Lake Proserpine LOW COST camping | NORTH QLD

This week we continue our journey south in our Next Gen Ford Ranger and Roadstar caravan to show off some must see locations. First stop is one of our favourite locations which is Bowen in Queensland, it's such a awesome spot to swim and relax beachside. After Bowen we head up to Lake Proserpine for some Off Grid camping and we try our luck for a bit of Fishing but no luck once again, Bryce tries to dry out our Bushwakka 270 degree awning after a few rainy days. We stay at a low cost showgrounds camp in sarina for a night. A quick lunch stop to spot some dugongs near Clairview.

may have mentioned it before lol, i ran the Sarina hotel (opposite the police station) for a bit back in the day.. circa 1989/90 lol small town, about 7 places to drink in a town of about 6000 lol

Look for a trucky transport in industrial area. Pallets out the front. Fire wood. Just knock out two timber planks. Cut them and drill a hole in centre. Put a rope through with loop. Now you have a plate sand peg.

Good episode, those tiegear look goods , but have the old fashion awning spring ropes for 30years and work great, with earls rubber quickties $8 from bunnings.
More is decent sand pegs or metal screws

Bowen is a beutiful place to visit.
I don’t know why he put you there. The power points and water are near the green blue toilet block near the stables. We had a great stay there as a base for exploring.

how are you handling the heat. we have turned into wrappers as well, such an easy meal.
It's nice to have it to ourselves!
Heat is fine, the humidity is the killer! But it's getting better the further down the coast we go
It's a great staple item the wraps!

Thanks for watching mate! We have one installed but generally don't need to use it, one of the most handy things is free camping we can shut it so the water doesn't run through where you're camping!
@@CaravanAdventureAus Thanks for the reply. Weve been looking at your setup but could never spot a gret water hose. We'll run with the hose for now and see if it causes any problems free camping. Keep safe, always look forward to your videos.
