They were literally feasting on a buffet while recording in a cellar restaurant in Brno. Invited some LARP people as extras. They had Aragorns sword as a prop and Peter grabbed it. Peter has a tattoo of that sword on his right arm. They can all do subharmonics. Peter went for the operatic voice because that's what he is, as well the original voiceactor in the movie.
We hear you. If it makes you feel any better he brutally attacks us, as well. It's part of our friendship. We all love each other and never take the attacks seriously.
Peter Barber always does a reaction and analysis to The Bass Gang songs. You should check those out after your reactions. He does an analysis of the vocals explaining how singing opera is different, and gives lots of behind the scenes info. You were correct on the sword. Peter has a tattoo of that sword on his right forearm. The part at the end with trying to spell Gaston was not in the movie, but was on the original soundtrack.
I find it a surprising (and probably hard on his back) but Tomi has got to be doing most of this either bent over, sitting or I’m guessing with knees bent. He is considerably taller than both Bobby & Peter, but it would mess with the premise of the song if he stood at full height. Pretty sure he is 6’5” or more? You can really see the difference in their Aladdin song where the three are standing and singing.
If it helps on the pronunciation, it's "bass-o" like the fish "pro" like professional and "fund-o" like hedge fund. But yeah, it's an odd word to read if you're not familiar with it.
7:23 Peter has spoken about how he had some throat issues the days before the shoot and on the day of shooting, he finally felt better. And in that particular part, he managed to really open up and do the operatic stuff within a pretty small basement with the sound bouncing off the walls. And all the people were like "What the hell did just come out of his mouth?"
The misspelling of name Gaston is present in Boroadway version but not animated version. The Live Action does a far lenghtier joke: There Le Fou says the following: And his name is G-A-S-T...I believe there´s another T... It just ocurred to me...that I´m illiterate and I never actually had to spell it out loud befooore... All people in tavern present: GASTON!
Fantastic reaction…you guys are always so fun. If you want a phenomenal example of Tomi’s range (whistle notes included) check out his Avi Kaplan medley.
Peter has Anduril, sword of Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, Tomi P. has most likely a witcher sword (which would make sense, when there are LARP gyus present)
Pretty sure Peter does subs. It’s just not a technique used in opera so he wouldn’t do it here. Great reaction, guys! I’m glad you appreciated all the humor in this!
Peter has been doing subs for a while and has them (down to a C#1 in Hide And Seek, though he had to really trash his voice for that), but prefers to use chest fry because it’s a stronger technique for him.

All hail the king of Gondor
LOL
In time for Halloween, I would recommend you check out their version of "Hide and Seek" featuring Lauren Paley. I think you'll be impressed!
Poor AJ. You guys pick on him all the time. It’s really funny, but then I feel bad🤷🏼♀️

AJ - The sword Tomi P is carrying is Zireael, Ciri´s sword from The Witcher 3.

Fun fact...the sword that Peter is holding matches the one that is tattooed on his arm. And yes, it is the one from the Lord of The Rings.

Check out their collab with Tim Foust, everyone's got wine except Marwan.

They had so much fun.. and It is awesome how they adapted to make sure that Marwan was kept connected throughout the series.
If you want the chefs song from the little mermaid. Check out Voiceplays little mermaid medley. You guys will love it and Jeff plays Ursula
voiceplay have done a cover of the little mermaid and the chefs song is in that! ❤🏴
And Layne is absolutely crazy as the chef. 😂
Fantastic reaction…you guys are always so fun.

And watch it all the way to the outro, there is a treat at the end.

Aj Coldplay be a azum bass singer he has the voice for it
This is such a fun one. Peter's reaction to it is great. He says that they were, in fact, eating and drinking.

Love your reactions! This is my favorite by The Bass Gang so far.
