I really disagree on your assessment of the Avalanche Chutes. Avy 2 is just as steep as Avy 1, but it's narrower, icier, and has a *way* more technical entrance. Avy 1 by contrast is one of the easier double-blacks on the mountain.
Avy 1 is much longer though, and has much bigger moguls.
@@waltysalamander Avy 1 is longer, but the pitch is really consistent, so the technicality drops way off after you can get into a rhythm. Plus, I'm not sure that I'd really consider length as a factor for difficulty unless you're getting to the point that exhaustion limits your performance. There really aren't any runs at Mammoth that are long enough to qualify.
