great explanation thanks Vince
Thank you for your support, and kind words. I really appreciate it! Vince
Good subject as always. Thermal management is a big consideration in modern electronics, a thermal camera can be very educational. I've seen industrial cases where 85* ambient and everything was fine, but 90* and things started getting weird.
Steamfan71, thank you for your support as always. I really appreciate it. Vince
One more question please. Can you run 2 motors off of one driver (2 motors on 1 axis) or only 1 motor per driver?
Thank you for your support. In best practice you should only run a single motor per drive. Running multiple motors per drive can possibly destroy them. Thank you,
Vince
@@corvetteguy50 Thank you. I wasn't sure if sharing a signal to keep 2 motors sync'd was okay, but now I know.
@@me4698if you dont exceed the limits of driver, its safe to drive 2 or more with single driver. So many 3d printer dual axis uses this. Let's say driver rated up to 3A and you are using two 1.2A per steppers. Its on the limit but safe

Depends on the current.
I just bought a FDM 3D printer. I am very worried about the overheating of the stepper motors of the axes. They are very hot. Will these engines burn out? I am very worried😢😢😢😢
Thank you for your support. Steppers are designed to get hot, so as long as the manufacturer understands the proper sized power supply to use with the motors they selected you'll be fine. Thank you,
Vince
