The conversation detection on the Pixel Buds Pro is amazing. When both earbuds are in my ear, I start talking to someone, my music stops & it knows to turn the active noise cancellation off immediately & turns on the transparency mode. Then it turns it back on and starts playing my music automatically. I no longer have to remove an earbud when someone comes up and speaks to me.
There is one big feature that you didnt mention in this review and thats real time translation. This is huge for someone that is traveling to foreign countries and sets it apart from Airpods and other wireless buds
You hit the nail on the head. I keep the airpods pro 2s for my android phone just for the transparency mode. The pixel buds pro are getting there. It's just that the pixel buds are more comfortable for longer periods of wear. Just like the jabra elite 10s (which BTW are not a patch on the other 2s transparency modes).
I was surprised how well the touch controls work on the Pixel Buds Pro. Very accurate and responsive with little delays. Definitely one of the positives for me when comparing to my other Bluetooth buds.
Honestly the white noise in noise cancellation sounds kinda nice to have, while i never used noise cancellation headphones, i would go insane if i hear literally nothing
S23U here. I burrowed through a ton of also-rans in premium buds and ended up just going back to APPii. They are the lightest and most comfy. They are absolutely undefeated.

I have both and the beats fit pro. I actually prefer the beats fit Pro over both due to battery life. But as far as noise cancellation and transparency Beats and AirPods Pro are right on par with Pixel Buds Pro trailing close behind.
I'm surprised to hear that the AirPods Pro would fall off from your ear. It has never fallen off of mine, and I think it's so comfortable to the point where I would forget that I have them on from time to time, and get surprised by the low battery warning and then realize that I'm actually wearing something in my ear.
It's almost like Drew isn't aware that you could just swap out the silicon earbuds for memory foam. I've straight up never had to worry about Airpods Pro falling out of my ears with memory foam tips.
My pixel buds pro are great, good ANC for a price better than a lot of others on the market. Got mine for about £120. Plus as a Pixel 6 Pro user, who uses google software for my online life, and has a pixel watch on my wrist... yeah it just seemed logical 😂
Don't make the same mistake as me. I've been using the Sony XM3 for over 3 years and then the right ear suddenly won't charge fully and I get only 20 minutes out of it. I saw that the Pixels Buds Pro was $40 off on BestBuy Canada and it also had better rating than the Sony XM5 and on top of that I watched Marquees Browlee's review of it then was sold on purchasing it. Big mistake. The sound quality isn't nearly as good as the Sony XM3. And now I realized BestBuy Canada changed their policy few years back on used headphones and won't accept them (even though BestBuy USA still allows it). What gives!
I think the magic apple put on the airpords is that logo and features that work exclusively with iPhone. If you have an iphone, theres no point in getting anything thats not apple related if you want its perks
You should try out the Sony earbuds! I’d love to hear what you think. I tried them recently because I went on a trip and forgot my AirPods and I just wasn’t a fan of the noise cancelling and ambient modes. Not up to AirPods standard

But for me at least I almost exclusively use transparency mode and the Sony’s ambient sounds like it’s coming through a microphone and has a “white noise” sound in the background plus it gave me the airplane pressure in my ears. The pressure was even worse with the noise canceling. With Airpods I only get pressure with noise canceling but not nearly as much
I have both and the pixel buds fit me better and Google assistant is clearly better than siri, however, ANC and Transparency is so much better on AirPods. I think the audio sounds a little better too.
I can’t speak on pixel buds pro but I did own the first generation AirPods pro and I could definitely relate to what you said about them constantly slipping out of my ears overtime. I loved everything about my 1st gen airpods pros except for the comfort of them and the constant need to push them back in my ear and tweak them around hoping to get them to stay in my ear. I even bought this hook accessory for them to hope that they stayed in my ear and it did but the case couldn’t close with the rubber hook accessory on them. For me the normal AirPods (1st or 2nd gen) are the best earphones in terms of comfort, I just pop them into my ear and they stay in no matter how much I’m moving or how much I’m sweating, and I really like the fact it’s like I always have transparency mode on. I’m a person who likes to hear things around them for the majority of time except when I’m on the bus and it’s really really loud. This where they lack for me. The rare times that I do want anc I can’t because the normal airpods don’t have it. I really like AirPod pros for the features and now usb c but I haven’t gotten them because I know for a fact I’m going to have the same comfort problems as my old pros. Sorry the essay about my experience with AirPod pros 😅 I’m honestly probably going to give in to buying the new ones with usb c eventually.

The airpods pro do not fit in my ears so they do not sound better than the airpods one. I think the sound is way on those, but I move and the pros fall out. Apple really puts little effort into making sure these fit in all ears. In pubic I see so many people making accomodations to make them fit and Apple really just has a monopoly on these.
Maybe you have problem with AirPods 2. I bought them and sound was worse than in AirPods from 2019.. I returned and bought new ones, sound is perfect and really better.

I think the issue is that google lost its simplicity aura if that makes sense. Look at their homepage and then look at the pixel and tell me with a straight face that they’re both by the same company design wise.
I know I am a dinosaur in this regard but I actually like neckband earbuds. Not the original Pixel buds I never tried those and I heard they were terrible for a million other reasons. Put stuff like the LG tone flex... That way if you get a phone call you can just quickly lift your your earbud into your ear you don't need to fiddle around your pockets. If you need ambience down you can just quickly remove one of your earbuds. LG ToneFlex, 1more dual driver.... OnePlus bullets wireless z... There's other good ones but unfortunately they're all getting pretty old now because the form factor is out of style obviously. There are a few holdouts. Moondrop is an audio file brand that still makes them and also makes a DAC built in the shape of a neck band.
No comment on the Pixelbuds, but if you love the AirPods Pro Gen 1, you would really love the Gen 2 Pros, so much better in every way, and WAY more reliable.
My next set of earphones will be airpods again, but not until the USB C airpods pro get cheaper on amazon. Once that happens if I have the money for it I'm going to probably upgrade to them.

So I made up some bs with the support built into pixel and ordered for a callback getting a full refund. I said the conversation awareness was inaccurate and I wasn’t happy 💀. That shit worked a treat, I was just mad I got the stupid ahh colour. Anyways it worked and I got a refund for my buds which were already on sale for $200 AUD from $300. And when I went to buy the bay blue ones they were $179 lol, that’s like $120 US which is amazing. God I love consumer laws in Australia ❤️
doesn't make sense to compare apple to google, when google is still very young in the smartphone and wearable market. A better comparable contest would be with Samsung vs apple. A company that has been in the smartphone and wearable market a lot longer like apple
Had the same problem with the new airpods pro falling out of my ear but i bought a pair of earbuds on amazon for them and haven’t had a problem since. The thing i hate about the airpods pro compared to the pixel/samsung buds is the stem dangling out of the ears. When im outside and it’s windy, the wind catches the stem and makes a wooshing sound even with noise cancellatiob that the pixel buds don’t make. I can also fall asleep with the pixel buds in because they don’t have something poking out so i can lay my head on the pillow.
The airpods always fall out of my ears when working out so they didn't work for me. My ears are like yours and the pixel buds stay in my ears without issue. So even though the anc on the airpods might be ever so slightly better, it's important that they stay in my ears and if they can't, it's a no go.

I just got my first pair of Pro’s with the USBC Pro 2’s and they are amazing. They don’t fit as well as my 3’s thougu
