty and gimmicky, I would watch every episode.
That was a great Reactor Pick for this Reaction, the Trio of you worked perfect for this one :D
For the ending i assumed Freddy lost to Nancy, but all of the Events awaked the fear of her Mother so he attacked her in her Sleep
The Dream of "Everything turned out to be good for my daughter" at the end would fit for a Mother
If/when Eric (Rick too) watches all of the movies I suggest he check out the doc "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy"
13:39 She was correct. The quote, "O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams," is from HAMLET Act 2 Scene 2.
Eric: "In the light, he's actually very good-looking."
😄
Loved all your reactions. I feel like when the guys bring Melanie is a special occasion. Love the video
This movie was such a triumph for its time, already destined to become a classic.
This is a nice change of pace for your lineup
Melanie's face when Freddy flicks his tongue!😂😂😂😂 I think I scared some people at the office from laughing so loud! Haha!
MORE! Most of the sequels are pretty good (even 6, the weakest one of them, has some fun sequences). 1,3 and 7 (Wes Craven's New Nightmare) are a MUST SEE, 2 is also very good and 4 and 5 have some very imaginative dream sequences and some cool twists on he formula too.
Hopefully I don't have to wait a decade for you to watch all of them :D
I LOVE THIS TRIO ALREADY I havent even watched past the intro! *SMASHES MUG* ANOTHER!
Still a classic. Apparently, there was a deleted scene where they mentioned that Nancy had an older sibling that was one of the 20 kids Crueger originally killed.
37:38 Freddy: Get over here!
This was just a classic of 80's horror. We had such fun watching these on VHS back then.
Y'all have got to continue the Elm Street series.
29:04 this really cracked me up 😂
This is such a weird combination of people for a reaction but I love it haha. Rick is just me when I watch this with people 😂
A Nightmare on Elm Street is my favorite 80's horror series. I would watch all reactions to them.
50:48 - No: In dreams, you are not always in a first person aspect. We have dreams where we are in first person POV, sure, but in many of them we can see ourselves as though we are out of our bodies and in some other we just watch people act as though we are not there and we look upon them as though we are watching a movie completely removed from the action (And sometimes, these perspective can switch between one another during the course of a single dream)
So in that end scene, even if Nancy is seemingly away from the action when her mom gets pulled into the window, that can still be Nancy seeing this. In fact, one interpretation of this scene is that Nancy's mom as well as all of Nancy's friends in that scene are not real: They all died in real life and what Nancy is seeing is only a projection that Freddy uses to scare her and to gain power over her (Which is one of the rules: Freddy can do whatever he wants in the dream world, change his appearance, the appearance of things and people, even play with the laws of physics, but in order to be able to kill them for real in the real world, they must be afraid of him enough that they are basically and literally "scared to death"!). Without that fear, Freddy is just another Nightmare anyone can wake-up unscathed from. So any time someone is in a dream, everything they see is what Freddy wants them to see.
That is why also, if you go back to scenes like when Nancy is dreaming and she asks Glen "Are you still watching?" and Glen appears out of some bushes and says "Yeah!": *That is NOT Glen!* If Glen IS watching Nancy, that means he is awake and cannot be in her dream; and even if he has already fallen asleep at that point, Glen doesn't know how to enter someone else's dream (Only his own). So that "Glen" is either Freddy in disguise or a projection created by Freddy to make Nancy believe that she is safe when she is not. In the same way, when Nancy sees Freddy in Rod's cell, it is not because she has the power to see someone else's dream. It is again because Freddy is projecting what he is doing with Rod into Nancy's dream.
It is the dream world: Freddy is always in control! And, regarding the few comments about why Nancy and other make strange, even stupid decisions in the dreams: That is how it is when we dream! Some people who are capable of lucid dreaming are able to take control and make more sound decision, but for most of us, our higher brain functions are not available while in REM sleep and we end up doing things and take decisions that, when we wake up, we can't believe we ever would do in real life (Not excluding the fact that most of us make far more stupid decision in our waking lives than we'd care to admit...!). I know it can be frustrating as a movie viewer when people in a movie make stupid decision but, to be fair, that is a very common trope of the Horror movie genre and, at least in this franchise, the heroes in their dreams have that excuse going for them (Contrary to those in Friday the 13th and other horror movies taking place in the waking world and where movie characters make the stupidest decisions anyone in a survival situation would ever do!)
nearly all of mine were my POV, but I've had dreams that were literally just trailers for some movie my mind created.
ahhh the 80s when Horror slasher movies were great.... Jason, Michael and Freddie
S4 of stranger Things actually had Robert Englund(Freddy)in the cast. So cool! He was Victor Creel.
The actor playing the dream clinic doc was the voice of Roger Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
There is an extended scene, in the basement, when Marge shows Nancy the glove. Marge explains that Nancy had an older brother, and Freddy killed him. I think they should have left that in because it makes the final stakes even higher.
So if you guys never heard of it before, i actually think Freddy is more of a tulpa than a ghost.
“a being that begins in the imagination but acquires a tangible reality and sentience. Tulpas are created either through a deliberate act of individual will or unintentionally from the thoughts of numerous people”
So basically the more you think about him and research him the stronger he gets…
I don’t wanna give details/spoilers for the other movies but it really fits imo 😂
I can't believe Johnny didn't call his friends at Jump Street to try to figure this all out.
"this movies from before we were all born".... now i feel old :(
Ah a classic. Great reaction. I love the idea of Freddy and attacking in your dreams. So good
The looking 20 joke was that Heather, who played Nancy, was actually 20 when the film came out
Fun fact: Glenn's death was shot using a rotated room method where everything is upside down. However when the effects gut poured the blood down it sent an electric current back up and started to short circuit everything and caused the room to rotate. You can actually see the effect where all the blood from the bed begins moving to one side
Melanie!!!😁 Long time, no see, but looking forward to seeing your reactions again👍
Greatest special effect ever that last scene.
“Aww, bitch”
- Scary Terry
At the end, Nancy told Freddy she wanted her friends and mom back. So the only way she could see them again was in her dreams...Freddy played her; making her think she got them back. Then took them away again in Nancy's dream.
I like this trio combo!
Y'all have to do Dream Warriors and New Nightmare one day. Both incredible films. Dream Warriors is my favorite of the whole bunch.
Is that the one with Freddy stabs the girl with needles? Aaron would hate that!
Nancy = Nancy from Stranger Things. The bedroom and pajamas will also be familiar too.
I hate when I wake up in the middle of sleep and either feel like I’m falling or I’ve been holding my breath. Omg it scares the shit out of me
The dude with the long hair though can we take a minute to appreciate how intense and handsome that stare is.
Finally a reaction that noticed that that is Johnny Depp when he was young thank you Rick
While "clocking" someone does mean hitting them in the face, "coldcocking" is a real term and means the same thing.
The scene of the blood geyser from the bed is my earliest movie memory. it probably isn't the first movie i saw, but its the first movie i can remember seeing.
also i honestly don't remember a different ending. the freddy car and the mom pulled thru the window is the only ending i can remember ever seeing, even as a kid.
1,2 Freddy's coming for you
3,4 better lock your door
5,6 grab your crucifix
7,8 can you stay up late
9,10 never sleep again
14:22 sound of Vecna Clock!!!!!
You're good Eric. Lots of people can't tell when they are in the nightmare so fast.
New Line Cinema.
Small independent film company way back when.
Big time film studio today with WB Discovery.
It was the house that The Elm Street legacy built.
I love this! You three should react to more scary movies together!
I saw Robert Englund at either Comic Con or Supanova. I can't remember which. But, it was in Australia. I didn't talk to him or introduce myself to him. So, I didn't technically meet him. But, I was in the same room as him. I was at his panel
I have the same problem with having panic attacks when I fall asleep. This is the first time I've ever heard someone else say they experience that. People usually think I'm crazy when I say it.
I hate dreaming about work, nothing worse than doing an extra shift and not getting paid for it.
I'm a bouncer, so I've gotten to dream of work and getting my butt kicked at the same time 😅
please watch the sequels! I loved how interested Eric was through this reaction!
So happy Eric hasn’t watch any of the famous horrors so that they can react to it on the channel!
Man these movies really made my childhood granted I was forced to watch them by a mean older brother but I do love em
its awesome that you guys started reacting to the nightmare on elm street franchise. i love it when you guys do horror movie reactions. i hope the wave riders dont have to wait til next October to see more horror reactions.
